Pressed wrong option. In fact I would not even give it 1 star. There is never anyone available to help customers. Staff are too busy. Clothes are just mediocre and overpriced. Much prefer Penney's for lots of items as of same quality as Dunne's and cheaper

Was just a couple of days over the return period so didn't get a full return. This seems unfair given the current restrictions on trying clothes on, that our nearest Dunnes is over an hour's drive away, that as a front line worker my time off is both rare and precious and I seek to minimise my traveling. Dunnes should follow ASDA and be a bit more considerate by giving 100 days

I think the staff at both Dunnes Stores in Athlone are the friendliest and most helpful you could hope to meet. Their adherence to the Gov. guidelines make me as a senior citizen (70+) feel safe shopping. Thank you to all concerned.

Wide variety of groceries, including veggies and salads. They have their own brand of Italian gelato as well. An hour before closing they also discount the hot food of the day. Quick self-service check-out.

My experience in this particular Dunnes stores of ...

My experience in this particular Dunnes stores of late is less than you would expect from the grocery giant. Recently I had thee rudest checkout operator i genuinely have ever encountered. Item put through at different price to shelf, we were discussing as to whether we wanted item met by a stony "do you want or not" before she physically snatched item off my daughter who enquired as to why she was being so rude as nobody had been to her (no one behind us in queue), she then goaded "so go report me then if not happy" sneering, no one had mentioned complaining so gobsmacked as to what elicited her hostility. A manager was nearby & we did say about her attitude & the manager ( assistant i believe) was less than interested in complaint even when it escalated upon returning to till she asked if my daughter if she was "happy now" and continued antagonising us with him in earshot! I cannot emphasise how unprovoked any of this was in any case i put it down to her having a bad day and returned to store for grocery shop. Today I met the same assistant manager who treated me with same disdain as previously. I had completed a weekly grocery shop, upon reaching checkout and baggng items it came to my attention that i had inadvertently cleared my handbag that morning & thrown out old receipts with money off vouchers keeping an unused outofdate one from week before. I asked could the shopping be held off on the till so i could retrieve the vouchers from home & manager agreed.Admittedly I did say that i would be back in an ambitious 15 minutes however no one was at home that could meet me halfway so by the time i returned it was 45 minutes. The trolley was gone & upon enquiring I was told the items had been put away! The manager came and not a bit apologetic said items needed to go back in fridge, I told him that it was obvious you could see my bags were the thermal insulated kind and I reminded him that i had said i would be back. I felt it was a personal, he was rude kept turning his back walking away on me said "the amount of people that said they would be back and don't", my shop was selected, completed bagged and all why would i not come back? Was upset about this incident, as said felt it was deliberate, personal even and not sure why this manager in second encounter has treated me with such disdain, query if maybe its because from my accent its clear I am not local however i have lived in westmeath for 25 years now and shopped there most weeks. However! in some ways he might of done me a turn as on principle I would not do the shop all over again there so I went to Aldi and did a weeks shop which i wouldn't have usually! purchasing same or equivalent items & came to way less even taking vouchers into consideration! Just going by the Aldi angus striploin tonight Aldi gong forward & no need for vouchers from here on in!
