Compared to Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, this Waikoloa Village is much less generous to Diamond member, as neither of my rooms were upgraded even I requested several times and the staff replied additional $250 per night per room while there were still suites and many prefered rooms available. The only and rare benefit is the continental breakfast only for eating enough, but don't expect tasty, and the upgrade price is confusing. Hotel's location is pretty bad, so far away to those scenes. No car no feet. No free shuttle. No executive lounge and happy hour, either. No difference between Gold and Diamond members.

Lovely resort. The accommodations were perfect for our 6 family members. Great kitchen and the patio was like an additional family room, but with amazing views! Goid location, staff was excellent. Close to restaurants and shopping and beaches. I would definitely recommend to others and would stay here again on a future trip.

The restaurant food was alright, but in general I would not want to provide any more funding to this establishment until they get rid of their dolphin area. They have about 5-7 dolphins in what is barely larger than a pool. It's awful.

Echoing what others have said, it's a beautiful property which is great for all sorts of events. I'm here on business and might come back with family to explore this more. It's a little off the water, but the grounds are great.

They tried. The locals that work there are nice. But the corp. Is only inspired by $. They need to take some of there profit and buy some rade. Cockroach city. Cockroaches were everywhere. They charge for everything. I mean everything. And too much. I've had better food at a drive through. I'll never go back.

Massive, so much to explore. Loved our time here. The lagoon is amazing, we were able to swim with turtles and see all kinds of fish. The dolphins are amazing too. Great food, pretty much everything you would need is right there on the premises. Almost too nice, you hate to leave, but you really must, so much to see on the island as well.

Beautiful, but the staff seems disconnected. Not willing to resolve issues or take responsibility. Went to the Italian restaurant onsite and arrived early to our reservation for 9 people. We weren't seated until 20 min past our reservation time because a group of 25 booked 15 min after us and they reserved an area for them specifically, but that family ended up being late and didn't show until we were actually leaving. We actually sat at our table for almost 10 minutes before they brought water. While the service was quick because it's nothing more than pasta and pizza, it was excessively expensive like everything else at this resort. Again, beautiful location, save your money and go to Mexico. You'll be much more appreciated and you'll get better service.

I love just walking around this property. They're good restaurants and fun things to look at and do. Wild life, art, bars, dolphins, swimming, totem statues, you could spend days wandering this property if you took the time to read and see everything. Pretty cool. Huge.

Great place for families. Parking is expensive and the restaurants are over priced for the quality of food. But the resort is expansive with lots of activities and pools for kids. There are always sea turtles in the natural lagoon too.

If you are going to book a stay here, make a meal plan. There is only one restaurant in the hotel open called Nuis. Food is good.
There are very limited amenities and most restaurants in the area are closed, so be sure to make reservations in advance.
Hilton Waikaloa is a nice place for a little getaway, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, there are many disappointing changes. The boats are not in operation, there is only one convenient store at Ocean Tower.
The Staff is kind and do their best. Overall Wonderful Stay.

Great hotel with all the amenities and activitys you could ever hope for. Snorkeled with wild sea turtles and a huge variety of colourful reef fish every morning in the lagoon. Sea view room in the palace tower was fantastic. Only downside is the exorbitant parking charge of $27 a night to park a 15+ minute walk to your room.

Great resort, unfortunately very old. Staff ok but nothing to be emphasized. Prices in all areas too expensive, starting with the drinks and parking! $ 30, - / day because NYC is cheaper with less space! Complex is spacious, pools nice and the view of the ocean, great. Resort Fee, the absolute greatest insolence! SPA was great, although in the basement but with a nice garden area and spacious. Received special rate as a Hilton Honors member (GOLD), but still expensive for sauna, steam bath and gym! Many works of art can be found throughout the resort, sculptures, paintings and beautiful Hawaiian cultural assets. Nice resort, but the prices absolutely not justified.

My family and I got a day pass this past week to use the amazing pools, lagoon and to
do the dolphin experience. We had visited the resort in 2013 and had a great time so we had expectations that the day would be good. We decided to rent a cabana to have a cool place to hang out in when it got really hot and so that we would have drink service. Upon arrival we were greeted and introduced to the cabana attendant who told us he would be take care of us .. anything we needed. He came once awhile later to check if we needed drinks but since it had been quite some time of us seeing him we had gotten our own drinks. The safe that we locked our valuables up in was unable to open half way through our rental and our two attempts to get someone to fix it didn t result in anyone coming by. Overall not great service and not at all what we expected from the Hilton. On top of all this we booked online through the Hilton website the day before and upon arrival saw the cabanas were discounted that day but were not offered the discount rate. Extremely disappointed.

Great service, food, accommodations. We love this resort. The Waikoloa is a great place to hang out or a great jumping off point for sightseeing on the big Island. Golf is awesome, private lagoon, close to some great beaches.

We loved it, only the ocean tower section is not the best. I recommend the other towers. The restaurants are expensive but very good. Italian is the most economical but sit on the terrace. The staff very attentive.

I was only walking through the area because I knew people who were staying here, but what I saw was enough to convince me to never stay here myself. Not only does this monstrosity take 10+ minutes to drive through, but everything is heinously overpriced - $8 for two eggs, $8.50 for tea, and $24 for a Loco moco! To top it all off, there are captive dolphins being kept here for the amusement of hotel guests. It was tragic to see.

$500 a night (on a special) in Lagoon Tower 2 beds, 4 people, a glorious ocean view but next time, if ever again, we would stay in a condo with kitchen as we had done 16 years ago. Location and grounds 5, rooms for the price 3-1/2, staff was great but because of Management and being understaffed Services was 2, I expect to pay high prices for food but the majority of the food was sad and would give 1 star because of the lack of quality, Room for 3,000 guests and they have only 6 wheelchairs available... I'm not sure how this can be legal and made getting around for my wife difficult because we could not get a chair. 1

Dear management... invest in the confidence of your clientele and have longevity in your success.. much improvement needed before I would recommend the Hilton Waikoloa Village

Half the resort closed for renovations after making my reservation. Other than that, it is a nice resort with a beautiful atmosphere. Expect your usual resort prices (~$35 a day for parking, a $30 per day 'resort' fee and a ~$100 a day refundable security deposit)

It s a nice place but everything else is horrible. From staffs that check you in and other employees. When I wanted to check in, it was around 1:30 pm. I told them my wife is pregnant and its really hot. If the room is not ready I am willing to pay more. They told me the check in is at 4 so you have to wait till 4 no matter if the room was ready or not. but others they were checking in at that time and since they booked it directly with Hilton they were ok to check in. I booked through expedia and that was the reason they did not let me to check in till 4.
They sold me an ocean view room but the only thing i was be able to see was the other building they had. Apparently the ocean was behind that building. I called front desk they told me they call me back. They never did call back. I called them again they told me thats the only room we have if you dont like you can leave !!! After waiting 3 hours in the heat with my wife being pregnant, they told me if you dont like you can leave the property. I sent the picture to expedia, they were shocked. Look at the picture , is it an ocean view?

First night of 5. Been to Hawaii a dozen times and 3rd to the Big Island. On a timeshare package . Arrived to be told we did not have a reservation. Front desk fixed their mistake and gave us an upgrade but I am afraid of what our original room would have been like.

Our room air does not cool to the set temp, smells musty and carpet is sticky. Oh and we can hear our neighbors TV-lovely.

Went to the pool closest to our room and asked staff where we might get a beverage and was told across the lagoon .-basically across the bay.

When we made the reservation we were told could park at the timeshare location but were refused a pass. They are more interested in who told us that than making it right. So add on another $150 to our stay.

Takes 20 min to walk or tram to our car.

Timeshare group is trying to make things right but said they are owned by a different company? Don t understand that at all. A bit of the blame game.

Too many negatives to recommend or stay here again.

This review is for the luau only! The show and service is great and totally worth the price in my opinion. As far as the hotel, it's a zoo! I would never consider staying at this place. It's like staying in a giant outdoor mall crossed with a huge mini golf course crossed with Disneyland like decor. So happy we stayed elsewhere for this trip.

We re on our third day here with a 6yo son, having a blast. I obsessed over the choice between Marriott Ohana room, and held reservations at all the towers here before getting Makai at Lagoon tower which I upgraded to an Oceanview king. The main pool and saltwater lagoon are amazing: only negative is they won t let kids ride the waterside with a life jacket which is very unusual (Disney, Marriott all allow/provide this). I m too nervous to snorkel in the ocean but the lagoon is perfect for wimps like me, tons of turtles!! Rented a standup paddle board ($40/hour for guests-they make it sound like Makai gets extra discount but not true)- expensive but a total highlight!

The Ocean and Palace towers aren t as remote as they seem, other than parking, which we aren t making multiple trips even at Lagoon tower.

The Kohala Spa access is included for Makai and apparently as long as you re Hilton Silver you can go in. I don t know if the treatments are worth the high price but free access to the lava rock hot tub, outdoor secluded patio, steam and sauna is a huge perk! That lava rock spa is awesome.

Had pork nachos at the pub twice already, who poke at the poolside cafe, delish.

Excellent room and service: daily restocked Keurig pods save money on morning coffee.

This place would be a total 5star if it wasn t for all the other add-on expenses while already paying top dollar to be here.

I had a very nice time with my family. It was used by 4 families for a long vacation, and unlike the city, the time was flowing slowly, and both mind and body were refreshed. I was worried that the Palace Tower was far from the lobby, but it was not painful if I walked through the garden instead of in the corridor. I rented a rental car from the airport, but the parking was easy to understand and I was able to stop without confusion. The activities are fulfilling, and you can expect services that match the price as a whole.

The good: The resort and the grounds were beautiful. They had a few pools/hot tubs, all which were very nice. Pool slides were fun.

The bad: Be aware they charged $27 a night for parking, which came as a surprise to us. Also, the walk (or tram ride) from your room to your car can take up to 30 minutes(no exaggeration) depending on which building you are staying in. Food and drinks at the restaurants on the resort are severely overpriced. Most only offer pub style with small portions. We chose to mostly eat off the resort due to this. No real beach at the resort, although the lagoon on the property was nicely maintained and had decent snorkeling.
