The long time establishment that is Todd's Guitars etc. is beyond a shadow of a doubt one of the best music shops in all of Northern Colorado. Not only is the staff always up-to-date with knowledge of gear, instruments (domestic and international), and the music culture itself, but I know the owner truly cares about the musical education and personal betterment of young people in Longmont. The music teachers there, in my experience, have always been outstanding, knowledgeable, and multi-talented musicians. There have been times in the shop where it can be busy and difficult to get service, but that is only because the staff is doing its best to get to everyone's needs. They have gone out of their way to sell to musicians all around the country, and have had the opportunity to invite some of the best musicians or acts from around the world to perform at their shop (e.g. Doyle Dykes, Taylor Guitar Roadshow). This is also a mildly biased view of the shop, because I grew up with it myself. I was first a window shopper (and if you've ever been there, you could understand why), and eventually I worked there as a staff member. Todd has been very kind to me by hiring me on more than one time in my life. And although there were times I where was difficult, as well as the management, I have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone there. There is only one music shop that I feel confident in going to. I highly recommend this shop and the competence of everyone there. Thank you Todd. I'm praying for you constantly.

Very well stocked local family business always has just what we need! They are very involved with the school music programs and also have great people available for lessons and repairs.

Todd and his staff are great people. I have purchased both acoustic and electric guitars, as well as amps, from him. He will give you good, solid information and there is no pressure to buy something you don't want. In addition, he sponsors wonderful concerts and clinics in his performance space in the basement of the building. Longmont is fortunate to have a music store of this caliber. I highly recommend doing business with him.

Last week I purchased a guitar at Guitars Etc and I couldn't be happier! Louis provided excellent customer service. Their inventory of high end stuff is just ridiculous. I definitely recommend!

Great selection and friendly customer service. Appreciate that they carry concert band instruments too. Head upstairs for the acoustic guitars and banjos, or downstairs for the repair shop.

READ THIS REVIEW!!! In a current world of division, political hell, Covid and a desperate economy, the serendipitous angels of hope can show up in the most unique of places. I am a former touring and recording guitarist who as joyfully settles into continued teaching, mentoring and local gigs on the Atlanta Georgia area. In this last holiday season, I decided to send a guitar to my precious goddaughter who lives on the California coast. Well I sent the Guitar through UPS who after weeks of no a no show, only loosely claimed that they had no idea what happened to it and claimed no responsibility. Well an angel named Todd who owns and operates Guitars Etc. In Longmont CO received a package (my package intended for my goddaughter) and took the time to track me down, reach out to me, secure the package and is holding it in the hopes that UPS will do their job and get it where it needs to go. What Todd didn t know is that I m losing my step son to cancer and that my goddaughter is battling fierce depression and this was a gift of hope for her. Todd is just being himself and running a business reflecting the integrity that he so obviously possesses. You don t see this everyday! Give them your business!!! They have earned it!! I know I will.

You guys are never open and so rude. Prices are wayyyyyyt to high. And also no one wants to steal your items.

What s that I hear? There s finally a Bourgeois Guitar Dealer in Colorado?!?!

I played hooky and drove up to Longmont yesterday to check out Guitars Etc. They have four brand new Bourgeois Dreadnoughts in stock and I d been hoping to get my hands on this builder for quite some time. I d never been to Guitars etc before what a treat!

First off, I wish every town in America had a music store like this. The Etc. in Guitars etc includes just about everything you could ever need. Huge selection of Brass and woodwind instruments, live sound equipment, recording gear, drums, keyboards, ukulele s, banjo s, mandolins, strings, harmonicas, books, lesson rooms & teachers, rental service, a repair shop, a musicians workshop space downstairs, amps, guitars, guitars, guitars, etc, etc, etc.

It s a shame I have to drive an hour to get to Longmont, or I d be here a lot more often!

I haven t even talked about the best part of the visit yet the people at Guitars Etc. Tyler welcomed me right away and pointed out the premium acoustic room upstairs where I met the store owner, Todd. Todd has recently been in serious motorcycle accident but it barely slowed him down. He was crutching himself around, handing me guitars, pulling special instruments out of his personal collection for me to try, having me sing songs for his wife, and exchanging some wonderful stories you can only accumulate after decades in the business. His engaging positive personality is contagious. You can just tell right away that he has a deep love for what he does and a humble appreciation for the role he plays as an enabler of both music making and educating in his community.

The guitar tasting was the best I ve ever experienced . I probably played 15+ premium guitars over 4 hours; Collings, Breedlove, Bourgeois, Waterloo, Taylor, Martin. Several Brazilian Rosewood Guitars, a magnificent jumbo Koa Breedlove... WHAT AN AMAZING SELECTION! Truly a treat. I was really drawn to both their large soundhole Bourgeois Dreads that Rosewood especially worked well for my voice. Alas, I was not prepared to pick one up yesterday, but I know exactly where I m going when I get the OK from my wife. And you better believe for any other future instrument purchases I ll be grabbing lunch in Longmont at one of the great restaurants in their lovely downtown area, then spending the rest of the day upstairs at Guitars Etc.

I was so deeply moved by my experience with the folks at Guitars Etc. Their selection and professionalism is only surpassed by their service and philosophy. Todd and Tyler never once made me feel pressured to buy, or that I was wasting their time. They were so accommodating and fun to talk to and play music with. Tyler gave me an impromptu flatpicking lesson, and Todd insisted my corporate gig is not where I should be spending my time (a genuine compliment that is making me smile as I write this).

I had to give Todd a hug on the way out. Guitars Etc is my new favorite music store in Colorado. And we have some great ones. I ll be back soon!

Looking for a particular high end Gibson. Todd had it, let me come by and try it before the store opened. Not an ounce of pressure, good humor, great info and a cup of coffee to boot!

Very cool store. I went there specifically for a music stand for my wife. Prompt service showed me what I came for quickly. I couldn't leave without browsing the guitar selection. There was a lot to look at. The acoustic selection is also top notch. The guy that showed me the room really knew his stuff. I will be back. My main reason for choosing this store was to support a real music store not a box store or virtual store. We'll done Guitars Etc.

First time I have ever been in. I needed a midi cable but after how well I was treated I walked around the store to see what they had so I can come back later to get a guitar. Prices are just right. Kid workin in there knew his stuff and knew the store.

Todd sat and talked with me while I played several acoustic guitars. They were all set up and cared for extremely well, and he was patient and happy to answer many questions I had about guitars, DI's, and pick-ups. I played many guitars from several other stores in the following week, but none were cared for the way they were at Guitars Etc. I ended up purchasing one of the first guitars I played at Guitars Etc and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who's serious about buying a new acoustic guitar!

The wonderful staff answered my myriad of questions and were extremely helpful and resourceful. Todd is a fantastic guy that really cares about the customer and the quality of both the instruments and the experience of shopping there. Could not recommend enough!

The selection and variety of a big box store, with the friendly, helpful, great staff of a small shop. I went in a couple times as I was weighing my options for a new guitar, and Louis was amazingly helpful and attentive - he gave me great information and support, but also let me have alone time with the guitars to really test them for myself, never rushing me or pressuring me. While I was weighing different options in different price ranges, he was very honest and helpful in finding what was important to me personally, and treated my process and decision with as much respect as if I were buying a house. I never felt pushed to get something more expensive, it was more about what felt right to me. They really 'get' it here, that an instrument is a long term investment and more - it is a partner and a tool in creativity. I had a wonderful experience here, and I couldn't be happier with my new classical guitar - this is definitely going to be my go-to store for my future instrument needs. Thank you all so much, especially Louis, for your wonderful help. I'm far from being a musician, but you guys really treated me like one. Thank you!!!

Over the last year i have bought over 80 guitars (yes, it s a sickness-the persuit of the perfect tone). This was one of the best purchases, a very smooth transaction, timely shipping and attention to detail. Guitar was very well packed, set up great ready to play and they even included the package from the new strings they put on it so i knew what kind they are and the gage. And all this for a very good price for a beautiful guitar, thanks!

As always. Todd Skaw, Louis Gassner and the entire staff really know how to take care of their customers. I had a custom Tom Anderson guitar built for me and Todd worked it out with Anderson Guitar Works to have the serial number of my new guitar reflect my 50th birthday. That was so special to me! Just goes to show that he will go the extra mile to make the buying experience a special one. I have bought many instruments from their store and I couldn t be happier. They are the goto store for instruments and music instruction. Love them!

Has really expensive stuff. Wouldn't recommend going here as there items are way more expensive then what you can get by just going across the street to the other music store.

What an excellent store! From the owner on down, entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Todd Skaw (owner) was right there at the front of store, greeting customers and offering help and advice. All the staff members are prompt to offer help and service. Talk about a wonderful selection of guitars! All the best gear too. From pedals to cases, strings and things, they have it all. I popped in on a family visit to Longmont, Co and was surprised and pleased with my experience at Guitars Etc. They have my business locked down!

Everyone who works there is always friendly and helpful. Their focus is to ensure the most positive music experince. My son has taken lessons there for 2 years now and we could not image going anywhere else. I highly recommend Guitars Etc for purchasing musical equipment and/or lessons.

Been going to Todd's for the past 5 years. It's probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Every time I go in for something, I come out with a guitar or bass from his extensive selection of gear. :) Gretsch, PRS, Fender, Ibanez, Dean, and many other lesser known brands (at least to me). Todd and the team are always friendly and helpful. One of the things I like a lot is the staff generally lets you browse and look gear over without getting into your face as soon as you walk into the shop. But when you want to try out an amp, guitar, or bass, they're right there asking what you currently have so they can plug you in to gear that sounds like yours. Todd and the staff seem to know everyone that comes in. Most folks get a by name greeting, coming and going. Todd has a broad range of connections and will chase down a guitar you're specifically looking for if he doesn't stock it. His prices are darn close to Internet prices (and Craigslist) to the point that I prefer to get it here than from the 'net.

I met Todd and his staff several years ago by a chance meeting. I was an over the road truck driver who lived in California. My dad happened to live in Longmont. While visiting him I needed some strings and a good tuner. I tried the two other stores in Longmont. One was priced way to high the other I stood there for 15 minutes without even a hello. I gave up hope. Then while at breakfast with my dad I saw Guitars Etc. I thought what a joke another clown guitar store. I went in and was completely blown away. Todd the owner greeted and asked what he could do for me. I told him my needs tuner and strings for my new acoustic. He showed me the same tuner I saw at other store for 10 bucks less. I asked him what strings he recommended he gave me two sets and said let me know what you think. I've never been treated so well or conceded with a store owner like that. Back in the 80s I was a guitar tech for several successful bands so I've met my share of store owners. I appreciated Todd so much I came back the next day and bought a guitar from him. I've since bought so many I lost count. Even when I lived in California I bought several trusting Todd judgment on how well it felt and sounded. That was huge for me because I'm picky. Never once was I disappointed. In my opinion Todd runs the best private owned store in the US. He's always looking out for his customers in every way. He has turned me away from higher priced guitars that I wanted to order and turned me towards one that was cheaper loosing profit but knowing I would be happier. You don't find honesty like that anymore. I give Guitars Etc. A 20+++ out of a possible 10. You won't be disappointed at all. If there's a problem Todd will fix it.

Great products, atmosphere and selection...but as we all know staff/service makes or breaks any business. This team of employees are genuine, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. I've been a regular customer since I found this place!

I went into Guitars Etc for the first time a few months ago after owning the same two guitars for about 20 years and played a number of Fender Strats. They have a great selection of guitars (and other instruments) and after playing a number of guitars I found a new style of neck, the new Fender Elite Strat, that really felt great to play. Only later did I realize that particular guitar was a limited edition run with a just beautiful flame maple top and neck. The owner and staff are great to work with and like any good music store you have to be a bit patient because there are always folks streaming in, but these guys will give you their all. After a few days and visiting other shops in my daily travels I couldn t get THAT guitar out of my mind and I had to buy it.

Just went in again the other day to try out some Martin acoustics and Todd spent almost an hour with me in the magical Acoustic room. Tried a number of great brands like Taylor and Collins but over a dozen guitars later I know a Martin OM-28 is in my future.

My experience with these folks has always been great. I recently bought my second guitar here after a few months of looking around, buying it at Guitars Etc. not only because they had a good selection at reasonable prices, but in no small part because the staff were knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. When I finally did make a selection, the gentleman who helped me not only showed me how to use and put in the humidifier for the guitar, but he also went out of his way to research what I might sell my old guitar for--the latter of which is way beyond the call of duty.

My family has been renting/buying equipment from this place for 5 years! They have the best customer service! They will help you find exactly what you re looking for, even if you re unsure yourself. They don t oversell or up sell. Down to earth people. We have bought: a ukulele, a guitar (or two), music stands, a piano bench, numerous guitar cords, amplifieriers, and a myriad of stuff for trumpet and trombone, not to mention ALL THE MUSIC books!

These people are terrible. Take your money somewhere else. They make you wait around for weeks and weeks to rent an instrument and can't even give you an estimated time it will come in. My daughter deserves better and so do you. Terrible service, worst I've ever experienced.

I ve been getting gear here since I found out about the place a few years back. I also live 70 miles away, so know this is a destination spot for musicians. Guitars etc. is the best guitar store in the entire state of Colorado, likely the entire Rocky Mountain Region (they also sell all other instruments). The staff are extremely knowledgeable and highly accommodating. The selection of on the wall guitars is something that needs to be witnesses in person. MANY to choose from, and a sectioned off area with multiple rooms for the acoustics. Seriously people, IT IS INCREDIBLE! You get all the time you need to play through instruments. They also keep their instruments well-tuned /maintained and ready for action. My most recent purchase was a Breedlove Custom Brazilian. A truly unique, and a one of a kind guitar! It goes great with my guitar addiction! LOL! I am looking forward to my next visit! Thanks Guitar etc.!!!

The guy on the phone was super nice and was ready to take my card info to buy a gift card, , but then came back and informed me that the company that does their gift cards was down. And they re only doing curbside pickup. Huge bummer, I hope they realize they re missing out on a lot of people that would ve wanted to support their business.

Top notch. I recently discovered Guitars Etc and I m really glad I did. Amazing customer service and super friendly staff. I brought a couple guitars in for a setup and they came back playing and sounding amazing. Instantly improved the playability of the guitars. Todd and his staff are always super helpful with any questions I have. Highly recommend this place.

Bad customer service.. Stay away. Owner has a bad attitude and did not appreciate my business during pandamic. Its ok I took my business to Jensen guitars down the street where the customer service was top notch. The Owner was rude towards my child for knocking over a sign that was not damaged and said some not so nice things. If you do go to the place do yourself a favor and leave your children at home. This place is not child friendly. Never will return to this place and would never recommend it to anyone. You sir lost a customer.!

This is the only place I'll purchase my gear from. Extremely friendly customer service, they always have exactly what I need at a good price and have a very nice facility. Todd is wonderful to work with, as well as the rest of his staff. My daughter took guitar lessons for years from John Espinosa. We couldn't have asked for better instruction. Very professional and his teaching skills are top notch. Will for sure purchase from them in the future.

I love this store! They have a great selection of guitars and accessories. I'm a relatively new guitar player and they are always willing to help me out with whatever I need. I've also bought accessories for other instruments there and have always been satisfied. Great staff, great inventory!

We've rented and purchased at least four instruments from Todd and team over the years (and I suspect there will be more). The instrument quality is always exceptional. In fact, our private instructor, who plays with Colorado Symphony, let us know that our rented clarinet was the best student instrument she'd ever heard! The insurance repairs with Nathan are also over-and-above in every respect. I can't recommend Guitars, Etc. enough. Such attentive service, always exceeding our (high) expectations.

All 3 of my kids take lessons at Guitars etc.... Todd, Ross and the rest of the staff are exceptional. They are very knowledgeable and They treat us like family. I actually look forward to seeing them every Saturday.

I was introduced to Guitars, Etc by an acquaintance a couple of years ago. In spite of the fact that I live in Littleton (almost 50 miles away), I visit Guitars, Etc every time I am anywhere near Longmont. Todd and his staff are top notch - knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Their inventory of acoustic guitars is the best in Colorado, from Collings, Bourgeois, Martin (including a few custom shop guitars with Todd's specs), Taylor, and more. Whether you are looking for a beginner guitar or your guitar of a lifetime, be sure to visit Guitars, Etc.Working with Todd and the Guitars, Etc staff will make buying that guitar you are looking for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Amazing shop with a caring staff that really know their stuff and are willing to take care of you with a smile. If he doesn t have it he can probably get it. Customer service is top notch and they have an awesome selection from the boutique to the beginner. If you re looking for your tone you ll most likely be able to find it here. Their acoustic room is unparalleled in the area. They have something for everyone in any budget. I can t speak to the band side of things since I haven t been involved with that but they offer lessons in all areas and are reasonably priced and flexible. Give them a look, I m sure you ll find something you love.

Decent selection fair prices and really helpful staff.

Yesterday I purchased a guitar from guitars etc. Todd (the owner) was very helpful and accommodating in assisting me with my purchase. He was patient while I played, and answered all the questions I had on the different guitars I was considering! This is not my first purchase from guitars etc and will not be my last! Todd and his team have provided me with excellent advice with guitar-amps and education. I have been taking guitar lessons for going on two years and find my instructor to be patient and professional. The staff are both friendly and helpful and have always helped me with my purchase decisions, fun to pop in and look at the large assortment of instruments and listen to Todd show off his guitar, bass and even banjo talent.

Bought several hundreds of dollars of musical instruments from this local establishment over the years. Then one day the owner very rudely popped off at my child for playing a banjo I indented to purchase from him. Purchased it somewhere else. I'll go back, but may not be so inclined to spend my money there.

I have been going to guitars etc for several years. The first time I was in there was to buy a mouth piece for my daughters trumpet 7 years ago. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Todd and his family are amazing people and I wouldn't want to take my intrument/musical needs anywhere else! Hands down the best place to go in Longmont for all your music needs. THE ARROGANCE AND ATTITUDE IS HIGH! I WENT HALF A BLOCK SOUTH TO JENSEN'S AND THE PLACE HAD A GREAT OWNER, GREAT VIBE AND I HAVE BOUGHT 3 GUITAR'S FROM JENSENS AND 3 OF MY STUDENT'S BOUGHT GUITAR'S AS WELL. OH AND HE(OWNER) AS SOON AS THE HIGH SCHOOL BAND CAME ABD ASKED HE WROTE THEM A CHECK ON THE SPOT FOR 150 BUCKS. SO YEAH IF YOU GAVE 2GRAND AND DON'T FEEL LIKE TRYING YOUR GUITAR OUT THEN SHOP GUITARS ETC. BUT IF YOU WANT TO BUY A GUITAR AND SHOP A PLACE YOU LOVE THEN JENSEN'S IS THE PLACE. I bought a guitar from out-of-state (from clear across the country, actually) and contacted Guitars Etc. once I received it regarding a minor issue. Without even being prompted, Todd offered to make it right and went above and beyond in doing so! I am extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and genuine kindness exhibited and would not hesitate to recommend them to a family member or good friend.

I found a Martin acoustic on Reverb that I couldn't pass up. I reached out to ask a question and was answered promptly. Todd was fantastic to work with, very communicative, and followed up with me. The guitar arrived after only a few short days. It was an incredibly easy transaction and made shopping online effortless. What a breath of fresh air dealing with such service minded professionals. They are definitely in my tone quiver and I will not hesitate to order from them again.

Tried a few times to get a rosen for a stand up bass. They never seemed to carry it. They were always on order. Keep things in stock totally would have given a 5 star. Otherwise staff seemed very helpful, and nice.

My daughter is starting to play violin, and broke a string. Not only did the salesperson install the string, he walked me through how to correctly adjust it, and other care instructions. It was obvious that I had no idea what I was doing, but the gentleman never made me feel judged or anything less that welcome and appreciated. I only spent $5 and I still felt like a VIP. I'll be giving all my music business to them. Great experience!

Guitars Etc. is by far the best Musical Instrument store along the front range. The inventory of great gear, guitars, amps, drums surpasses even the big box stores. Service is also top notch. Todd and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable, prices great, We are lucky to have a home town owned music store of this caliber in Northern Colorado. Highly Recommended!

Great place! Very knowledgeable staff & awesome service. My son also takes violin lessons here & they were great at fitting him to the correct size of violin & even do rentals for young children where you then own the final violin you child fits into when they are finished growing.
