My experience tonight was abysmal. Here I am walking in to gamble with my 'month-end' share and boom, the security guy at entrance shows me some serious attitude. I have been searched viciously at some of the most hostile airports in the world, including Tel Aviv, but not like the way I was searched tonight at Hemmingways Casino. I will never forget walking in there tonight: 20h22 Friday 28 March 2019. Maybe that outsourced security guy, he suspects or had mistaken me for somebody else. I will never set my foot there again!

Very disappointed with the service. Staff was very rude and irritated, rolling their eyes when asked for assistance. At least there was lots of sanitizer available.
This mall is outstanding. The staff in the shops are always ready to help even if their shops are closing. They will still allow you to enter to do a quick shop. Thumbs up to all the workers at Hemingway.
Firstly had a shity super at Cafe Felix with bad service, when the food we ordered came my surf and turf steak was smaller then a chicken wing then I was waiting a whole half an hour to order another drink wich I just never bothered getting. Then went to the casino and had a bored evening there, worst place to spend your birthday at,Never again...
Hemingways casino is located about 5 km from East London Town west of n2. It is a wonderful place with several attractions including a casino. It is a four star hotel and their rooms are about 1600 Rand each. The casino main restaurant is spacious and offers a variety of food and drinks. It is perhaps the the only hotel with a sizable casino in East London.
Great place to meet up and have some fun with great amenities around like Electric avenue for the kids, Movies for the whole family and friends, Food court with great restaurants for a quick meal and Cafe Felix for a drink or a meal with friends and family.
Today my boyfriend and I went to Felix for dinner and a drink because he is going to be out of town so we wanted to go do something. We went there because when we last went, it was Latitude, and we had never been disappointed by the service and the food. We sat down and waited for a while before anyone came to take our drinks order. When the waitress eventually came, I ordered a glass of Baronne and my boyfriend ordered a Draught. After waiting a while for the drinks, she comes back and tells me that they dont have the Baronne but they will check if the hotel has it. We acknowledge this and continue to wait. 40 minutes later... nothing. No food, no draught, no Baronne (the hotel is extremely close to Felix). Eventually, we see the supervisor come back with the wine. We continued to be patient thinking it wouldn't be much longer but we were wrong. The bartender seemed unable to open the bottle and another while longer the draught and the food arrived, still no Baronne. The waitress said the bartender is trying to open the wine. Eventually the wine came and it was accompanied by a white wine glass with ice in it. I asked for a clean glass and it was brought for me (Still a white wine glass). When I started pouring my wine, it had several cork pieces inside. This was now nearly an hour after we sat down. We had been patient but we had now had enough. My boyfriend went to speak to the bartender to show him the cork pieces but he said he wanted to go get change. Eventually the ogetic, however it was too late for the impression that we now had of the place. The supervisor offered me different wine but I was no longer in the mood to stay as it had already been over an hour of a terrible experience. As we were about to pay and leave, the supervisor said we can leave the food and he will cancel the meal. (my boyfriend only had a few sips of his draught, I hadnt had anything to drink since we got there and we had not even made it halfway through our food). Sadly, it seems the supervisor was the only one there who took us seriously. The entire experience was dreadful.
The casino is great. Technicians and assistants are on the ball. No long waiting periods for assistance at slot machines. Waiters also professional and smart. I was very impressed as I visited many casinos over the years.
Initially paid for a romantic stay for 2 - one night + champagne + chocolate + strawberries + cream + movie tickets + free play + rose petals scattered on floor & bed. After 3 hours of struggling with staff I managed to get my cash back seeing they failed on every level to meet the 'special offer that was advertised' a week later they contact us with an apology and complimentary stay (the initial romantic offer) - when we arrived absolutely nothing special - just a boring room and no apology. I'm shocked at the service. Service is pathetic for a 4 star hotel.
Not sure if this casino is OK but hemmingways mall definitely a great place to shop.being inside this mall kind of let's me feel like I am in a mall back home in Jozi
Ordering something as simple as a cooldrink can take up to 45 minutes. Absolutely pathetic... Calling a waitress or waiter can take even longer . Best bet . Go order your drink at the bar. . Much quicker
Fairly good variety of shops with perhaps an over indulgence in cookie cutter clothing stores. The food court could do with some variety but in a pinch, simply get yourself an award winning Friesland milkshake and a Shamrock pie and you'll be fine.
Good Service at casino. Customer care kiosk. Key Largo Restaurant is a sports bar feel and Felix Restaurant is more upmarket with bar and lovely garden for eating or drinks with the girls outside.
Great area. Parking was a problem. neat and clean restrooms. Friendly staff. easy to operate machines. only went for a quick visit to see what's going on. Will visit again soon, want to go watch a movie at their theatre.
