Friend's invited us to watch the Durango Roller Derby (female) vs Albq's Roller Derby team. It was a blast. I had no idea that Durango even had a team let alone, a Roller Derby team. Thanks Google maps.

The course is beautiful, the price is fair, we had a blast playing with the two guys we were matched with, and 99% of the staff is fantastic. But this is a 3-star review because of two people: a rude ranger and pro shop attendant (perhaps the manager?). At the 6th hole, a ranger told us we weren't keeping pace and needed to hurry it up. We said we would but that we were surprised because we were on about a 2-hour pace (we finished in 2hrs, 10min). We also explained that we had to wait on the 4th tee for a while due to a posted sign that says you can't tee off until the 5th green is clear. His response was a sarcastic, "Did you wait 20 minutes? Because you're 20 minutes off pace." He then shadowed us the rest of the hole and condescendingly told us he would "help us" get on pace -- he did this by pointing out my ball to me (which I saw before he did) and then wouldn't move until I approached my ball. After we finished our round, I decided to ask what the pace is and share our negative experience with the ranger. I was told pace is 2 hours and when I explained we finished in 2h 10m and that the ranger was rude to our group, I was met with an exasperated, annoyed explanation that we were too far behind and that we needed to keep up with the group in front of us. Nothing in response to the rudeness of their ranger; no acknowledgement that we were actually on pace. The purpose of keeping pace is to prevent the golf course from getting backed up -- the people behind us never caught us and often weren't on the tee by the time we were putting. We weren't holding anyone up and 2hrs is a fast pace quite frankly. I've been golfing for over 20 years and I've never experienced such a blatant disregard for the customer. If you disagree with me, fine, but at least be courteous and take the feedback. It's not okay for your staff to make sarcastic or condescending remarks to your customers. Or at least it shouldn't be.

With that said, everyone else was wonderful and the course is great.

If you want to get a drink or anything don't plan on it! The guy at the front desk bragged about how it's pretty much like a private course even though it's public. Um... No it's not buddy!

The course is in great shape and as always the views are awesome. We(foursome) played this course in 3hrs 50min and had marshals pressuring us the entire round. The course is overpriced but willing to pay if the round is enjoyable...to bad the marshals ruined it for us. Will definitely think twice before coming back.

Nice course with some good uphill and downhill holes. A couple of water holes add challenges. A few holes that leave blind second shots are always interesting. The only down side is that the course is very compact area wise. Meaning as a beginner like myself, errant shots that leave the fairway can easily end up in adjacent fairways putting other golfers at risk. Overall, it's a nice course that isn't overpriced like Dalton Ranch and Glacier Club.

Fun course, great views especially after a lite shower, no problem with any Marshalls, accidentally took a demo club home to New Mexico and the golf shop was very understanding about my honest mistake. Will play again and recommend this to all golfers in the area.

Great views of the mountains, and at an awesome price. Casual and laid back atmosphere for any experience level of golfer. Took my girlfriend there for her first 9 and really enjoyed ourselves. The course is challenging enough for an experienced golfer, and the atmosphere isn't intimidating for beginners. I can't reccomend it enough.

Great course, great views. Fairways were wide open and greens were pleasantly tough and Very Fast. The thin air should help you downgrade a club if you're not used to playing in elevations. I found the marshall to be very nice - no trouble at all.

An employee a man, was playing with three women, wouldn't let me play through saying it was ladies day. It was 2:00 in afternoon. There was no one in sight of his foursome. Course was in good condition.
