This was the worst experience I have ever had. After waiting in line for over three hours, watching unmanaged employees fumble about with no idea how to handle crowds of 4000+ ( which btw, they don't disclose, don't say I didn't warn you), you couldn't pay me to come back. They don't allow water past the gate, and you'll be forced to wait hours without it. I have stitches in my mouth from a prior surgery and was denied water for over two hours. This is outrageous. Not to mention the lack of bathrooms. Be prepared to wait, wait, and wait some more. I've never been to such a poorly run establishment and am highly disappointed. I will never be returning here again.

This review comes from me.... a person that has been to many haunted houses and has also worked at them. We drove 5 hours to visit this haunted house on a Saturday night expecting a top notch haunted house as all the advertisement and reviews claimed and was disappointed
Corny story line, bad animations and animatronics, 1 chain saw and no real horse
we spent the extra money for the scream pass which i do recommend, some people were waiting 3 hours without that pass

P.S do not expect to see a real headless horsemen on a real horse

Have been to HH several times over the last couple of years. For $60 on a Premium night... not worth it. The lines were atrocious and the scream pass or fast pass made the wait 10x longer for general admission ticket holders.

The hayride was okay... if you sat on the one side. All of the action took place on one side, so if you sat on the other side, not much happened.

Post hayride, each house/attraction had some actors in it that I thought would pop out and scare me. Some were more humorous, but some just stood there and did not even do their job. At first, I thought it was me, but I waived my hand at one of the actors and he/she waived back...

I am not one to leave a negative review or a review at all, but I felt that this was important for HH to see. It s not fair that some may travel over 2 hours to not even be scared at all. The chainsaw guy at the end just stared... I thought he was supposed to run after us like he s done in the past!!?? I use to come here many years back and leave petrified and thrilled! Now I m frustrated and upset that not much happened.

On a more positive note, the details, props and decorations were phenomenal! They definitely upped that game!

I just hope in the following years, there are more pop outs and that actors aren t afraid to scare us, as that is EXACTLY what we paid for!

Happy spooky season, 2019... I was not spooked this season

You will spend 90% of your time here in line. If you drop a whopping $25 extra you can bypass lines, but jeez that makes for an expensive evening. If you don't spend the extra money, you get to stand in line forever because the people who did spend the money immediately go in front of you. This place is a rip off.

Not sure what the point of ticket times are--they need to seriously rework their scheduling system. I bought 3 tickets for 9:45pm , ended up waiting 3 and half hours in line (while raining). Ride started at 12:30am and lasted for less then 30 minutes--the effects were antiquated, lackluster, and just not cutting it. The maze, mansion, houses were all very bad. There are much better haunted style events out there...avoid this disaster.

I went to Headless Horseman after hearing lots of good things but, sad to say I left disappointed. For $50 a ticket I was expecting to be scared at least once. Like other reviews have said, you end up being in a huge conga line going through all the houses so none of the (very few) actors even have a chance to scare you and the ones that seemed like they did just sat there trying to be creepy. The haunted houses were very detailed and had a lot of animatronics but you don t really get to look at everything because there s a line of people behind you. Wasn t worth the drive and money in my opinion.

"A Frosty Fest" - was a HUGE let down! Porta-potties were filthy and what made matters worse was the fact they had no lighting in them! Really long lines, especially for "Santa's Mansion" which was not at all worth the wait. Our kids were even telling us it was a rip off. Hopefully they can up their game a little more next year considering how much money they must make off this thing.

If I could give more stars I would. I go every year with my daughter for the last 4 years and we are never disappointed. A very organized event in regards to parking and safety. Worth every cent to get scared and enjoy the beauty of the property. Clearly a lot of planning, creativity, heart and soul put into this family owned business. KUDOS, and keep up the fantastic work. See you next year.

Went here years ago it was great, yesterday, I wasn't impressed. Most of the actors really weren't being scary and didn't engage much. To me, that's what makes a haunted attraction great. Some didn't even move. Their timing was all off, too. Need more scares in the corn fields. Also, we only saw the horseman for 10 seconds. Don't sit on the front of the hayride. The actors on foot only scare the people toward the back. There were a some good actors though but not enough.
Decor is excellent. Love the way the way scenes are set up all over. The rooms are very elaborate. 5 stars on that!
DO NOT EAT THE FOOD! I got a burger, my sweetie got pizza. We both had stomach aches for hours. We were both wishing we didn't have such a long ride home feeling like we were gonna puke.

It was my 1st time there 10/06/18, and I had fun with my daughter. She screamed the whole time I don't have scare fright, so I didn't really have an reaction but I enjoyed hanging out with people I didn't know and seeing other having fun and enjoying themselves. The Haunted House Team & Police did an GREAT JOB in my book. I was cut off guard a few times but had to keep moving lol but the Hayride in the pitch dark got me 3 or times but I loved it, we will gladly come again next year 2019. :)

All the aesthetics were VERY well done. The drive through was cool. Everything was very organized and well put together. This was my first haunted house, and the bar was set pretty high from this.

Just went to the headless horseman this past weekend, everyone in my group was excited but the problem was not sure if it was due to the weather or not but the lack of actors this year or actors not acting was the worst , also half the pneumatic props weren't working! And how do you pride yourself on being the headless horseman haunted houses and hayride when you only see the headless horseman for 2 seconds? Will give it a try next year but hope things improve

The hayride was okay I feel like it could have been more scary but I could understand due to actors safety they cant go over board but still is was a little dull.

The haunted house were great ! I was screaming all night ! The actors chased me in almost every house I went into and it was great. (:

More actors with special effect makeup I feel should be outside by the stores and food area just so people can take photos with. But besides that I had a great time!

Drove from Morris Plains (1 hour 20 min drive) -- so not worth it. I guess it's cute if you have VERY small children. Very long lines and only cash accepted at the concessions. It was also pretty pricey considering what we got for our $$.

My husband and I were there this evening (10/12/19). The attraction as a whole was good. The props were absolutely amazing, however the lack of actors was disappointing. I was truly was only surprised 1 time. The rest of the time was spent looking at the scenery and props. I just think a haunted house attraction should be more geared toward scaring than the attractions.

Really a very well done and executed haunted house! This was my second year going and I thought it was even better than the first time! Tickets are a bit pricey but I don't mind paying for such a great experience! Will be back with others next year for sure!

It was a great experience start to finish. Customer service was fast to answer any questions we had and made rescheduling easy when our tour was cancelled due to heavy rain. Out group felt safe attending all of the included attractions, since they are enforcing mask use and social distancing. A great value for the price of the ticket - it s so much more than a hayride. We spent a total of 3 hours enjoying all the haunted attractions and at the end there was a fantastic illusionist show! I will definitely go back!

Family and I went to the Frosty Fest. The hayride stopped half way on the trail for over half an hour. There we sat in freezing temperature, no explanation. We asked the girl who worked there what was going on and she just shrugged. Ended up just walking back with the disappointed children. Frankly it ruined the whole thing. After sitting in snow covered hay for that long, is hard to enjoy festivity.

This was our first year going. The hayride was so much fun. They put a lot of work into their attraction. After the hay ride you enter "The Motel" which leads you to 3 or 4 of the other haunted house and the haunted corn maze Quite a few jump scares. there were a few other haunted houses after that with an illusionist performing while you were standing on line so you weren't bored at all. Actually you were hoping the line would move slower so you could watch him. You can go stand in front of his stage and watch if you prefer to All in all we had such a great time and we will be visiting every year from now on. A little expensive but having a good time with family or friends is priceless. Great Job Guys! One thing. It could use some added fear. Maybe a total darkness house with actors in it. That would be awesome. Still a great place to visit. We will see you next year.

For those that read my reviews, you understand that I am very analytical. I will give that perspective. I attended on a Saturday. I was busier than you would think. There are lines to wait in, so bring your patience. For the experience itself - I do not get creeped out by anything, guts, meat, etc. There will be jump scares a plenty. If you are like me, you go in to the mode of watching out for these. It "ruins" the experience. I try to interact, I make excessive eye contact with the actors which throws them off. If you can suspend disbelief you will have a great time. Go first into the haunted houses - do not follow others. You will enjoy it much more.

We have been driving down from Southern Maine for the past 10 years to attend this attraction. Its by far the best Halloween display anywhere. Hollywood quality props and the mass of this place is the size of a small town. Actors have amazing outfits and are well trained. This is a multi million dollar facility so plan to be blown away. No matter how busy they get there is ample parking and everyone is well directed and the process from beginning to end is well thought out. Every year the add and change things up so the theme is never the same. Lots of side shows, gift shops and great food on site. We buy scream passes to cut to the front of the lines which will shave an hour or so between all the attractions. Don't let the price throw you off because even with scream passes we typically spend 3 hours on site going through all this place has to offer. If your traveling here plan ahead as the local hotels get filled up months in advance and we have found staying an hour north in Albany gets us a nicer stay with less hassle. We plan to make this a continued visit for years to come!

Cons: Expensive, Long Lines, Little/No enterainment in lines, acting was hit/miss, filthy port-a-potties, they pack hayride so full some people have to sit in middle (sitting in the middle sucks), can see many of scares coming....

Pros: Great Theming, lot's of detail, fun atmosphere, lengthy, enjoyed magician show, food was expensive, but good.

Overall we enjoyed it, but they either need to manage crowds better or provide in line entertainment. For $50 they shouldn't pack people in the middle section of the hayride. It's tough to see things and you get no interaction with actors.

They did such an excellent job this year. Took me approximately 2 hours to go through everything. I loved it all. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because there were 3 girls that weren't in my group behind us and they kept holding onto me, smashing, pushing and bumping into me through one of the houses making it a very unpleasant experience. I yelled at them quite a few times to stop, nothing. They shouldn't let groups that close together. It took alot of effort on my part, not to get hurt or fall because of them.

i have been to the headless horseman for many years and this year i was extremely disappointed. i totally understand that due to covid certain things were not permitted. The car drive through was a great idea if they had more actors actually scaring you. the decorations were great but it was not scary at all. so once we finished the car ride we were directed to begin the haunted houses. the haunted houses and corn maze were nice but not scary at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they had maybe 5 people per haunted house actually scaring people the rest was just decoration and strobe lights. overall i did not enjoy myself and as many years as i have visited. this year was the absolute worse and a complete waste of 50 dollars

I ve been to this multiple time and this year was just horrible. We didn t even jump once. Hardly any actors and when there was one they just smiled or popped their head out. The line were worse than six flags . Waited 50 mins just to get into 1. Will never go back again. Don t waste your money.

If you want a truly professional haunted house ex...

If you want a truly professional haunted house experience than this is the place. I have been to many local haunted attractions over the years, this is by far the best. Its 50$ for general admission, which includes 10 attractions that will have you entertained for about 2 hours. I personally would have paid 75$ and I'm cheap. The actors were excellent, props were Spielberg quality, and design all around was on point. They had some great new ideas and interactions with equipment that had me legitimately afraid, something that is very rare to find as an adult. I went on friday 10/5 at around 8pm and never stood in a line longer than 10 minutes. Check the reservation times online and if most are unavailable than the lines would probably be longer. However, definitely still a location worth the money and time, offering a Halloween experience that gets you pumped about the season.
