Went to the ER in excruciating sciatica pain...teny

I enter at emergency at 1pm and get out a 3h15 pm
excellent service and fast

Lots of beds open, very pushy staff. They dont like to explan anything. be really careful. You never know who is who. i have had great visits there but once i got in almost impossible to just step out for even some fresh air or quick smoke.

I was treated very nicely by night staff. Day staff had zero empathy rude and i was extremely disappointed in there service. My call bell it took them 20 mins to respond and they turned it off once with no one so i had to ring again i left after was just so aggravated they expressed they ware happy to see me leave.

I broke 6 odds and one of the odds to cut an artery and I made two cardiac arrest.
It brought me back to life afterwards and I had a very good service from everyone.

I've been waiting with my friend for 5 hours now. It's just over 5 degrees and they haven't turned on heading in any rooms. We're freezing cold.

They lost my mother.. the staff does not even care.. they are so insensitive ...terrible staff , they are not human.

Excellent services doctors and surgeons super competent

Really a bad experience! Never again will I have confidence to leave one of my relatives there! Not even for a few hours.

Worse hospital ever never a good experience . Even the triage people are rude honesty all Quebec health workers need to be trained in customer service

I wish I could give a lower opinion to a star. One of the worst experiences of my life. Endless waiting times in the emergency room, patients left alone who suffer and who call for help in the indifference of staff completely overwhelmed and disorganized.
I was left alone in a corridor, without anyone coming to take care of me for hours.
Being a non-resident of Canada, I had to pay a fee, harassed by the staff who came to bring me the numeris machine in my bed. It was impossible to obtain the bills and the medical file necessary for my insurance. To pay it could not wait 5 minutes, but to get the documents you will have to wait for months and face an incompetent staff, indifferent without any compassion. NEVER GO IN THIS HOSPITAL!

29 hrs in emerge for an appendectomy. Orderlies drive the beds like bumper cars. The hospital is dirty. Bathroom fixtures are rusted, stained or just gross. Quite difficult to imagine this WAS once a world class hospital.

my brother was there waiting to be tranfered to a center to reabilitate for his numerous fractures.
the service was almost non existant the Dr were ok but the staff on the 12th floor was awfull
they were never present and when yu buuzed for something sometimes ir would take more that 30min or even an hour
my girlfriend is a nurse and even she said they were terrible
i am just glad he as letf for an other center

Surely with regard to the patients of this establishment, but the same can not be said of the medical staff.

Such a great experience! I have heard bad reviews but in my multiple times Ive went I had nothing but good things to say.

I waited for over that 25 minutes just to get the room number of my Dr. , no answer. The receptionist was on her coffee time.

stay as far away as possible especially if its trauma , head trauma or anything related to neurology which is supposedly their specialty. You better off trying something private if you want to heal or get better!!

I had my CT Scan here and I would say that this is the best hospital for Anglophones so far, yeah, the facility might look old but the staff, from reception, to guard, to rad tech, admission are all nice and welcoming. I would prefer to come here than to other newer facility but discriminates you when you dont speak French. Thank you Montreal Gen!

Absolute joke. Make you wait hours on end. Went twice and got both my important diagnostics completely wrong. Avoid at all costs!

The hospital is in a desperate need of a major face lift. However, the staff was first rate.

I hated it! Worst hospital in the entire world! I was dying, I needed a surgery and they didnt do anything because they dont take my insurance and they asked me to pay $850+ before I could see a doctor. I am an exchange student and I didnt have the money.

They just dont care, they said that it is the law "sorry". Yeah right, if it was their daughter who was dying they wouldn't just say sorry! I cant just fkn believe it! They would have let me died!

I dont recommend this to anyone, and if you are a student and you have something serious, just go back to your country because here they will let you die!!

A lot of complaints. People should maybe try paying for healthcare if they are looking for top class service. Those who appear to be doctors themselves and can diagnose a person just by looking at them should probably cure their tummy aches themselves. This is a trauma centre which means if you walk into the building to see a doctor, you may not be a priority. Staff are under a lot of pressure with little resources to work with. I am interested to see if anyone went to another hospital, how much faster they would see a doctor. I waited 4 hours with a fractured wrist but when I was seen everything moved quickly. My wife's a nurse, the reason they look like they hate their jobs sometimes is because there are a lot of people who believe they are walking into a hotel and expect the same kind of service.

I had the worst experience in the emergency department of this hospital. I arrived at 4 am with horrible pain in my tooth. After taking tylenol all day, I was given two Advil and told to wait in the waiting room. After sitting for two hours in excruciating pain, I went to talk to a receptionist and disturbed his movie. I was talked down too and almost kicked out of the hospital for "agitating" the receptionist. All this to wait 4 hours and not even see a single doctor. I dont recommend this place at all.

i decided to give a 1 * review after reading all the other 1 * reviews and it brought back a lot of memories... remembering all the time i spent at this place and after the years and years and the radios and ultras and mris and this and that test and at the end they told me they don't know what's wrong and here's some pain killer pills

The WORST possible hospital ever!! Waited 8 hours to see a doctor in the emergency section. How does a emergency section in an hospital take 8 hours??????

More than 10h ... waiting ... and gone without being received to another hospital ....
I would have liked given a lower note, but there is none! July 12, 2019, arrivals to the emergency room around 17:30. Triage and we sit ... 10h without talking to anyone! The staff very rude! The staff was laughing at each other, but as soon as a patient dared to speak to them, they looked angry ... The poster that demands respect on their door is going both ways, right? We had to move from hospital to another hospital where we were very well received and respected, which makes the wait enjoyable!

This place is the absolute worst. I have been there 3 times in the past 3 weeks. First time, my boyfriend was almost dying and diagnosed with diabetes and since he doesn't have insurance and he is in the country as a tourist, they treated him like a celebrity because the bill was 40k. But then, I go for myself as a canadian citizen with my insurance and both times they made me wait over 5 hours and ended up leaving because it's exhausting to wait, the AC makes me feel sick and everyone gets called but me. Besides the triage nurses always say the rudest comments, and shut me up when you talk before their system loads your file in the computer. This place has made me feel offended, makes me feel like I am worthless and I end up coming back home ill and injured.

Came here with my friend for a small issue, just to be safe, and we waited 4 hours to see a doctor and 5 more for blood test results. No updates were given at any point and everyone in here is absolutely miserable.

Their policy is to refuse to process any insurance other than a Canada Health Card because it's "too much paperwork". So if, like me, you're from a country (UK in my case) who's citizens aren't eligible for Canadian health care, you will pay in full and will have a 0% chance of having any of it refunded by your insurer, even if your policy entitles you to coverage! They wanted to charge me $900 for a tetanus shot! I must say the receptionist was very helpful and advised me of other places I could get the shot, but what horrible policy. If I break a leg or bang my head or have a heart attack or something I'll just have to pay up!

The spine surgeon Dr. Reindl gave me back my life after more than 3 years of back issues. As soon as I got an appointment with the surgeon, the General Hospital handled my case so well. They are responsive, very polite and very professional. Thank you to all the staff, I can't possibly thank you all enough. You truly saved me.

I was referred to their emergency by a CLSC doctor for further examination. After 10 hours of waiting in the emergency, I was sent home without any diagnostic because the resident did not run any test on me. I was told to go back if the same symptoms happen again so they can refer me to a specialist for further examination. I wish that they could tell me this at the beginning so I don't have to spend 10 agony hours waiting just to be send home. And why would you make a patient come back to maybe wait for another 10 hours just to get a referral? I just don't understand. The nurses and the resident were very nice, but there's a serious issue with the efficiency and competency of their system.

Staff are abysmal. Departments close too early. Hallways aren't clean. ER is a complicated mess.

Would pick death over Montreal ER rooms. Especially this one!

Went to ER at 11am yesterday ,bad stomach pain and back ,went there because my Gastro Dr. is at the MGH. after the triage half later ,I was number 26 was finally called to a room at 6pm ,waited 1hr15 in a freezing room ,with no nurse or anyone showing up before ,then walked in a resident Intern ,had no name on his brown outfit ,never told me to put a gown asked me just basic ?? when I came to tell him the medication that I took ,he had never heard of them ,he said only knew generic names ????then would look up on his smart phone to see definitions, when I gave him copies of previous tests done at another hospital (he answered with a foreign accent sorry I can't understand in french)he examined me (something I have to find out if that was necessary!!then said you can go and wait in the waiting room, saw lady with bloodied ripped big toe nails ,waiting from 2:30pm finally seen at 11:30PM. and during my stay 4 patients gave up and left, I was so stupid to have stayed by 11pm I went to theircorner where the Doc are and saw that intern ,and said I had no tests nothing yet ,(WHAT AM I WAITING FOR??) he answered (I have to consult my colleagues (WHAT??) 4 to 5 hrs to consult .wasted 12hrs for some dude that had no idea about anything. was that for REAL .THAT ENTIRE ER yesterday afternoon till 11:30 PM was a circus , and everyone in that waiting room felt the same......NEVER AGAIN IN THEIR ER EVER>>>>the rest of the dept. are great......................never in that ER. so disorganized so who ever the Doctor in charge was..(DID not have any control of the ER)
