Terrible communication. Continually avoided time commitments and installation. We were a full 6 weeks out from when installation was originally supposed to occur. The job then strung on for weeks due to inadequate installation. I finally had to get the electrician to finish the job that HL Sims did not complete.
Called every day after they came to measure and was always told Susan would call me back but she never did. I would have to call three or four times that day to get her on the phone. She always had an excuse of why she didn t call me back. She Also kept changing the price for the same thing. One day he said it was $100 for removal. And the next day said it was $300. I felt like I was having to beg them to take my business. Found a great business in Gainesville that actually ended up being cheaper
After being referred to HL Sims from a neighbor of mine, I had an afternoon visit with Kathy F. as I was looking at a Quartz countertop solution for a temporary fix until I could get my dream of soapstone countertops in the 113 year old house I am living in.
Kathy was very patient and although could have made a high dollar sale to suit my needs, explained they didn't work on commissions and then she logically helped me select a fantastic laminate that looked just like soapstone for less than 1/2 the cost of the Quartz that I was going to purchase. This not only saved money for something that would only be in for 1 to 2 years, but also allowed me to get used to the look of soapstone so I would know what the ultimate appearance would be.
HL Sims representative that came out to measure my existing countertops was extremely professional and his expertise allowed a perfect measurement, even in an old house that is not exactly plumb square. One week later I was being called to schedule having the counters installed. On installation day within just a few hours, the professional installers had the old ones out (after removing appliances) and everything finished, gleaming and clean.
I cannot express adequately express my joy and gratitude for HL Sims and the team that I have worked with. They most definitely will be my choice and recommendation from here on out when it comes to countertops!

Do not use this company. Home Depot sent them to our home to install new laminate countertops. The entire experience was a disaster. They dented our walls, scraped the new paint and chipped the laminate. They did not wear masks and did not finish the job. We are disputing the charges right now.
Everyone I encountered was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. The installed a quartz type kitchen counter tops and laminate bathroom. All were expert installs.
Quality workmanship, and good people to do business with.
After 2 miscuts the company sent a installer 3 hours away to not only fix the issues, but go out of his way to help make my customer happy with the product and the final installment of the countertop - big thanks to Julian for representing HL Sims with top quality and respect. I just wanted to take a moment to let people know how much i appreciated the ease of working with H.L. Sims. From the driver that delivered the counter top to the guys in the office that coordinated the project, everyone was very helpful and easy to work with.
I'm not recommending delaying them, but they were even patient with me when I got busy and forgot to fax the signed invoice back on time. When my childcare center needs counter tops in the future as I update the building, this will be the company that I use.
Did a fabulous job. Very pleased with the results. The installers were magnificent.
Do not use this company! They sold us a warped piece of countertop and told us to just screw it down to take out the 1 inch difference. When I tried to talk to someone to rectify the situation, I have been given the runaround. Finally the owners son tried to call me. When I tried to return his call, they hung up on me and when I called back said he wasn't there, call back tomorrow and then hung up on me again. Rude!!

Writing this review for my mom, The seams were cut in the wrong place and the workers couldn't figure out how to install them so there boss told them the lay it in a 4x4 and bolt it together, after doing so they find out it is to long and tried to cut it down in the backyard causing it to warp and not be squared off. When trying to put it back in they chipped the corner, she told them to leave because by this point it was late and have the management call in the morning by 11am no call, my mom call and was talked down to and yelled at, was told they would call her back in the afternoon, 30 min before closing time no call and my mom called back a asked to talk to the owner was put on the phone with the owners son , as he yelled and berated my mom, she just told them to refund the money. After lookin for another company and not finding one my mom call back and tried to make it work and Kathy once again talked down and said that she wouldn't even wont to give the money back but all the office workers said they should try and work it out, by that point my mom told them to refund her and she will do with out. Now she has found a place in Lawrenceville that is going to put in granite top for a little more money with great customer service.
These guys are awesome with customer service,and product knowledge. I would highly recommend HL Sims to anyone renovating or building a new home! :-)

Incredibly poor workmanship. Countertop seams are uneven edges creating an edge that dishcloth gets snagged on. Dust was everywhere and not cleaned up. One countertop was cut to long and forced between cabinet walls, creating a 1/2 gap in cabinets, along with breaking tile backsplash when hammered to make fit! The owner, Hank, came to inspect and was pleased with the install and offered $75 to appease. Can you say old and senile? Part of the problem was that a newbie was left to learn (by mistake) on his own while other worker just walked around outside. I will not be paying for install. Thank goodness, I went thru Home Depot and they are going to resolve it.
Great Workmanship and attention to detail. Great turnaround also! Very good people to do business with! Will go back to them for all of my countertop needs!! Highly recommended!!
HL Sims did a great job for us with our new bathroom countertop. From helping me make a great product decision, to measurement, fabrication and installation, all went smoothly and efficiently. Laura was especially helpful keeping me informed every step of the way. We are very happy with the finished product.
