If you sign up to have HALF of your wedding guests from out of town stay at this hotel, Do not expect to get all the great service for your out of town guests that you got while signing up with the hotel. Many of my fiances family and mine had rude Staff checking them in. Plus the main reason we booked the hotel was for the balcony terrace. NOPE - that was UNEXPECTEDLY closed down the whole wedding weekend (with no heads up) and pretty much the response to that from the hotel was "OH WELL"

Hotel was nice and clean for the most part. My sheets had a brown stains on then and the bathroom door wouldn't look. Considering how expensive the hotel was, I don't think the amenities lived up to it. The lobby and gym areas were nice.

I almost cried when I had to leave. Give me that Gossip Girl fantasy that I love. It's just gorgeous. Gorgeous, I tell you. And the half roast chicken and garlic mashed potatoes at the 1600? Please. Plus, the skywalk to GRB makes it possible to stay indoors and avoid the humidity that is toxic to us desert dwellers.

This hotel exceeded my expectations for hospitality. Before I even arrived they sent me a text to let me know they are expecting me and to offer me a discount on spa services. It may have been a computer or person, but either way it was a great touch.
The room was great and came with great amenities. A light did not work over the minibar, but they fixed it very quickly. The view from the Hilton Honors lounge is something I will surely miss.
The doormen that great you when you enter the hotel are so attentive and much appreciated.
Overall, the have lived up to there poster signs of if something is not right let us know . Thanks again for a wonderful in the heart of downtown Houston.

Fancy architecture, but really disappointing as they did not have the room I requested months ago, and very expensive. My room was close to elevators and every few seconds it sounded as if someone was rolling a metal cart across a tile floor, but in my room. Some fixtures in the room were, and are, broken. The in-room coffee maker doesn't work, and found one of those small rubber bands from orthodontic braces floating in the coffee cup. Apparently the cup was not changed after the previous occupant.

They talk a good game though, always very friendly. Update: I texted as requested but they didn't know. As I stated, they talk a good game but can't pull it off.

The restaurant, 1600 Bar and Grill makes fantastic food, but some of the waiters aren't well trained. The onsite Starbucks messed up my order, my room had a little trash left from the previous guest, and the valet didn't give us any instructions regarding where our bags were taken or that there was a $20 fee for a bell hop. The room, service and ambiance is great and the amount of space between the hotel and conference center is massive. It's not a cheap experience, but worth the price.

This hotel is gorgeous. Their art (I imagine like many other hotels with amazing art) pieces were commissioned for this specific hotel. I enjoy the design choices, the colors, and the overall feel of the place. It's quintessential Houston to me - beautiful, warm, and busy.

With that being said, I enjoyed the service, their (room service) food is wonderful (the price matches the quality), and of course, the rooms are just as you would expect to go along with all the other great amenities.

However, when I go to a hotel, I like to relax and enjoy myself, the peaceful surroundings, what have you. This hotel is definitely not for that. This is not to say that I did not enjoy my stay, but there were constantly people roaming the hotel at all hours, from conventions, meetings, shows, etc.

If you're traveling and are prepared for all of that madness, that's awesome, you'll love this hotel. Just be aware that it's not for people looking for peace and quiet.

I learned my lesson, but still had a good experience. :)

Live here 6.6-6.9 18.
The hotel is nice and big, the beds are comfortable. Easy to park for 24$ per night before tax. But the hotel guest service hotline staff, a man was insulting and make us on hold for almost an hour. We called two times and the only word he said was: Can you hold? Then he will cut off the call before we answer. Hope we should have a better conversation next time. This is really bad, hope hotel could give us an apology and would never do this again.

Papasito's is generally pretty good here, but beware of how busy they get. A part of our order was forgotten; I don't blame our waiter though-- he was very nice and as accommodating as they come. This isn't too say you shouldn't go. It's more of just knowing!

We had an awesome stay recently. Would stay there again. Their staff was always helpful and happy. I enjoyed our room, had a great view. The lounge was incredible, lots of great snacks and drinks. Breakfast was always delicious. The view from the lounge was hard to beat though. Awesome simply awesome! If you re an art fan, they had some incredible Chihuly installations. I would have laid on the floor and stared at them all day if I wasn t afraid to get stepped on.

I've stayed here twice now and each time it does not disappoint. Very clean, nice decor, two restaurants and a bar, a Starbucks. I liked my room, lots of elevators. Check in can be slow at times.

The stay was fine until I left my raincoat in my room after I checked out. I called security twice and they confirmed that no one had stayed in the room after me, that housekeeping had only been in the room. I called management, got no response, and never recovered my jacket.
