Breakfast with a baboon was amazing. Highly recommended. Staff was knowledgeable and super friendly.
We attended the Boo at the Zoo event on Halloween night. The staff did an outstanding job making the tour mysterious but not scary. It was exciting and educational. With all the things that have gone wrong this year, Hesperia Zoo got this right!!
We just attended Boo at the Zoo for 2020. It felt pricey when we reserved the tickets,. But it was worth it in the end. The staff dressed up great, they had the place very clean, and well decorated. It was nice and dark to keep the atmosphere spooky and we got to see all the animals up close without getting crowded by too many other people. The kids loved petting the creatures and hearing ghost stories, and of course getting a generous amount of candy. Well done. I love supporting local animal rescues and zoos.
The tour guide wasn't friendly or knowledgeable about the animals. I looked forward to seeing the white Bengal tiger & when we got there she told us he was out on an assignment, also the entire back where the mountain lion and wolves were she said were closed & she avoided the ostrich all together so i felt the tour was a disappointment.
The should have something more up front advertising that its a zoo
Nice small zoo. Loved all the information we recieved about each animal. Tourist guide was very knowledgeable of the animals.
Cute Halloween tour with really fun stories and facts about each animal. We loved it and will go next year. :)
Surprising range of animals. Tigers, monkeys, camels, wolf. One hour guided tour. Inexpensive and kids will love it.
I went to home depot to buy gutters rain season are the most impotant thing that happen to hesperia im so exited
Love that it is local but I would NOT return. They did not show us all the animals. They cut the tour short like by 15 minutes. The $20 charge for feeding the animals is not worth it at all!
Been living here for a year and just found this gem! Not very large nor fancy, but a great experience! They claim to have animals from 6 continents and I believe it. Most are rescue animals and some are famous (been in movies...etc). The staff is wonderful and friendly and warn you about the lama that just may spit. You can get tickets from Groupon even though their prices are not bad to begin with. This place is great for kids of all ages and takes about an hour (guided tours only). Not very handicap friendly but doable, my dad's scooter got stuck twice in deep sand. Worth the time to stop by - we'll be back!
Did a guided tour today around 3pm all animals were active..freaking awesome ...
Near schools and easy to visit on line schedule visit appointments only
Just the photos alone make me feel sick and angry. How anyone could visit this animal lock up is beyond me!
An amazing experience. I recommend it for everyone. Its like a one and one experience and you are able to feed many animals. Will come again
Went for a tour it was about an hour. There are actually quite a bit of animals! More than just the ones I took the picture of. The tour guide told alot of really interesting facts about the animals. Fun for adults and children! 7$ for adults and 5$ for children and seniors, free for children under 2. Addicitonal charge for the feeding frenzy which looked really fun! They fed the camel, tiger, leopard, and ring tail lemur. It was so fun! I'd definently reccomend going!
Kids loved it and I learned interesting information
My family really enjoyed this zoo. The zoo keeper was very informative and made us have a great time.
Hidden gem of the high desert. Very nice staff and beautiful animals.
Fun place to visit. I just wish we got to see all of the animals. It's a hour tour
Can somone please explain to me how this is okay to have these exotic animals in such small inclosures? I really want to take my child here because he loves animals but were both looking at the pictures and drove by the place and wondering how this is okay to have a tiger in such a small inclosure? Even my 10 year old was concerned. Im wondering if there is a different area for them to roam. I dont understand how this is even legal to have them caged up this way if they cannot afford a bigger space for the animals why have them, this seems cruel. This business should be shut down!
The animals are very well taken care of, plus the workers are very knowledgeable about them aswell
Was an amazing great experience! Jess was our tour guide! And my littles one and even the oldest enjoyed it!!! Will definitely be going again!! Highly recommend!!!
I wanted to volunteer because that's something I love to do. It's not about the applauses , it's about the cause. The only thing I thing its dumb, is that we have to pay 25 dollars to volunteer. I mean were working out of the kindness of our hearts and for free. Now we're paying them to work for them. No fair . That place is great. The tour guide let go of the deer for us and that was fun. We got up close and person to them.
To look at rarer animals locally it is cool. But is on the more expensive side.
Over all a great place to take the family close to home!
great hour with my young one.great info on these animals
For a small zoo it was a great experience, my kid love how close we could see the animals, the tour was very personal and with learning facts for kids.
We enjoyed the guided tour. Nice breezy day. Best time to go is either 10am or the 4pm feeding frenzy tour. Good family fun.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extremely well maintained, with healthy and beautiful animals. Not expensive either. My family and I had a wonderful experience, they will see us again for sure.
Great place friendly staff, great cheap & fun a must go
Great people, interesting and fun thing to do to break up a long drive. Kids loved it.
Nice little zoo, it's really great because the tour is guided and she did an amazing job!
The cages are too small for these animals. I really hope they let them out(though I doubt they ever do).
Small local zoo with so much to see for a great price. Please come early and on time for the tour people !
Great place, awesome animals and very well treated, staff friendly and great with the animals . Must see.
Not a fancy zoo, only 10 acres with a small selection of animals in Hesperia. BUT... . the information from guide, Tiffany and the ability to get up close and safely to animals made it more than worth the drive. With a lifetime of zoo visits and many Animal Planet shows, thought we knew it all, but we learned so many facts we were unaware of previously from Tiffany - great tour guide!!!! At the end, she told us that was only her 2nd tour, we would have thought her 100th!! This is one very knowledgeable and personable young lady!! You may read that you cannot wander around by yourself and that is good. The information and anecdotes on the tour make the visit more than worthwhile!! Thank You Hesperia Zoo!
It is well kept up and the staff is friendly. Its a nice place to have an outing with the kids. My daughter went to the zoo camp and she loved it.
Got a great deal through Groupon. They ask you to arrive 15 minutes early and wait outside a fence. It's right in the middle of a Hesperia neighborhood, so random but convenient. The tour girl was great! Definitely a fun place to visit if you're in the area. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is because we didn't get to see all the animals, not sure why. But, there's a bear, wolves and some other monkeys in the back we didn't visit. That was disappointing. Overall a neat place to visit and bring the kids.
For a small zoo they put on a good tour. We enjoyed our "Boo at the Zoo" night.
You get to be up close to all the animals there. Get place for kids.
Nice little tour. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff
Wonderful zoo! Nice staff, clean facility, animals are all healthy, happy, and love to interact with the touring groups. My husband and I did the feeding frenzy tour and we loved it! Will definitely recommend and plan to go again!
great place to take the family to see some amazing animals
Liam loved it!! So did I!!! The Boo Zoo was awesome
Great for the little kids. And a very inexpensive trip to enjoy watching your children learn about the animal kingdom.
Love hearing the Tigers at night and donkeys in the morning
I love that this gem is local. So close to home. I took a 5 yr old and 7 yr old. They really enjoyed seeing the animals. I did too. D. the tour guide was great! Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She handled the animals with care. We did not purchase the Feeding Frenzy, however, that gives us a reason to return
Lions, tigers and bears. This little know gem has a surprisingly diverse group of animals. It is a weekend only one hour tour that is low priced. Kids can feed some of the animals too
We had an awesome feeding experience, will definitely go again!!!
It's was a really fun experience!! The guide was really nice. Lots of animals to see. It was really big too! I really Recommend it!
Great place. Worth the extra money to do feeding frenzy. Staff so sweet. I always use a Groupon when I go.
We did the Boo at the zoo and it was really cool seeing the zoo at night. Now we didn't get to see all the animals but we did have a great time
It was very convenient because off its location. For one adult and a child it was 12 dollars. It was an hour and so mins to get through the tour. The animals were amazing. Actually seeing them in person was pretty cool! Took lots of pictures.
It was a great time for us and the kids. Our tour guide did a great job. It was a lot of fun. I know my kids are going to beg us to take them back.
The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Very good experience.
Animals + High Desert + Twilight Zone = Hesperia Zoo. This place is super fun, but it's not the kind of place you'd go on a regular basis because of the guided tour. I will say, the tour guides mix it up and always have different things to share and tell the guests. I have always wanted them to sell some sort of annual pass that would allow us to roam as desired, and see the animals more regularly. But the fairly rehearsed tour, makes it somewhat repetitive, so we usually only go about once a year. Fun nonetheless, and I'll always enjoy ignoring and then giving that darn baboon one last look that will keep him from flipping out. I will say, this is not the kind of place you'd let your little ones run loose in. The fences and enclosures don't look quite zoo worthy, but are effective. I usually hold the kids hands and keep them close.
This is a neat location, with a fun story, and every animal has serious character. I'm sure the behind the scenes tour is gritty and exciting. Always a treat. If you live in the desert, you must go! Might not be worth anything longer than a 30 minute drive though.
This is an awesome little gem and our tour guide d was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive!
Amazing Halloween experience, They do an awesome job..... Everyone should experience it this year
Very boring, just a few animals that they show you.
They could advertise the business a bit better cause u honestly can't even tell it's s zoo
Small zoo and offer a guided tour only, but well worth it. Cheap, especially with groupon. Its not a huge zoo like LA, but the bwst thing is you get to see the animals up close. The staff care very much for the animals there and you can tell in their interactions.
As a volunteer, this zoo a gooooood place to see the adorable animals here:). Good staff / workers here:)
