I've always found the food extremely good here and again it was excellent except for the salad dressing..it was just off.Since I eat mostly fruits and veggies except for special occasions like this, I'll just skip their salad. The food is served family style and it is impossible to go away hungry.
The atmosphere is country and especially charmlng this time of the year with the Christmas decorations. if you have never experienced Hickory Bridge Farm Restaurant you need to come and treat yourself. The meal is a little over $20.

An annual dining location for Thanksgiving travels...

An annual dining location for Thanksgiving travels, the owners remembered us after a year. That's before you get seated in the rustic barn setting. Farm fresh family style dining doesnt get much better than this! Not just service, but quality of service is the key here. The menu changes often, and options are many. Since its family style, you get them all. A delicious side salad started the course of chicken cordon bleu, Virginia honey ham, cheesy crab casserole, and literal farm fresh green beans, apples, peaches, parmesan crusted potatoes, carrots, and hushpuppies. If you have a hearty appetite, ask for more. You will be happily served your favorites of the evening. There are about a dozen dessert choices, some year round staples, some seasonal. I'm a fan of chocolate mousse, and it's quite good here! Not the cheapest option, but you absolutely get your money's worth here.

Tldr? Food: 5/5 atmosphere: 5/5 price 3/5. Go!

Sadly a lot has changed. Everything used to be homemade and I'm not sure that is the case anymore. No bacon on the salad!
And please advise the wait staff not to ask " do you want your change?" Very rude

The atmosphere is wonderful. The old barn and all the original attributes are really amazing. The food is served family style and is prepared in the traditional Pennsylvania Dutch style, rather bland, meats are always over cooked and side dishes lack flavor. They are rather stingy with refills and service can be slow. For almost $25.00 per person, even the unique opportunity to dine in an old barn doesn't justify the price.

Generally a great experience. Staff was very friendly and food was mostly good. Tonight's meal included pork ribs which were dry but everything else was excellent. Recommend stopping by the general store on property. Even if you don't buy anything it's a cool trip down memory lane. Would visit here again.

After a quick google search, I selected Hickory Bridge as the perfect spot for a quick overnight. We stayed in one of the cottages and were so pleased! The room was updated the bathroom gorgeous and to be alongside the creek in the quiet solitude was so peaceful. The next morning we had breakfast at the house, and Mary Lynn did not disappoint! The standouts were super creamy cream of wheat with a cherry sauce & granola, and then the homemade peach jam. We will absolutely go back!

What a wonderful place. Staff was absolutely friendly and fabulous couldn't ask for any better. The food was absolutely amazing. Unsure or should I say I can't remember the name of the crab or seafood dish but it was the best I've ever tasted. Yes I do understand that coming from Colorado that's really not saying much but it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was very pleasant.

Love the farm house, hospitality and most of the food. Served family styles and you can eat as much as you want. Try to go around Christmas time, it is a nice place to have a day out around Gettysburg and have a family style dinner afterwards. We love everythings on the menu except pork chop.

Hickory Bridge B&B was an absolutely amazing experience. The newly renovated cabins are decorated with high end, luxurious finishes while keeping a relaxing and home like atmosphere. The food and service is beyond excellent. Rocking on the rocking chairs while listening to rushing water of the picturesque mountain stream and enjoying a glass a wine from surrounding local wineries is an great way to escape stress of everyday life. Close to golfing, skiing, and historical Gettysburg there is plenty for families and couples of all ages. Hickory Bridge has the best priced accommodations around. I highly recommend booking your get away now!

We had the fried chicken and roast beef. While ife really loved hickory bridge in the past, this time was very much a sub-par meal. The food seemed catered. Like the chicken was in a bin in the kitchen keeping warm for awhile, along with everything else. The roast beef was dry and tough. The spiced peaches, rolls we're good. The crab imperial is imitation crab meat. I feel like there should be some disclosure.

Food was good but definitely not worth the price. Service was ok but not the best. You pay alot of money but can't take any food home with you. So unless you can eat alot don't waste your money.

Really great, locally sourced, family style restaurant. The facility is beautiful, staff is friendly, and the price is right on point. Have been there before and would love to return. Place fills up fast, and I believe that reservations are recommended if not required.

Hickory Bridge Farm was the best restaurant I've been to EVER!!! It was originally a Civil War barn turned into a restaurant, with fresh family style foods that you share around the table! If you're in town do yourself a favour and check it out! You won't be disappointed!!

Wonderful historic (very, very old) barn resturant is set in. There are so many interesting artifacts they have on the walls and the train that runs around the top of the main dining room is really fun to watch. The food is homemade and served family-style and is absolutely delicious! You will never run out because everything is refilled. Waitstaff are all very friendly and keep on top of refills (food and drinks.) Check the website or call them for specials as menus change frequently. You won't be disappointed if you take the short trip from wherever you are to try them out!

Atmosphere was great, very authentic. Food was okay, most of it was cold by the time it came out. The turkey was not very good, was too tough to eat. The carrots and green beans were delicious. Service was wonderful, was in a huge party and they did an amazing job considering there were 13 of us, with almost half being children.

My family I visited for dinner for the birthday celebration of a family member. We were seated right away since we had a reservation. The place was pretty packed. The decor of the old farm house mostly consisted of old cooking utensils, and the lights are made from old wagon wheels. The wait staff was very friendly and attended to our group as soon as we were seated. The did not do drinks in the regular manner you'd see at a restaurant. The offered only tea, lemonade, or water. They also had a wine menu but not readily available. The start of the meal was rolls, but it felt like they didn't bring enough for everyone. There was a salad after which consisted of only lettuce with dressing. It was a very sad looking salad, but the lettuce was at least fresh. The dressing was decent. The only dressing offered though was the house dressing. The meal itself is served family style with free refills on all items. We had beef burgundy which was way overcooked, dry, and flavorless. I'm pretty sure it was made with frozen beef preformed patties. We also had crab imperial, and home made fried chicken which were both good. The sides included sweetened carrots, corn fritters, brocolli with cheese, and cinnamon and sugar apples. All of which were good but not exceptional. They were very accommodating for my son with allergies and made an entire meal just for him which was awesome. He rarely can go a restaurant and get full from the meal, not so with this place. This is what pushed this average place up to 4 stars for me. In the end though I don't know that I would go back or recommend this place to anyone except for family get togethers. The price is on the higher side for dining at $27 per adult and $11 per child. The food was just decent, and the experience wasn't that memorable.

Hickory Bridge Farms has such charm! The employees welcomed our family for my Uncle's 80th birthday with warm hospitality. The service was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a large party, but they were able to meet each and every guest's needs. They made sure we had plenty to eat and drink. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truely pleasant dining experience.
