I started working with Harpers without a lot of payroll experience. The support I have received from them has been excellent and beyond reproach. One of my customer service people, Tammy, held my hand in the beginning to make sure I understood everything I needed to do and showed me the best way to achieve what I needed to achieve. After almost 2 years, the support and timely response to issues is consistently excellent as are the two customer service people I work with the most....Tammy and Larry. My experience with harpers payroll company was horrible. I was promised by their salesperson George that they could both process my payroll and file old 2017 & 2018 state taxes. I told them how important it was I get the 2017 & 2018 taxes filed and they promised they would do it within the one month period I was allotted. I was then given the complete run around , sent to a payroll agent named Tammy who told me she had no idea about my taxes and sent me back to George, who then sent me back to Tammy who sent me back to George again who then sent me to Jay, the owner. It was ridiculous. Then they said they couldn t solve my tax issue unless I ran my first payroll which was never said to me initially. They even quoted me $200 to do all this. I spoke to Jay ( the owner) 3 times total who said I must run payroll first before they can file my taxes . I sent in all the required papers for payroll and didn t hear back from anyone. I contacted Jay again who said I need to send Tammy all my. Companies info. I told him I sent it over a week ago. He did not respond. Now it s been a month and a half and they have still done nothing. Today I spoke with Jay again who said George never relayed to him the correct information. He then said, once I start running payroll they could file the taxes. I said I planned on running payroll this week so could he please start filing the taxes as promised and he replied, realistically you may want an accountant. I was shocked! They not only gave me the run around for over a month and a half but this will now cost me more money as I will be penalized. I could have went to someone else if they could have admitted that they were not experienced enough to file taxes. They also promised audit representation? Are you kidding? They can t even file simple state taxes. Do yourself a favor and stare clear of this company. They are not very organized at all.
