Worth staying at this hotel if you get a good dinner bed and breakfast deal. I had chicken with haggis on a colcannon mash with whisky sauce. Stayed in a king room. Full Scottish breakfast in the morning. Some rooms are a bit dated so I would avoid paying top dollar for this hotel.
Public areas are plush, but the rooms are a little less for the star rating of this hotel. The bed was creaking and the lights did not work in the bed frame so the room was very dark as there was only 1 ceiling light. We recently stayed in a far lesser star hotel and had a much more pleasant experience. A good place to get your head down for the night but would have not paid much more than we did for the room on a last-minute deal. Good central location with only a 10-15 min walk to the main street and the castle.
Nice helpful and friendly staff only gripe I had is the paintwas peeling badly in the room ,room 109 bed was badly needing replaced as couldn't move with out it squeaking loudly would stay again if not in that room.Evening meal was fantastic and breakfast was superb .
For the price, was expecting middle of the road but was amazed right from the start. Excellent reception, spacious room and friendly staff.
Friendly staff and good food..
Excellent value for what u pay for..
Great location
Food was not nice. Bed was not comfortable woke at 6.30 with bottle bins been emptied. Came for quiet stay aswell. Wont be back.
Didn't get to stay as no one would answer the phone and I prefer to talk to someone, Disappointed!!
