Today I received all the Love I envisioned from this place. There is so much love here at Harbor Interfaith. My baby got toys, milk, diapers, and food -all essentials. I received hygiene items and other referrals I was seeking. Thank u God!!

This is the worste place to get help if you are homeless. I have been waiting 4 months in the streets with my three children to get placed in a shelter. They lied and said they were going to place me in their shelter in November and then rejected me. I called the head of FSC programs and she told me the case manager from Harbor Interfaith says I refused shelters which was a lie. I didn't have any money left after paying for hotels to pay a transitional shelter. Maria Cervantes is the worste lier I have ever come across. I talk to her at least twice a week and she lies about returning my calls and looking for shelters for us. Horrible, racist place this is.
I am very happy to have connected with this organization. They have been servicing the community for years. Whether it be an individual or family, there are programs available to support. If someone is in need of food, clothing, or hygiene products, there are case managers ready to serve community needs.
Dan is amazing and the staff works diligently to assist, support and assess all cases. They assisted me, guided and placed me rapidly. Along with providing an array of support systems, resources and networks. Providing clear, concise and brilliant navigational directives to successfully accomplish a safe, secure and comfortable home environment in the midst of a crisis, moratorium and pandemic. Amazingly gifted and philanthropic paragons!
They don't help at all. I went there when I was pregnant and homeless trying to get help they didn't bother. Even my social worker was trying to get in contact but noting no answer. I don't understand why work in places like that if they don't want to help nobody.
This place is completely disorganized! The staff contradict themselves. For example i have severe sinuses there for a fan is dangerous to my health. I purchased an AC very small power saver because i know the building is old and can't support a large amounts of wattage. When my family and i moved in they provided an old heater that was double the wattage of my little ac. They asked me to provide a letter from my doctor stating i required an AC so i went and got the letter from my doctor. I received a call saying me and my family would be places in a hotel because of my need for an AC. It was unbelievable i had just fully stocked my refrigerator with groceries! I would have to throw out 200 dollars of food. My babies were just getting used to the place. So i told them id just remove the AC. So they offered me a 2nd fan! The program itself is wonderful! And has the POTENTIAL to help all the homeless family's. The staff doesn't help at all! If your not on top of everything yourself you will not be able to sustain permanent housing. The reason i even gave to stars is because i do receive rent assistants from them SO A BIG THANK U YOU TO THE DONORS! I also want to mention its takes over a month to get in to the shelter i had a 3 week old baby when i reached out for help sleeping in the park and it took over a month to get a phone call. Instead of Helping they intimate you. Belittle you. For example i had my weekly interview and a few remarks were " you have to try harder there's no extension when your times up" 3 months is how long familys have in the shelter. Or when i was explaining something to the supervisor one of her remarks were "well in the supervisor so what i say goes". Hope this helps!
This is the best place ever.they have helped me and my family out tremendously. You've got to be patient. If you have been homeless for over a year, you quality. actually homeless tho, not spending nights here n there or sleeping in a garage. You must be sleeping in a car or on the street to be what they consider CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS. Otherwise they CAN NOT HELP YOU. They've helped my family and I regain strength. By helping us. I'm thankful
The program works if you put in the work they require. I went to them with no job no home and no car. In 8 months I worked hard. Now I have a new car, a job and we just moved into our new apartment. They helped us secure permanent housing. And helped us afterwards. Great place. Thanks so much.
This is the best place ever. I have never known of any one being turned away from assistance. As I can remember, you can't have any felonies if your going through their homeless program. I thank God for this place, because if it wasn't for them, I don't know where my son and I would have lived. In 2007, I believe it was 2007,' I was so worried about moving into the shelter- Harbor Interfaith- because I assumed it was dirty and everyone were sleeping under one roof. I had no idea the shelter was like having your own apartment-studio apartment- that was clean with a working refrigerator and stove. I assumed the worst about this place and it turned out to be a blessing. I was able to save money and move into their apartments around the corner and live in a one bedroom for only $500.00 something a month, for 16 months. After I moved out of the one bedroom apartments I was able to move else where. They offer more then they tell you. If you receive their services, just do what your're told and everything will turn out fine. Oh, also, they have a room, a pantry fulled with food if you're in need and they have clothes for you to wear that are donated. This place, Harbor Interfaith is heaven sent.
The disorganization in this place is unbelievable. I am amazed how they get funding. I have 4 children and became homeless and tried my hardest to not only find a place to live and a job to self sustain my family. But this place first sent me to the state for homeless vouchers while they work on my case. After my vouchers were done the case worker here had quit and apparently never worked on my case. So the manager took it over and asked me to gather stuff and gave me a date. I came back with the items on the date and they were closed. To which I then came back on another date and she had completely forgotten about me and my case. To which I deduced that once again they did not do all they promised. So my children and I became homeless again. And all they say and do is...nothing. nothing is happening. So...in my opinion the funding on this place is pointless... When the people who need it for just a short period of time to get on their feet aren't getting it. I had 20 job interviews in 2 weeks and I was able to get back on my feet. But not thanks to them they actually did not help at all. I just wasted gas and money running around doing all they asked me to.
I called, staff answered the phone, sked where i was calling from I told her inglewood. She said hold on and hung up on me..?? I called back several times never anwered the phone! Horrible. But what goes around comes around.
Capable and loving staff. This is not a place to get a hand out, this is a place that gives you a leg up. Assistance in finding employment, child care, and additional training/schooling. They partner with the working poor and unemployed in the community to help them get the resources they qualify for and get back on their feet. Pantry supplies food so families, barely living from paycheck to paycheck can feed their families until the next paycheck. They have courses on budget, how to run a household and can even connect those unemployeed to retrain for a new field. For those who meet the qualifications there is even housing placement assistance once the family is ready to take that step. No drugs or alcohol allowed.
While I have needed their services (I'm a donor), I'm quite aware if what they do. They will supply 3 days worth of food, the will provide clothing & household needs. They assist with replacement IDs, all necessary paperwork for assistance. They do everything in their power to get folks housed.
