I would give zero if I could. HMA insurance is the worst. They denied something my boys needed. No compassion at all. HMA is the worst ever!!!!!! I'll make sure others don't sign up with them.

Avoid HMA at all costs. They do not want to support women. They avoid reimbursing for breast pumps. Do not trust that they will reimburse you.
I can never get a straight answer from them about my insurance or providers. Their doctor search is completely out of date. When I found a doctor they would not tell me if they were covered. This is a bad company with no concern for their members. I wish my employer would dump them. I will be cancelling my insurance and going back to paying out of pocket for my care.
My daughter who used to work for you so sorry you didn't believe her about her mother passing and what kinda of place ask for a death certificate who does that owell your loss she now has a better job Jessica and Steve
Very poorly trained Reps that are over worked. No one follows through. I have to fax claims and other documents 3 times or more to get dates of service paid. The faxes are not attended to unless I call back to see if they have been received instead of someone working the faxes as they arrive. Very chronic and very disappointing to interface as a clinic biller. Maybe worse insurance out there currently
HMA is a wonderful place to work!! The whole atmosphere is positive and customer care is a top priority!! Our members get a live person within seconds of their call and quality care and correct answers to their questions. I'm proud to work for such a quality employer.
I have spent hours of time with customer service. I have also spent hours of time on the insurance website portal, for which they refer you for information. I have received incorrect information in both places. It has listed a provider as in-network on the website, to find out it was out of network when speaking with the provider. If I had a choice, I would go somewhere else.
I m being back billed for visits that I had over two years ago and I haven t even had revenue in over three years. I can never get through let alone do they ever know what they re talking about. Awful!
Our daughter was born in July and now 8 months later are still having issues. HMA messed up on six different appointments that totaled $13,000+ in over charges. I have spent way too much time combing through each transaction to then dispute the charge.
HMA dragged their feet so much on one bill, that the hospital sent our account to collections, despite me keeping them up to date that HMA was going to "make the payment soon".
I recently had our HR Director bring up these issues with HMA and their response was "Well it looks like everything is correct now."
If I could give a 0 stars I would. Want the worst insurance ever, sign up for HMA. They are still haven't paid for my surgery over 5 months later. After 6 phones calls they now say I didnt do something and claim is denied. Funny how it took 6 calls for that. What happened during all the other calls, when they guaranteed everything was done and being paid for? And have I ever been contacted to do said item I didn't do? That's a big NO!
I so appreciate the excellent assistance I have received from Brandon in the Cobra Department. He is very good at his job. He is patient and very knowledgeable. Thank you Brandon!
