This tiny theater is freaking adorable! Three of us went to see The Greatest Showman the day after Christmas. It was $20. WHAT?! We got a medium popcorn for $5. It s an intimate little theater that I m told does a lot of community theater and offers movies for a week at a time. The place wasn t even a third full. If you are looking for something to do in town, definitely check this theater out. The staff was super friendly too!

Went to the Buddy Holly show on Friday night. Absolutely one of the best shows we have ever attended. Production was top rate, from set design to costumes. Actors were tremendous, direction on spot. All singers/actors were great, but the man playing Buddy was truly outstanding. And a shout out to the venue. People working there were great, theater was clean, sound was fantastic. A great experience, we will be back

The Highlands Playhouse was a delightful part of our trip to North Carolina this summer! The two shows we saw were highly enjoyable, and there didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house! The box office staff were kind and courteous, and we look forward to making this part of our next trip to Highlands, NC.

While recently back in the highlands for a couple of days to visit my parents I was reminded of the Highlands Playhouse. I was not able to visit this particular time but have on many many occasions in the recent past. This is a wonderful historic theater not for everyone mind you but give it a chance as historic value alone may resonate with you on some level. The manager is able to procure new more mainstream films ( I say this as we have owned homes in the area for close to two decades and the film selection was let's say a bit different prior). While on a project up in Highlands for a year continuously a little bit ago I did attempt to orchestrate an event at the venue with much back-and-forth excetera and the final input offered by me of financially donating all cost for the event with all proceeds going towards the Highlands Playhouse, I was vetoed as they do have a very strict criteria on what events may be hosted there. I was deeply saddened as what an AWESOME responsibility it is to maintain such a historic property. (We decided to donate to other preservation societies that season ) However the venerable Highlands Performing Arts Center graciously offered me their venue but we were nearing the end of the season with limited dates available:( ( something to keep in mind folks if you run into the same roadblock I did).

Update10/22/19 I was just informed by family members that they do NOT allow service dogs with vest and FULLY LEGAL service papers....ugggh. They were turned away recently with a absolute NO.
