If I could give 0 stars I would. I worked with this company for a service provided to them and wish that I never did. Paul is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in my life. He sent multiple emails that included OMG because he kept giving wrong information. There was so much miscommunication and at one point his unprofessionalism sky rocketed to Are you kidding me? You find the mistake and fix it! Paul needs to go for a professional development on how to speak to people and how to improve his communication and professional skills.

I worked with this company a few months ago when looking for a one bedroom in Harlem. Initially, I wanted to find something on my own, but after a series of unfortunate events and the pains of being exposed to the Manhattan real estate nightmare, I stumbled into Halstead's office on Fredrick Douglass Boulevard hoping someone would help me. A Harlem resident herself, Leanne Stella listened closely to what I was looking for, and identified what my priorities and my non-negotiables were. She helped me find, check out and lock down my place as soon as it was free for move-in. I simply couldn't have done it without her. She is still in touch to check in on me. She even lets me know when cool things are going on in the neighborhood. Thanks Leanne!

The WORST ever management we ever work with. I wish I could give zero or even negative. I have no clue where my common charge goes, as the management takes no responsibility for whatever they should - a repair may take months until I go crazy.

I was a client with Halstead Management for many years, and my apartment was looked after by Paul Boyajian. Paul was efficient and professional; I never had a single concern, even when the HVAC unit broke down and cost me a fortune to repair, I always knew that Paul was looking after the place.

In December, Paul left and Luisa Ayure took over. Since that time, my emails went unanswered, requests from my tenant for repairs were ignored, rent collection and distribution didn't taken place and an email from the head of my condo building regarding a potential vermin problem was ignored. The lockdown was used as an excuse for the poor service I was receiving, but the problems began before the lockdown took place, and the lockdown doesn't excuse a complete lack of communication and professionalism.

I contacted the President of the Halstead Management - who was very understanding, and said she'd intervene, but it never made any difference to the actual level of service I was receiving. It became an extremely stressful and negative situation. Ultimately, despite 7 good years with Halstead, the recent 6 months with the new property manager left me with no choice but to find another management agency. To add insult to injury, a month after terminating the contract, I still hadn't received the balance of my operating funds, nor had my tenant's deposit been transferred to the management new agency!

Also - just a heads up - in my contract with Halstead, there was an extremely onerous, one-sided clause that required 90 days written notice and a fee of 3 months rent to terminate the contract other than for cause; it's just something to be aware of if you (have lost your mind and) are thinking of signing with them.
