We registered our son for a 10 month stay in the USA. The departure was initially planned either on August 7th or September 11th, but today, we still have no departure date, nor family file! The stay of 10 months is reduced from day to day! AFS is unable to commit to a departure date! We were promised the 19th or 26th of September last limit and yesterday we are called to tell us that it will leave in October! every 72 hours a new excuse!
Very bad experience for us parents and especially for our son who waits without knowing if he will leave! While they boosted his dream with lies, preparation weekend ect ......! today his dream collapses! This morning again we told our son that it was offbeat, his answer filled my eyes with tears ..... today his dream collapses! and with his future course! Teens (still children) are not pawns or toys!

I do not recommend this association at all to families planning to send their child abroad.

AFS changed my life when I left at age 15 in Canada. Today she continues to share my life. My three children went with AFS to discover Thailand, Argentina and Chile and our family also traveled by opening our doors to welcome young people. It is the 5th year already and it is always a real joy. My children and I are volunteers and we learn every day from these young people and families. Join us !!!

Great organization that gives young people the means to live an unforgettable experience and that makes them grow. Fabulous experience also as a welcoming family of young foreigners coming to spend a school year in France.

The best way for a young person to go abroad, to learn a culture, a language and to make friends ... for life !!!
And for the family that welcomes, open its door, rub shoulders with a new culture and bring a young stranger to be ... citizen of the world!

I do not note the place, but the association AFS of long-term cultural stays, which is extremely serious, professional, efficient and highly recommendable. Many alumni provide essential functions on a voluntary basis. I myself sent the 17-year-old girl to the United States for one year by AFS. I parallel, voluntarily, to experience the same experience in mirror, hosted a Brazilian high school for a year. AFS has tremendously framed this. Thanks again.

I have been a volunteer in this association since ... 1987 and I only had excellent experiences and feedback from participants both at the start and the reception. The seriousness of monitoring and preparing young people and families in particular is second to none. If this adventure tempts you, run register! It is a very enriching experience for everyone!
