Of all the distilleries we visited this was the one I was hoping would be great. Our tasting was basically walked through super fast.it looks like it's stuck in the 70's.just not the same attention to detail as you would have thought from one of the largest distillers. You could buy branded everything though.

As the largest family owned bourbon distillery Heaven Hill is quite an impressive operation. The grounds more closely resemble a military compound than a distillery as all of their rickhouses are impressively similar and neatly organized.

The "tour" is more of a seminar with a tasting to follow. It was nice after having done numerous other true tours on the bourbon trail, however if this is your first experience at a distillery, you will be missing out on a lot. The tasting is good, and because Heaven Hill produces so many different labels, you get to try bourbon/whiskey from a wide spectrum of recipes (wheated, high rye, straight rye).

You can learn a lot about bourbon from this tour, but you'll definitely miss out on a large chunk of the experience if this is your only distillery stop.

We did a tasting your. They gave us four tiny tastings for $ 20.00. Kind of an underwhelming experience. First distillery we have visited that prices their liqueurs there higher than the local liqueur stores. Our family has visited many didistileries doing tours and tasting and this experience ranks near the bottom.

So far the most expensive tour we have had at $20 per person. We watched a short video and then taste tested some of the products. The guide was fair. I do like that it remains family owned by an American family.

Im guessing they dont make enough..
$10. each for a tour..
They won't tell you if they are Phasing out the FitzGerald brand and replacing it with larceny, which is also good.

Informitive tour-lady seemd a little pridefull and their is the sign

They were practicing for the town barrel roll championship.

Larry was GREAT! Was a few minutes late on last tour start time, but was accommodated with A "private tour". Most knowledgeable and personable tour guide I have ever met!
Tasting was even better! Chocolate was great!
My sincere THANKS to Larry again!

I'm not a bourbon fan at all, so I didn't drink during the tasting but the women who do the tasting were funny, extremely nice and she knew what she was talking about. She could answer every question thrown her way.

We took the $10 tour which included a tasting. Our tour guide, Joann, was great. She was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Lots of goodies in the gift shop. Would have loved to see how the bourbon is bottled but they don't give tours of that.

Visited Heaven Hill Distillery on the Bourbon Trail, what a great experience...fantastic display of bourbon and whiskey stills, excellent historical display in visitor's center, nice selection of merchandise; our tour Guide Holly was personable and very knowledgeable about the distillery and its history; unique round tasting room; rickhouses were a great site to behold: >23,000 barrels of bourbon in one building...do not miss Heaven Hill!

My husband and I were there on Friday, May 27th. I have to say we were very disappointed in our "tour." The only reason I paid 20 dollars for me to do the tour was I thought we were going to walk around and see different parts of the distillery. When in reality we were taken to backroom and shown a video of their past and aspects of making of bourbon. According to the tour description online, we would have been given a history tour of the gallery, which was not fulfilled. We also tasted a bourbon that they were not selling because it was not up to their standards of excellent. We wished we would have tried a bourbon they were selling.

The tour was not as good as several other distillery tours in the area. There is no distillery on site because of a fire several years ago. It is worth seeing if you are in the area and like distillery tours. You only see a storage barn and have a tasting.

They said walk ins are welcome, not true. Two of our tours before hand ran longer than expected so we rushed to their distillery made it there 15 minutes before their last tour at 4pm. They said we were too late that they were already booked. They said their was nothing they could do even after I explained we drove over 7 hours to get there.

I haven't been to the distillery, after only a taste one is legally drunk. Speaking of taste I really enjoyed my Evan Williams Egg Nog this year. It was a bit
'hotter" than last years but the flavor was full bodied and did not disappoint.

I heard from a fellow worker about Elijah Craig and sprung for a bottle early in December. A gift bottle of Courvoisier XO stopped me from opening it earlier. It is indeed as good as described. The oak taste while present is not overpowering, the flavor, ambiance, color, and smell (I don't like the word Bouquet) are world class. It hits about like good scotch. I will enjoy this often with my pipe and music...

A beautiful distillery just up the road from the Willette distillery. Very knowledgeable staff make for a quick tour and tasting. The gift shop is mixed in with interactive information stations that teach about the history of Willette and production of bourbon. Lots of jams and sauces to try along with spices and drink mixers.

Heaven Hill is interesting. They have a small building (looks very cool inside though) that offers many many options. Their tasting room is quite neat. Their products are on the higher priced scale, and they only allow one tasting per person. Otherwise, good experience.

Unfriemdly lady at the register did not give us a choice in tours. We were told it was $20. Sat in a room listening to someone talk then sampled bourbon. When asked about the tour through rickhouses, we were told it was too late. Disappointed

Did $20 tasting. 4 decent options. My only compliant was cleanliness. Holly who was handling the glasses and filling pretzel container was obviously sick. She was sneezing into her hand and then wiping hand on pants. This is unacceptable at anytime, especially during worst flu season in a decade.

Excellent rickhouse tour and tasting. Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Part of the location is under construction but that did not inhibit our enjoyment upon visiting. Worth a trip now and after the expansion is completed! Highly recommend

Quick loading very professional staff.
Big parking area for trucks. Clean restrooms. Only thing is this place is extremely hard to find. Location is not grate at all for 18 wheeler's to get into.
Back 2 lane county roads that twist turn and are not made for semi trucks.
Be extremely carful drivers, lots of blind hills and sharp curvs

This was our first bourbon trail stop and the experience was awesome! We did not have time for the 3-hour distillery tour, but toured one of the buildings where the whiskey is aged in charred oak barrels. The post-tour tasting was outstanding and educational as our guide, Becky, described each tasting and how to appreciate the subtle differences in each batch. The bourbons were delicious and the gift shop was very nice! A "must visit" place!

We didn't get to do a tour because we showed up as the last tour was leaving. Checking out the grounds and the Bourbon Heritage building was very neat. Make sure you get some limited supply bottles while there.

Horrible. Do not ever expect to get your rebate from them. I called their corporate # and left a message for Bethany Sherman, who takes care of these rebate problems (must happen a lot). I will not purchase another Heaven Hill brand again and will do my best to dissuade others! I will be complaining to the FTC and the BBB and would urge anyone else being denied a rebate and not getting funds they are due. My rebate was perfect and I have all proof! I have never not received a rebate from any other company.

About Heaven Hill Distillery

Heaven Hill Distillery: Crafting the Finest Spirits in Bourbon Country

Heaven Hill Distillery is a renowned American distillery located in the heart of Bourbon country, Bardstown, Kentucky. The company has been crafting premium spirits since 1935 and has become a household name among whiskey enthusiasts worldwide. With over 85 years of experience, Heaven Hill Distillery has perfected the art of distilling and aging bourbon, rye whiskey, vodka, gin, and other spirits.

The company's commitment to quality is evident in every bottle they produce. From sourcing the finest grains to using traditional methods of distillation and aging in charred oak barrels, Heaven Hill Distillery ensures that each spirit is crafted with care and precision. Their portfolio includes some of the most iconic brands in the industry such as Evan Williams Bourbon, Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon, Larceny Bourbon, Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey among others.

One thing that sets Heaven Hill Distillery apart from its competitors is their dedication to preserving tradition while embracing innovation. They have invested heavily in modern technology while still maintaining their old-fashioned approach to crafting spirits. This balance between tradition and innovation allows them to create unique flavors that appeal to both traditionalists and modern drinkers alike.

Heaven Hill Distillery's commitment to sustainability is also worth mentioning. They have implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing their environmental impact such as recycling water used during production processes or using renewable energy sources like solar panels on their facilities' roofs.

Their flagship brand Evan Williams was named after Kentucky's first commercial distiller who started his business back in 1783. It was introduced by Heaven Hill Distilleries Inc., which acquired it from Charles Medley & Sons Inc., another famous Kentucky-based distiller known for its high-quality bourbon whiskeys.

Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon is another popular brand produced by Heaven Hill Distilleries Inc., named after Reverend Elijah Craig who was credited with inventing bourbon whiskey back in 1789 when he stored his corn-based whiskey into charred oak barrels for aging purposes.

Larceny Bourbon is a smooth wheated bourbon made from wheat instead of rye grain which gives it a softer flavor profile than traditional bourbons made with rye grain mash bills.

Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey is an award-winning straight rye whiskey aged for four years before bottling at 100 proof (50% ABV). It has won numerous awards including "World's Best American Whiskey" at World Whiskies Awards held annually by Whisky Magazine UK since 2010 until now!

In conclusion,

Heaven Hill Distillery stands out as one of America's premier craft distillers due to its unwavering commitment towards producing high-quality spirits through sustainable practices while preserving tradition yet embracing innovation simultaneously!
