Historical and was built by the British, this is the oldest high court of India. The area is quite big. New annex building built later on are the centenary building and the sesquicentenary building (opposite to Netaji Indore stadium). Every thing is good apart from the lazy working culture. However, the Judges do their best in order to improve work culture.

It is not on a tourist itinerary but one of the most beautiful heritage building of Kolkata. Unfortunately public is not allowed to enter such a magnificent building. you can enter with a gate pass. The court rooms specially the court of the Chief Justice with the heritage paintings, the sessions court, court no 12, with the Jury Bench, Accused enclosure ( which is believed to be connected with the Police Headquarters at Lalbazar by a underground tunnel) through which political and sensitive prisoners were brought to Court for trial so that no one can see or reach them. And the Admiralty Court where the Master of the Court would summon, is a theatrical performance.
Brilliant work of architecture. Poorly maintained though
