Great food, service was ok and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. However, from a 2 Michelin Star restaurant I expected more! "People have certain expectations of a Michelin restaurant I would be amazed by the service and food If I didn t know it s a Michelin Star restaurant as Our level of expectation is crucial to our enjoyment of food, wine... in overall it was good.

Amazing restaurant. Food was excellent, beautifully prepared. We had the 5 course menu for lunch which was more than enough food, especially as they brought out lots of little extras during the meal. The wine pairing we had with the meal was very good, more expensive than just buying a bottle of wine but a great way to try different wines.

The room itself is stunning and the service impeccable.

Would highly recommend and we will be returning again

Excellent two Michelin star service and ambience. The fixed price lunch and early evening menu includes several tasty appetizers. The included wines also excellent. But the main courses although perfectly cooked lacked inspiration.

A place absolutely ... I do not even find a word. I'll make it simple: a monumental massacre. A welcome to make pale the greatest palaces, a kitchen that is well worth 3 macaroons. Bravo.

Amazing. 5 stars aren't enough. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in. Service was the right balance of friendly, attentive and not intrusive. Food was sublime and the wines were amazing. I can't wait to go back.

Fabulous orgasmic food! For our 15th anniversary we went to Helene Darroze with the opentable dinner offer . We loved every single dishes, the carefully selected wines going with them, all the little extras and the attentive staff. It was a real pleasure we will definitively go back there.

Food and service were excellent however was expecting something a lot more creative and avant garde as I had eaten at her Paris establishment. Didn't care for the decor - old heavy dated a la Connaught Hotel 18th Century Style. Liked the marbles wooden board setup at the start to pick your dinner entrees.

Friendly and attentive staff. The flavour profiles of the offerings were creative and delicious. We chose the 8 course tasting menu. The serving sizes were generous and in retrospect we would have gone with 6 courses instead.

Very good food and very good service but appauling attitude of Mme Darroze.
The restaurant was nearly empty, she spoke to some friends and she did not even say Hi !
Typical French rudeness..

I consider myself a foodie and was looking forward to an evening a Helene Darroze at the Connaught. Quite simply, the worse experience I've had in a Michelin starred establishment. Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff but the food was insultingly poor for this level. If you are thinking of going, I'd recommend checking out Jay Rayner's Guardian review beforehand. We left after 45 mins, thoroughly disappointed, having asked the charming and friendly staff to stop bringing us food while we finished our wine. You have been warned...

In a review you have to find something which was not great, otherwise it is not helpful, isn't it ? Here, i am really struggling. The food was fantastic : a combination of creativity in the mix of ingredients, delicate, light and at the same time fullfilling. We only took the 5 courses meal and tried to focus on fish or sea food rather than meat. It was a great success. The service is extremely attentive and professional. I like a bit less the room but it goes with the traditional style of the hotel. Overall highly recommended. We will go back.

We went to the Connaught for dinner on George day. Restaurant itself it's nicely decorated in a vintage way. Menu has two options, go for 5 or 7 course and is displayed in a original way, not the usual leaflet or paper. Service was great More

This was our second time. We did the 5 course tasting menu. Outstanding food, but they serve 3 different dishes to the wrong guest.

That will not stop us from going back tough. I love how they use the little balls to order your food. A week later, i can still remember what i had. Brilliant!

Elegant and refined place, pleasant welcome, attentive service with helpful waiters, high professional level.
Menu with proposals that can satisfy particularly demanding palates, even revisited dishes of Italian cuisine, those that I had the pleasure of tasting were well balanced results in flavors and cooking. A pure pleasure of the table. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for evolution in tradition.

Top notch! Highly recommend!

Start with funny game to decide ur menu . The service is amazing and staff are very friendly and humourois. They are attentive and assure all details are right no matter how thy put the cutlery , the handkerchief, every dish , and I like how knowledge any staff here about their food and other food . It s very gorgeous experiences

Their service is even up to next level, I was a solo visitor and they offer me iPad for magazines and when my phone need charging, they have even iPhone handy and elegant charger for me this is something I cannot expect as normally most five star hotels or Michelin restaurants don t offer charger to be honest

Good indeed super amazing! I like all the food ! I mean all the food. I especially love my lobster the most ! How moist and and good tenderness they made ! Super impressive , the hair is also another highlight . I tried also the foie gras and white asparagus both are good. The cheese board is absolutely great but very full haha . Finally I order the baba which u can choose from different type of AMA bac which was super amazing ! I pick the 1995 one , so good aroma! My god!

Love this restaurant super mcuha do the whole experience is really great

Forget to mention I arrive earlier than they start, I am offered to sit in one of the lounge to wait and nice ambience too ! Love the Connaught and the Helene Darrose ! Definitely push quality level to top notch

It's a 5 star for the food and a 1 star for the wine pairing and post meal customer service.

We went for my wife s 40th birthday and I would like to say that the food was wonderful.

After discussion, the Sommelier seemed to yield to our feedback and the measures were increased more in line with our expectations however it was done with a reluctance. We had additional issues with the wine that evening with sediment being poured into my wife s glass and the normal wine introductions at the start of each course seemingly rushed and hurried.

On the whole we had a lovely evening and the restaurant team were charming and accommodating, the food was exceptional however I do think the wine pairing was extremely disappointing. Having spent a small fortune on dinner and a significant portion of that being for the wine I would certainly say that we received value for money for the food but unfortunately not for the accompanying wine.

What also disappointed me was that I sent a very polite email providing feedback to this end but unfortunately they haven't extended me the courtesy of a reply which again considering the status of the restaurant and it's location is extremely disappointing.

By far the best restuarant in London, if not Europe?. I have been lucky enough in life to travel the world and have eaten at the best restuarants, but Helene at the C is super outstanding. I truly wish for an option of 7*, as for a dining experience to beat anywhere...... It's quite obvious. Magnifique!!!!!

The most wonderful Restaurant, the food, service, staff are all sublime. I have had the pleasure of meeting Helen Darroze and have celebrated my birthday there for a number of years, in fact I go whenever I am in London.
The generosity of the food, all the little extras that make it so special, never fail to please - and this reflects the ethos of Ms Darroze herself. She is, in my opinion one of the best Chefs in the world.
Cooking comes from the heart, and she has a BIG heart.
AMAZING place and the recent addition of the Poulet menu, to celebrate the whole Chicken is fantastic.

MY REVIEW

MY REVIEW
I waited a long time before writing this review as I wanted it to be objective. Having now just returned from Europe and enjoyed some stunning food in several venues now is the time.

The restaurant is in a very beautiful old styled London hotel in the middle of Mayfair and the service is superb. Our arrival greeting by all concerned, both hotel and restaurant, was perfect and the ambience of the room itself matches the hotel. Open, spacious elegance but quiet even though the tables are a little close together, the clientele are not likely to be ones to intrude into your space with raised voices. Obviously, you reciprocate and are able to have a conversation in a normal voice sitting on comfortable albeit low chairs. We were surprised there were so many empty tables which explained how easy it was for us to get one at last minute!
The ability of the waiting staff to speak English without very strong accents meant we had to ask them several times to repeat themselves to understand what they were saying which made it very hard work. However, the service was excellent albeit all very rushed. We had to ask twice to slow down our courses as we were there for the evening and not a race to see how quickly we could dine.
The initial presentation on the table of the so-called menu by balls on a board and shown many times on other reviews, is a bit of theatre, that for us completely backfired and even the head-waiter advised us to just use the menu!
We chose the five course tasting menu. The quality of the produce was first class as was the presentation which had received an awful lot of technical prep behind the scenes although we did feel the food lacked flavour for our palates. Frankly, we did not see what elevated it to 2* status compared to many other 1* especially on mainland Europe. Those comments are of course entirely subjective. The following is not!
We decided to go for the more expensive fine wine pairing, something that we prefer to do at first class restaurants. We love our wine and it is a good way to learn about new ones that should complement the food we are going to be presented with. Unfortunately, on this occasion it left a lot to be desired. The volumes poured per glass were an utter disgrace and frankly an insult. I certainly did not need to ask my driver to take us to the venue as I could easily have driven myself home and been well under the limit! I will not argue the quality of the wine offered for which we were paying a large fortune but if they could not afford to give us more per glass at the price, then charge us more and let us decide if we are prepared to pay it! I would liked to have said that it simply left a bad taste in the mouth but there was not sufficient to do so! I would also say that I have had much better pairings at much lower standard restaurants. Finally, the sommeliers introduction and explanation of each offering was again difficult to understand and rushed.

Would we go back? No! Should you go and try it for yourselves? No comment.

I had Christmas dinner with my family here and their Christmas set menu did impress me. Although the waiting staff kinda put the restaurant down a bit, we were served by a female waitress who sad to say has a body odor. I couldn't even focus to enjoy my food because her stench lingers in our table. But other than that everything was amazing. The ambience in the restaurant is cosy and the place is spacious although all the table were booked.

Amazing experience. We celebrated our 6 year anniversary and all the staff were aware and gave us a lot of attention. The food was incredible but you can only expect this from Helene Darroze. :) The service was flawless. I can only recommend to go to this place !

Ordinary at most. For the price of the menu the quality and taste of the food is very ordinary for what you can find in the market now a days. I had been at Core in Notting Hill last week and, enamoured by the high dining experience, wanted to treat my siblings to something special. Everything was so ordinary and lacklustre, but not horribly bad, so it was hard to appropriately give feedback the staff other than to thank them graciously.

We went to the Connaught as a family to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. As we were celebrating we went for the full tasting menu. First of all the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, they were not stuffy at all. We went just as lockdown had finished so they were all wearing masks which made it a little hard to understand what they were saying but of course that is out of their hands.
Food was really nice especially the mackerel dish. As a pescatarian I got a really good alternative meal to the others lamb dish. I would say I did not like the Brill course. That was a bummer as we had chosen the full tasting meal to have that dish.
As well as the tasting menu we were given lots of amuse bouches which were lovely except when it came to the dessert and petit four I was too full to appreciate them. The petit fours were really great.

P.s bread was delicious and also the sobrasada butter. Bread was also replenished and left in the table for the full meal which was a nice touch.

However bar staff let the place down a bit- could not get our pre dinner drinks for love nor money !
Dining room outstanding as were the staff, but I do not rate the food 2 stars, one for sure but not 2
Having said that, I will return as the entire evening was sublime

Food looks very pretty. However, three of us five in total went to toilet. One of us was serious sickness. When we were sitting in the restaurant, we were going to call to ambulance. Beacause, one of my friend didn t come back from toilet. Anyway, we won t go back in there anymore.

I was meeting up with an old friend and he booked the table. Whilst I have a secret love of fine dining and have had the pleasure of eating in several Michelin star restaurants I've never eaten at Helene Darroze before. Not quite sure what to expect other than an impeccable experience. I wasn't disappointed. The greeting was welcoming without being over the top setting the scene for a relaxing meal. The menu choice was a little bit of fun too. The food was simply exceptional. Visually pleasing and taste outstanding. Highly recommended! Will be returning as soon as possible.

The food is good, service is very distant and not welcoming. Overall good dining experience, although not a place I'd return soon. Mentioned on the booking and to the reception about a birthday we were celebrating, however that has not been acknowledged at all.
