A really "schnuckeliger", typical Dutch place with beautiful old, well restored building material, nice shops, few chains and great restaurants with many tables along the canals or comfortably furnished guest rooms. Of course, beautiful churches, interesting museums and inviting parks with lawns are not missing. Always a day trip, with dinner, worth.

Indeed made on request for information regarding the historic center of Ljourd. More often I was in transit at the station for the transfer Arriva to Harlingen Haven. I always thought it would be nice to also visit the city of Leeuwarden. Well, that was a great surprise. The historic center is really beautiful and there are many places of interest. Lunch at the Stadswaag was also very nice and tasty. Lots to see, learn and admire.

Leeuwarden has a nice urban center with enough stores to buy clothes and there are also plenty of restaurants for lunch or dinner. In addition, the historic center of Leeuwarden is a beautiful city thanks to the waters and the graceful bridges

Leeuwarden is a beautiful city with beautiful historic buildings, history, beautiful museums and a beautiful church tower and my most favorite cinema of Pathe precisely because it still has a lot of old-fashioned decor and where you will find few pathe elements and if the film gets stuck here just his charm.

I never really knew what to expect from the Historical Centre Leeuwarden, but thought I'd just go and have a look for myself. At the moment there's and exhibition of old and new painted cityscapes of Leeuwarden. As someone who likes to discover a little about the history of the place I live it I found it very intriguing to see these familiar streets in different times. There's also a lot of other history of Friesland and Leeuwarden on display or available for research. Oh, and it's free too!

Leeuwarden is quite a beautiful old city. With nice canals and bridges. The prices are really very reasonable. But not at a tourist attraction. Day the price is sold twice. And you pay for a coke on the terrace 4.50. I just don't know what the letters on the roof of some store properties mean. Maybe someone has an answer to this.
Just a pity that there is so much import. They don't make it fun. The behavior of the frieze suddenly changes and becomes coarse and resentful. But the tourists do bring money. So just do it.

Nice Place to Stay. Very nice old and new city center. Here you can see that much has been done around the Culture Capital Year. How were there by boat and stayed a day longer than planned. Highlight: ascent of the leaning tower with fantastic view and the visit of the market (on Wilhelminaplein on Fridays).

Great city in which you can see a lot and the city center with shops and shopping is great. The harbor is great for pedestrian boats. The shower, - and washing facilities at the harbor master are very limited and in a catastrophic state. The mooring for the boat is extremely expensive and out of all proportion to the rest of the ports in the Netherlands.
