High Point Univ. Post Office Review

Wow! Attended open house, this university is doing education right! Clean, spotless, campus, amazing, hands-on, motivated President, excited for you son to attend.

My nephew may be going there on a Baseball Scholarship! Looks fabulous..
Can t wait to visit.)

I'm Lucky to be one of the high point university family..

My nephew is graduating in less than a month now from HPU and he has a job with a PR firm in NYC - a result of internship work and thoughtful advice from some of his professors. My daughter will be attending this fall as a freshman. She has already met her advisor and registered for classes. Her advisor encouraged her schedule a meeting with their Career Planning Office her first week of school in August! HPU has an inspiring campus, a safe place that is beautiful for sure. But they definitely are pushing students to prepare for their futures. They've announced a Center for Student Excellence that will put the Career/Internship Office and other job-related offerings in one place for students to focus. That is suppose to begin construction this fall (just in time for my daughter)!

Health Science and Pharmacy programs are in the works too, but they already have amazing classroom facilities. I just hope I can get a good seat for my nephew's graduation so I can see Steve Wozniak. He's the co-founder of Apple - speaking at the HPU graduation in May.

I wish I could give this place no stars. I'm stunned it's regarded so highly. My class went here on a college tour throughout the Carolinas, and I hated it the minute I stepped onto its overly-manicured, pretentious campus. Our tour guide took us through the rows of brick buildings, emphasizing the dining options and giving lame excuses for the glamorous foyers that adorn every single building on the campus. She stated (and I quote), "these foyers are like really fancy because when you're going for job interviews and stuff you'll likely see a lot of nice foyers like this so we have these so you can be prepared and not intimidated by them, plus, it's just like nice." Honestly, a fancy foyer isn't going to throw you off your a-game at a job interview, an education at High Point will.

Additionally, the tour showed us absolutely nothing regarding academics. We went to two libraries, but they really weren't libraries. Unless you qualify a building void of any books and filled to the brim with leather armchairs a library.

Oh, and the school even has a gaming center, and sports grill that the tour guide openly admitted was likely to serve alcohol by next year.

Is this sparkling campus a facade? Sure it is. It's a way to thinly-veil the clear lack of quality education hidden underneath.

My son is a junior in the entrepreneurial studies program and loves it. Beautiful school but even better is the quality education and professionalism of everyone who works and teaches there.

The faculty here is top notch, providing tons of office hours and time after class to make sure their students are actually learning and understanding the material.

My original review was poor because I was upset with student life, but in reality student life here really cares about their students and they are some of the most accessible individuals whether it is by email or phone. Also they work some of the longest hours I have ever seen which just goes to show their commitment to the students. A big thank you to Gail Tuttle who is the VP of student who really helped me out throughout this whole situation.

All in all it is a wonderful university, this may sound like the schools mission statement but it is truly and environment with CARING people and that is why I am proud to be a High Point University student.

I visited HPU for a business seminar and spent a day being taught by Dr. Nido Qubein on business entrepreneurship. Dr. Qubein was a wonderful speaker, and went through the history of HPU for the past 15 years or so. The positive changes for the university has been incredible. The campus is beautiful, and the staff there is courteous. They're continuing to grow each year. I'm really impressed with this university.

Low star ratings for being a nice campus? Ha. This place is the pride of High Point and you can see purple every where you go. I love that. My favorite 1 star review said, "they don't teach magic, so lame". If you think nice things are "pretentious" what will you do when you do a job interview somewhere nice? That is the question the school is obviously trying to answer at least as an opposition to one review I saw. College should prepare you for the real world. If you plan to be successful you will spend at least some of your career in nice places. Love this place way to go High Point.

This is a comment on the type of students you might run across at HPU: After retiring from public education, I worked at HPU for two years as a study hall monitor in the athletic department. The students I met during my time there were courteous, disciplined and hard working. 99% were great kids! In truth, I believe they bucked the stereotype that "all HPU students are spoiled rich kids.". They have demanding academic and practice schedules.

No University in the United States is as committed to their students as High Point University, I chose to attend HPU after Receiving Scholarship from UNC chapel hill (another great school) with my scholarships both were the same price; Choose a school that fits you, and take advantage of as many opportunities as you can. My advice choose a school that is on its way up! and be careful of schools coasting on outdated reputations.

Very good place to buid your future. Clean and very well arranged inside especially school of pharmacy.

Do not go here!! it is a scam, all people do here is party! multiple people that have gone here have turned in to drug addicts and have had to go to rehab to get clean again. This school is also a joke because they dont arrest or expel students, even when they admit to things. If the cops catch you, all they do is take you back to campus and you get off. This school doesn't teach you any real life school. Don't send your kid here unless you want them to turn in to a drug addict!

My daughter is starting her second year and loves her experience. She is a highly motivated Deans list student and has received outstanding support from faculty members and great advice from advisors and mentors. She is also on the varsity track team and has had the benefit of great coaching and support. As parents we have made several trips to campus and to track meets and are 100% sure that for our child HPU is delivering exactly as advertised.

My son attends HPU and enjoys it very much. I believe that this university instills character building from the moment a student walks on campus. The classes are challenging but not impossible because of the teachers commitment to their students. When I went to college I knew the president of the school because the library had a picture hanging of him never met him once. The president at HPU is involved daily with all who attend. His deep concern for every student goes beyond anything I have ever experienced. Quality leadership, education, and morality makes HPU the best. We feel blessed to have our son attend.

From what I've seen and heard from not just the people who are employed by the school, but parents, students and of course my daughter it is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to apply themselves and get the best education possible!

High Point University is a phenomenal institution. With top-notch professors, a breathtaking campus, and a diverse and unique body of students, this forward-thinking school prepares students for their future on an individualized basis, and earns its spot among the pantheon of pristine Carolinian colleges and universities. Here, there is something for everyone: from a beautiful and thriving Greek Village, to a chamber dedicated to video game development, to fitness centers in almost every building on campus, or Victorian rooms of elegant furnishings and quiet baroque melodies for studying. As a last note, the faculty of this school is such an astounding assembly of amazing individuals that one might easily be fooled into thinking that employment at High Point University is a requirement for excellence. All in all, this school could quite possibly be the best in the nation, if not the nation of today, then at least the nation as it's going to be.

HPU offers top-notch experiences for its students as well as for the citizens in the local community. It truly is High Point's University.

I really appreciate the fact that High Point has a lot of opportunities to learn things that many people don't think about having to know when they leave college, but the school is just too highly priced for the level of education that it offers. When I went there, the tours focused a million times more on novel things like the on-campus steakhouse or the statues, but what you have to realize is that a large amount of the money paid to the school goes into that instead of hiring top of the line professors or the highest end technology. I personally don't think high point is really worth its 36,000+ cost.

The way you and the Police handled the death of Robert Tifton is just TERRIBLE.! I would highly discourage anyone from enrolling in your school .

My son is a student at HPU. Love the campus and the support each student receives from their professors as well as the success coaches. The success coaches are available to their students at all times. It is the the perfect place for our son.

HPU is totally focused on the student from orientation through graduation the entire staff walks by the students side.

Don t go here or you ll end up dead especially if you try to pledge.

First year international freshmen, it's all it's hyped to be. The education is seriously under-rated in these reviews. Good vibes from the staff and student population, campus speaks for itself and there are a ton of academic/professional opportunities (like getting an internship your first year). Great college, keeps getting better.

I have had two of my three children graduate from HPU. The third one just finished freshman year. The experience, the academics and how they have learned about life has been Outstanding. If there were 6 stars, I would have rated it a 6.

Money may buy everything faculty, students and their families want in everyday life, but it damn sure can't buy morals! Good luck with all that.

What a beautiful college campus! While in town my GPS told me to take a shortcut thru the campus and so glad I did!

Classical music playing outloud outside! Beautiful statues of famous people who were all a big part of history and were smart and inspirational people. It was really cool to be able to sit right next to them on the bench. Takes you back in time...

I was impressed with this u I resort from the moment I stepped onto the campus for my sons orientation. The focus on the students success was spoken of in each segment of the orientation and a part of the entire staffs focus. The school provides every opportunity for each student to have all of the tools needed to be successful in life from the moment they start along with providing the Christian values needed as well.

I am proud to see my son at this university, the campus is gorgeous, the staff members and professors are very caring individuals and the entire campus focus is " Be Extraordinary", to me that is setting up every student up to become Extraordinary, that's amazing.

As a Senior at this extraordinary school I am extremely lucky to go here! High Point University has given me three great years and I have loved every minute of them. Not only is it a beautiful campus but it is filled with wonderful people who truly do care. A person can not simply get a good idea at what High Point University offers off of a review, so please explore for yourself how great this university is.

My daughter is an alumni, graduate of 2012. She had a wonderful experience at HPU. I as a single mother, was very worried about my only going off to college. We went on a 3 day road trip at the end of her junior year in high school. Looking at schools from Elon, Greensboro College, Greensboro A&T, to Wake Forrest. Just stumbled on HPU, don't know how but we did. We were sitting at the stop light right outside of the campus. She told me to turn in here, HPU was having an Open House that day. We followed, the crowed. Went in the auditorium. We came out, she looked at me and stated. This is were I am going for the next four years. I am going to do early action and early decision. This is were God is telling me to go. So we did, and we had a wonderful experience!! AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE......

So my Boyfriend and I are Planning to attend this school. Since he lives in Ohio and I live in Georgia. I just Really Want to know if going to this college isn't a waste of time, gas, and money. Is this a good school???

My daughter was recently accepted and we ve toured the campus and attended an open house. The campus is beautiful and they offer practical skills that apply to the real world. HP is ranked highly by independent sources. I ve read all of the google reviews and the only low ratings are from people who aren t actual students. Informed opinions (students and their parents) seem to be 100% 4-5 Star and
I value them more than someone who was dragged to a campus tour by their HS.
