I've used Guitar Hangar for my repairs, set ups, and purchases for years. Rick's done some tricky rewiring work, radically improving one guitar, and even a simple set up always has my axes coming back smoother and faster. They've got a really nice selection of guitars, with some great inexpensive gear and some gorgeous high-end instruments.

A real-deal mom-and-pop guitar shop, not a corporate big box store! Lessons, school band instrument rentals, repairs... Plus a huge selection of acoustic and electric guitars, bass, amps, ukuleles, drums... Guitar Hangar does it all!

Rick has been my go-to guy for basses and amplifiers for more than 10 years now. He stocks a great selection of gear in all price ranges, and if he doesn't have what you want he'll find it for you. His prices are very competitive, but where Rick really shines is in his expert knowledge of music and instruments, and his fanatical commitment to customer service.

One time I blew a speaker in a cabinet I purchased at the 'Hangar -- it was under warranty, so all I had to do was send it back to the manufacturer and wait for a replacement. Rick personally took care of shipping the blown speaker back to the maker, and when the replacement was delayed by back orders he got on the phone with them and insisted they pull a speaker from their production area and ship it to me immediately, which they did. He didn't have to to that, and I doubt anyone else would.

So I'm a Guitarhangar customer for life.

Excellent atmosphere for musicians. There's stuff for beginners, but if you're actually a guitarist, it reminds you of the days of walking into a music store and being surrounded by gear you're actually interested in and other musicians who are too. It's not like the Walmart Style music stores that are filled with people butchering Metallica riffs at ear splitting levels while you wade through $99 guitar bundles looking for actual gear!

I brought in a brand-new Jazzmaster to have it set up with some strap locks installed and a tiny spot in the finish buffed out. I dropped the guitar off at noon and Rick told me I'd get it back later that day. 2 hours later he calls and I picked it up on my way home. It's set up excellently and I'm happy as heck to play this thing now. I would highly recommend the Guitar Hangar for general guitar needs, and of course their selection of guitars is fancy!

Best in the business. Rick and team have a world of experience in the music world. Their team of instructors are top notch. Rick spent the time to work with me (as I am a beginner) to learn and advise me, not sell. My daughter takes weekly lessons, bass and guitar, I see continual improvement from Guitar Hangers' positive learning environment.

My son takes guitar lessons here and he loves it! Owner is super friendly!

Make sure that you buy your merchandise from inside the store !! Do not get it from EBAY because you will end up with trash..

I saw a recent review about the store that was absolutely false (the only one star review... telling huh?) so I felt the need to leave this review. The owner of this place is awesome. He's accommodating, helpful, and chill. He'll help you with whatever you need and won't try to rip you off like big brand guitar stores. The store has an awesome selection of GOOD guitars, amps, and other instruments. You won't find countless crappy Epiphones and Squier's... You're going to find REAL guitars in here (Gibson, PRS, Nash, etc.). The store itself is clean and welcoming. If you're going to buy a guitar, give your business to Guitar Hangar, they'll treat you absolutely right!

Have been a customer 12+ years. Great personalized service from true professional musicians not a random someone working in a big box store or online "consultant" reading from a script.
For quality instruments and gear, this is the place. Don't waste your time or cash elsewhere.

There aren't enough people like Rick that still have the personality and simple goodness about them. The Guitar Hanger is not a "cheapo" store, but the friendliness and great service that Rick provides can make you feel that your shopping at a old friend's store. Go there. Meet him. Try the equipment. There's never any pressure.

It's the little things a local music can offer that matter. In-person testing, advice when you need it, good selection of "emergency" accessories, and as I can tell, well-equipped and skilled instrument repair. They also sell used items, which I found helpful. Gives me another reason to check on stock periodically. But the main difference that I personally enjoyed is the owner (Rick) was not pushy at all, very accommodating to let me test things out, and gave the space I need to enjoy the instruments in his shop. And that is really what a guitar shop should be. A place to get to know the feel of an instrument. My only pondering (not really a complaint), is they did not have any keyboard gear out and ready to try. But I would much rather enter a place that fills a specific niche really well, rather than try to be too many things poorly. For this choice to stick to their expertise, applaud them.

The whole team is great! Rick is the best. Had a issue with a guitars pickups buzzing. He brought it to the back for approximately two minutes, gave it back to me and boom, it worked just like new. Some kind of ground wire was actually missing. I recently ordered a effect pedal from Rick and it got here in half the time it was supposed to!!! Definitely will be going back there. Thsee guys know their stuff. It's impressive. Great place!!!
