I have been here a few times to pick up some snorkeling and spearfishing gear. Staff is helpful, I would rather spend a little more here than get the standard, basic gear at places like Bass Pro, or God forbid, Wal Mart!

My husband and I just went through the open diving class. It was great! We had a great instructor, John McGill, and met several new friends who were also in the class with us. We are planning a dive together after we are licensed. Hatts is clean and the pool is the perfect environment to learn and practice your skills. I would recommend them!
This is a great full service shop. Mike recommended great dive gear. He actually steered us away from some of the higher priced brands because there were more affordable alternatives that were of similar quality. Their prices are great. Their instructors are first rate and really care about making great divers. My wife and I have taken 5 classes and learned a lot.

Incredible Open Water Cert dive for son. My son and girlfriend had to do their final Open Water Certification dives and we stopped by Hatts to see if they could do it through them. (We are from out of town, but he now goes to college nearby). I really appreciated all the help we were provided and they were able to set up the dive for the week we were in town. There was no pressure to buy more expensive equipment and I felt we were given straight-forward info on what we were paying for. They went with instructor Jim and my son and friend said he was AMAZING. This was one of the best experiences of his life. They even saw two species of sharks on their first dive! I realize that is out of the dive shop's control, and from what I was told by others is somewhat rare, but I'm sure grateful it was all positive and they came back safe. :) I especially appreciate the time Instructor Jim took before the dives to just double check that the kids remembered all their prior training, which had taken place many months earlier. I know my son and friend are hoping to do more dives through Hatt's and work on further certifications. THANK YOU!

I have had decent service at Hatt's in the past, this summer however it's a little disappointing. Took my thanks in for service 1 hydro and 4 VIP.
Thurs. June 25th was told and it's on the ticket pick up Tues June 30th. When I arrived and they found the tanks in the back , they said they are next you can get them tomorrow, they said look at all these tanks we are really busy. O K so I arrive this a m at 10:30 and again looking for the tanks , one was ready and the guy said "the guy that does the tanks didn't even work yesterday" "I h ees ard her tell you in the afternoon"
I was only told "tomorrow " and he was short an impolite. Now I will make my third trip from Satellite beach and hopefully get my tanks--guess I'll start going to Dixie in Palm Bay or one of the shops in Merit Island
Took my open water certification at the beginning of May with Larry and he was a super awesome instructor! So patient when I was struggling to take of my mask underwater! I was never concerned for my safety knowing he was keeping an eye on me. I will be taking my advance class later this year

I am continually impressed with Hatts! They have the best instructors, over the top customer service and all around an extremely well run operation. I have no need to shop elsewhere because they have everything I need from equipment to knowledge. What I respect the most being a newer diver is they were not out to just make money off me by selling me a lot of things that were unnecessary but guiding me to what I truly needed and items that keep me safe and will last me a long time. I started out just wanting to get open water certified but through their instructors and dives Hatts books I've moved on taking many more courses and I'm inspired to want instruct myself

I took the PADI Advanced Open Water course from Hatts. Our instructor Larry was professional and very knowledgeable. However the class, which contained 11 students and 1 instructor, suffered from overfilling: classroom instruction started 40 minutes late. Tanks were not properly distributed. The lake dives felt inefficient some exercises were cut due to time and air constraints, and others we did do didn t have time to retry or swap roles with our buddy. The boat dives in West Palm Beach went great. I would take a course from Hatts again, but I would ask what the class size is first.

A well organized shop. I think it's family owned and operated. They are very helpful with information on local diving sites. They have a deep pool, and will certify you up to at least advanced diver.

Hatts Diving Headquarters provides classes for all skill levels, with a dedicated, family oriented staff, as well as experienced personnel suitable for all your diving questions and needs.
Regarding the Scuba Class, our dive instructor Brad Kassay provided exceptional class instruction, as well as tremendous hands on assistance. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor!

Just finished my open water certification. Jim was great. He took the time to make sure I understood all safety procedures and would have us repeat skills if we needed more time to grasp the concept. Open water dive was awesome!

Went here the other day and rented tanks. I let them know my regulator kept blowing out o rings (pretty new, no sign of damage). They took a look at it, he said all looked good but he greased up the threads on the yoke valve because it was sticking a little. All was great after that. Staff was great, prices were fantastic, and I'm never one to right reviews. So thanks.

My entire family has had a great experience shopping for new & replacement gear. The owners of the store are generous with their knowledge - answering questions and providing information. They have an broad line of dive gear and will direct you to the best gear for your needs.
The Dive Instructors are amazing - great with kids as well as adults. If I were looking for a place to take any dive course, Hatts would be my one and only stop. We were very pleased with the quality of the loaner gear and the organization of the educational side of the dive center.

Seriously the best place to train, buy gear or just answer questions. With zero training or knowledge, we signed up for open water classes with Jim S. No words can describe his patience, his gift of teaching or his pure love of the ocean. He takes as much time as you need to master skills to keep you safe. Three weeks later we were on our lake and ocean dives. Jim was with everyone each step of the way. The best part....a faith filled pep talk before panic set in. The words "I got you" will be forever part of my vocabulary. Buying gear? Josh, Kendra and Mike live to help, fit and educate.....if something isn't right, they make it right! Thank u everyone for an amazing experience! Looking forward to our advanced/nitrox class!!
I've been a customer at Hatt's for some 50 years now if you include the old days out at the point. Hatt's has always gone the extra mile, delivering the best service with absolute integrity. If you're an old pro who just wants the best service, advice and equipment, Hatt's is for you. If you're new and want to know all about diving and how to enjoy a lifetime of great experiences, Hatt's is the place to go!
Tl;dr: If you value your life, do your dive training elsewhere.
Having been a diving for about 1 year now I can confidentially say that the training my wife and I received at Hatt's was dangerously sub-par. Luckily we had good dive masters/instructors on subsequent dives that really "showed us the ropes". We had MJ as an instructor at Hatt's. Despite of her credentials, she is horrible.
Also there rental gear, which is used in the class, is borderline unserviceable. For example my BCD s strap that holds the inflator and high pressure hose in place was broken. It seemed like an easy fix, but for every dive over the 4 weeks that the class took place, it was broken. Additionally all of the gear bags had broken clips so it was pretty easy for stuff to fall out of them when moving gear from one place to another. If it does, and you don't notice it falling out you have to pay for it. Now you have something else to worry about: taking an inventory of the gear every time you move it. This is not conducive to learning.
The gear that they sell you is very sub quality. The masks we purchased from the shop, are really $10-$12 quality that they make you pay $65. We replaced both of our masks from a better shop, that actually seal for the same $65. Don't pay their prices for snorkels either, $40 for a basic snorkel is ridiculous. We bought semi-dry for $10.
A very experienced diver, where I work, classified Hatt s as dive snobs . While very experienced they look down on newbies with contempt. I would agree with this. When I went in to pick up my certification cards three people were working and there were no customers. There was no congratulations or how can we serve you now kind of things. They were definitely not interested in my future business. Gladly the feeling is mutual.
Find a quality dive shop, this one is not it.
My husband and I got certified here, very friendly people. They do not just push the most expensive scuba equipment on you! They want you to be comfortable with what you purchase.
