I have never managed to enjoy a show at Her Majesty's. It's too hot, the sound is terrible and distorts, the seats are cramped, and a decent view impossible to find, even if you spend a fortune. I just don't bother going to shows there anymore.

I love walking up the staircase, it gives a sense of anticipation of what is being performed on stage as well as the thought of who has tread these boards before. The bar staff were quick and friendly, moving the thirsty patrons through the queue swiftly. Her Majestys is old but well cared for with comfortable seating.

Amazing performance of Muriel's Wedding. Do the onstage experience. It's amazing. But make sure you get the information sheet. And show up and hour early for the debriefing...the production value on the show was insane. And the company were so powerful.

Great shows, lovely old building with tonnes of character and charm only two down sides need more toilets and more people selling merchandise, drinks etc. the lines for both are terrible. Also need closer taxi rank or better signage to where there is one.

Saw les mis on the weekend, great production.

I'm 190cm+ and found that the seats in row A of the dress circle were roomy enough. Bit hard to squeeze past people's legs to get to the seats but OK once you're sitting down.

I mean... how can you not like this theatre?? Just look at it... LOOK AT IT!! The feeling I get when overlooking the dress circle is the same feeling Darryl Kerrigan felt when looking out over the plains of Bonnie Doon... "How's the serenity"

I saw Aladdin here recently. I loved the look and design of the place. Everything was well maintained. The viewing area doesn't cater for people over 5'10" i.e 170cm. If you're 180cm plus like me, better hope the people behind you don't mind having their views obstructed. It also gets quite hot inside too

What a wonderful theatre. Takes me back to the times of old without compromising on comfort. Sound system is first rate and the show was very classy!!! Melbourne is lucky to have such a place for the public to enjoy live theatre!

It's always great to visit Her Majesty's Theatre for a musical, and this was another great night out - this time, for "Aladdin"! Ticketing was efficient, staff were helpful, and our seats in the third row made for an immersive evening of laughter with an exceptionally talented cast and orchestra.

Older theatre, beautiful architecture and an amazing interior!
A few of the fixtures and fittings could be renovated, but a clean establishment with friendly staff (although different staff the several times I've been)
Overpriced food and beverages, but as much as any cinema/theatre/the likes, do stock up at woollies around the corner!!

The venerable old Her Maj still holds a special place in Melbourne live arts. The decor is lovely and it is holding its age beautifully. The seats are comfortable (I'm sure they are not the original) and every seat has a good view.even up in "the gods". It's always great to hear the next musical blockbuster will be at Her Majesty's as you know the experience will be that little bit better.

Highly recommend the professionalism of Her Majesty's from the very first contact! Ticketek caused me some problems and Her Majesty's sorted it all out and we thoroughly enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

We were seated in the Grand Circle. There is nothing to hold onto when going up and down the steep stairs within the theatre which makes it quite dangerous and precarious, particularly for someone like myself, someone who often relies on a walking stick, however I was not the only one who had trouble with those steps. They did provide cushions for all the young children which was good, they seemed to have a very good supply of them.
