We went to the 1817 restaurant today. The food and beer were all delicious. The service was great at the restaurant and all of the staff around the brewery and store. Will be back again soon!
We went to the 1817 restaurant today. The food and beer were all delicious. The service was great at the restaurant and all of the staff around the brewery and store. Will be back again soon!
Beers were amazing of course, but I'm surprisingly pleased food was also fantastic. So much more to appreciate here too if you love beer!
Fun tour, informative guide, delicious beer. We had a great time.
Today is my birthday and for once it wasn't raining so what better to do than to go to the new Guinness Brewery in my hometown?? It was my first time and I was so excited. It was fabulous! Guinness is my favorite so I was absolutely in my element. Sat in the bar area in a cushy chair. Ordered the Guinness Beef Stew and the service was incredibly quick, even with a considerable crowd. I loved it. You will, too.
The building is beautifully designed and lots of space for guests. Service was not some thing I would compliment. They have a lot of work to do for that. Other than the service, this place is amazing! Would definitely recommend!
Very nice venue! Beer options were great! Don't get the pretzels... taste like they were microwave red-headed
A great choice! I was looking for some place different to celebrate my husband s 53rd birthday with family. The atmosphere was amazing! Families, friends and children sitting around, playing corn hole, jenga and kicking balls around while listening to music while enjoying drinks and food. We actually went to the crab feast which was well worth the money. The staff made sure we were catered to the entire 3 hours and the food was great! My 76 year old mom enjoyed it so much she asked when the next crab feast was scheduled and she doesn t even drink. What a memorable day. We even had crab mallets to take home and the opportunity to purchase glassware to commemorate his birthday. If you haven t had the chance to spend time here, you re missing out! We will definitely be returning!
We visited the Baltimore Guinness Open Gate Brewhouse today it was definitely worth the drive, the tour was great as was the beer tasting at the end. They have a lot of experimental beers on tap plus bottles that you can only get from Ireland. The food was very impressive too.
We took the tour and really enjoyed it! This is a great place to meet up for happy hour!
It's Guinness! What's not to like? Seriously, it's more then just the signature Draft Guinness many are familiar with. Guinness has many beers to sample, and the Maryland experimentation beers were very interesting... hope they don't lose those recipes!
Ps: you can't see it via Google Maps, but the outdoor area is huge and inviting.
This place has an awesome atmosphere but the food just doesn t cut it. Had an awful experience at the restaurant in the Fall with appetizers coming after dinner was served, cold soup, never being asked for another beer and a server
that spent more time socializing at the hostess stand than paying attention to her customers. Won t try the restaurant again but tried the bar again tonight since the weather was perfect. Again food was awful but the atmosphere is great. So want to love this place.
Excellent selection of beer! Loved the fish and chips on the bar menu.
Love this place. If you like Guinness this is definitely the best place to get it. Staff was super friendly.
We enjoyed our experience at Guinness. The tour was very informative and our tour guide, Justin, was enjoyable and entertaining. The tasting was an added bonus and we truly enjoyed all four beers. After our tour, we ate dinner in the restaurant. Our server, Isaac, did a fantastic job and all of our food was tasty. We especially loved the Crab Bisque and all three flatbreads. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Scallops and Asparagus Risotto. We will go back again!
The experimental beers and beef stew were great. No regrets here.
The Guinness Brewery is an awesome place with great people and amazing food. I highly recommend going!
visited in normal times and it is a great space with fantastic food and beer. Staff is awesome. Went yesterday during their order/pay online, choose a time slot and get selections placed in your car - event. well run, easy, great staff. And they're do so many great things for the community now - support local businesses that are pulling their weight.
The brewery and their outdoor seating space is beautiful. Currently they have excellent measures set in place due to Covid with table set apart, mobile ordering of food and enforcing masks strictly.
Great experimental beers (some you can only get there on draft), food options, store, tours and cool space inside and out
It is a beautiful brewery ,but it had only 2 corn hole games and no other games to play. They should have bocce and/or Can Jam. Only service dogs are allowed. Will have to go back once the restaurant opens. The large open green space needs to be utilized by other games or a water feature.
Wonderful experience with the Tour, tasting and food at the 1817 Restaurant! Made for an awesome experience for a son to spend time with his dad and something they have enjoyed for years. Will definitely be back!!
Tour was great. The tasting was absolutely worth tge extra money. Such a great place to visit. Job well done Guinness
Beer is great, tour is awesome and staff is amazing.
Great outdoor plaza for enjoying great Guiness brews and food; it'll be a great concert space post COVID. The indoor space is a well executed industrial looking restaurant, bar and tasting room.
Overall, this is an awesome venue for the Elkridge-Arbutus are which is conspicuously devoid of great gastronomic destinations.
Great tour and definitely do the tasting! The bartenders are very knowledgeable as well. The tour guide was great and gave me great tips for combos to try with the original draught stout.
Lovely to have the only Guinness plant in the United States right here in Baltimore Maryland. Ample parking room for outdoor events like concert venues. Very easy to find with ample parking. Tour guide very knowledgeable, polite and respectful answered all questions. The plant itself clean paid amish to its grand history. Wheelchair accessible and very clean oversized restrooms. The restaurant has a wonderful menu with recommendations for your next Guinness. The view is nice you also have your choice of outdoor seating. On your way out you'll find a bar with unique selections and a gift shop for Guinness souvenirs.
Loved our experience at Guinness! We booked a tour with tasting and had an awesome time. Out tour guide Christi was great - very knowledgeable and personable. The facilities are nice - clean, food and drinks everywhere - the perfect setting :) We'll definitely be back!
It is definitely more of a tourist trap than a real brewery. The beer was pretty bland, and the place gets crowded early. There were also lots of security people walking around.
Definitely a must go if you're visiting out of town or even locally. Really nice and clean. Employees are attentive and very cheerful.
Great tour. Historical and instructive.
Enjoyed the ride and especially the old advertising material. Tasting, cafeteria, rooftop bar were all memorable. Well worth the visit.
Even the gift shop was original.
A friend and I visited on a Tuesday night. We didn't realize that the restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday. No worries, cause we went to the Taproom and had some food and had a great bartender, Alishama (sp?). We also met Corey who explained everything to us and told us about the facility and to make sure we come back for brunch. We can't wait to go back! Love the no TV concept!
Great customer service, could use more shade outside.
The Guinness Brewery was very fun for the St. Patrick's Day event. We will definitely be going back for the tour and restaurant on a regular day. We are especially looking forward to using the great outdoor hang out space in the warmer months.
Nice outside area with plenty of space and seating and wooden table/benches. Large grass area and games available to play (Cornhole sets, Jenga, etc.). The taproom is also pretty decently sized with lots of tables and a large bar. Several food options from a food truck outside, bar food from the taproom and a restaurant. Definitely family friendly if you wish to bring kids. Beer was good with some interesting experimental things to try out.
Came for the beer and learned a great deal about Guinness the brand and how there bru masters create test micro beers.
Got to purchase from their exclusive tapped beer offering and then to participate in a supervised beer sampling experience.
Excellent tour. Outstanding beer tasting experience.
Very spacious indoors and out. Parking can be a little tight. Plenty of food to offer, outdoor games, and all the Guiness you want.
This brewery is wonderful in summer or early fall, but by the time it gets cold, there's not enough space for everyone indoors and the lines for beer get absolutely insane. There's nowhere to sit down and hang out. For a place that really seems to rely on their outdoor space/seating, y'all are waiting too long to invest in some outdoor space heaters.
The 1817 restaurant brunch was fantastic as were the experimental beers. The tour was great, too.
This place is amazing! Stopped in while I was in the area on vacation before a Baltimore game. This place has a great Guinness store, food and various types of Guinness beer. There's lots of seating and the views of the factor are awesome. Next time I'm in town I'm going to stop in again. Cheers!!
Not as busy as expected. Love the foreign extra stout! Great, fast service!
Really nice place to enjoy different locally brewed beers. Huge space to sit outside so did not go inside the building this time. Would like to visit again soon.
Delicious beer, great food, and an awesome atmosphere!
Also, their COVID-19 precautions are top notch and make you feel very safe.
They are offering curbside pickup as well as multiple seating options.
There is expansive outdoor seating and indoor seating as well and ordering is done through QR codes on your table. The food menu for outside differs from the menu for indoor seating.
Restaurant is great the place is clean, staff is wonderful. They will inform you about all drinks available. They give excellent recommendations for pairings whenever you are eating the brewery tours are great. The food is excellent the burger is top grade and the salad was delicious. I would say I didnt find anything wrong with my visit.
It was my first time and a great experience. It was my first time trying Guinness as well. The tour was fabulous (6:30) as well as the tasting. There was so much information that I hope to take the tour again with other friends some day. The atmosphere and food at 1817 was excellent.
Great food, and of course beer. Met friends here for a Saturday out, and we enjoyed ourselves till close. The staff was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Will be going there again
Beautiful setup. Beer is great. However the wait staff is super disorganized. We sat at the tables in the bar area and were completely ignored by staff. We eventually had to pull a server over but then proceeded to barely get service.
I don't think the wait staff have assigned tables or something because I saw others having the same issue. They need to get their staff organized at the tables. I doubt we'll go back anytime soon.
Don't come here it's no good. Lol, it's Guinness what else do you expect.
Very good food and service. Friendly people and nice atmosphere. Didn't go on tour to crowded. Already visited the one in Dublin, Ireland.
I went there to tour the brewery. Truly enjoyed the experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable & engaging with the group. Make sure you include the tasting with your tour!!
My wife and I came to the brewery for the tour and beer tasting. The facilities were very clean and well organized. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, inside and out. All of the decorations from the Dublin factory are cool and they offer a great selection of merchandise in the gift store. The staff were friendly and relatable; they seemed to enjoy their jobs. The tour was alright. It included a lot of great info but what was physically toured wasn t that extensive. But as you learn on the tour, only about a 1/4 of the property is in use by Guinness. Nonetheless, we never left the building, which was disappointing. Our tour guide was great and the audio system they use is efficient. Also, the tour is free! The beer tasting wasn t very extensive but it was informative and the beer offered was diverse and good. I d like to see more beers offered in the beer tasting; 4 small beer samples just isn t enough.
Guinness Open Gate is great ! Large selection of beers on tap , tasty food and the staff are more than helpful..
This place is amazing with great beers and food. I cant wait to come here again.
The beer is awesome! Baltimore is ready for this relaxed, outdoor, fun venue. I like the fact that there are no servers...just belly up to the bar. The bus staff is on it and keep up with the empty glasses. The bar food is terrible however. No selection, nothing but chips. The corn beef was fatty and tough and the rye was stale. I'll be back but I'll be sure to eat first.
Wide variety of beers to try. Pub food was good. Employees very friendly. Ice cream sandwich from the outside food truck was very good. If you want to take a tour call ahead.
What's not to like? It's the Guinness tap room with a couple experimental beers you can't get anywhere else. Some of the bartenders are super knowledgeable, some not so much. Beers were super tasty and there's a large selection. There is food served and while we didn't try any it looked and smelled delicious. The bar also provides an interesting view of parts of the actual brewery.
Great atmosphere!! Family environment. Very much worth the 90 minute drive
Everyone there was amazing, the tour was fun and interesting (Ashley was terrific), and the fish and chips at the tap house was incredible.
Well worth a visit. Interactive tour and extensive tasting. Our guide was great.
A most excellent & well organized brewery! The outside field is really its finest attribute on a nice day! I've ordered their pretzels & and their Guinness beef stew. The pretzels were really good and paired well with the beer offerings. The Guinness beef stew was just okay. I've heard from other accounts ttyheir restaurant meals could be better as well.
Their beer offerings have much to offer and are part of a rotating schedule. The traditional pint of Guinness is not actually brewed here, so if you want the authentic beer you'd have to head over to Dublin, Ireland. Then again, if you're heading over there for an authentic Irish beer Guinness isn't it. A pint of Guinness is actually an English style beer lol. You'd be better off with an Irish Red Ale or a Cream Ale
Went 03/17/2019 for St.Patricksday. Brent was at the front gate. I went through the front gate twice like an Irishman to try to get another beer, I expected to get stopped eventually, but never talked to like Brent talked to me like a criminal. Instead of a good time, I felt like the place was a prison. Guinness is a whole sale brewery here in Maryland selling $6.50 a beer? Outrageous.
I love Guinness, but the way they ran it, I won't be coming back or be buying it.
Pub style atmosphere in restaurant. Menu includes omnivore and vegetarian options that are moderately priced. Staff is attentive and friendly. Food is aesthetically pleasing and delicious.
They have amazing selections for beer, no surprise there. The staff were warm and informative. The food was impeccable, especially paired with the beer. I had a great experience here as I learned a lot and generally enjoyed.
Best tourist experience in Baltimore. The atmosphere was great and the beers were awesome.
Fantastic tour, great food, and a wide selection of new beers to try. A great way to spend an afternoon in Baltimore!
As a preview tap room, this was pretty great. Big space, plenty of seats. Plenty of beers, 4 brewed locally. One you could not get outside of Ireland until recently. The prices aren't too bad either. Plenty of outside tables and cornhole. Seems like they are going to work to have decent food truck presence too. The staff was very friendly and pretty quick. My big complaint is that it is pretty darn loud. They should probably ad some sound absorbing tiles on the ceiling or something. It is not surprising, as it is a large industrial space.
Excellent brewery and beer. 4 star for the bar and restaurant set up. Great outdoor dining tables with option of indoor seating. Come early because as the afternoon turns to evening it gets very busy with standing room and long waits. Definitely worth the visit.
Tap room has amazing food!! Great experience. great design
Great food and great customer service. Be ready to pay for your experience, but it s worthwhile! Also, stunningly clean bathrooms are a major plus. Will visit again!
Was attending a IES/IEEE Event at this facility, the staff was very professional and atentative to our group. The facility was interesting to visit. The food and drinks were great. I highly recommend this place to all.
This place is a blast! We have been twice now and both times we had breakfast or lunch and the food was amazing! The beer selection is unique and I haven t tried anything I haven t liked yet. Staff is friendly and helpful!
The tour and atmosphere of this establishment was amazing.
I went to the restaurant warm opening tonight by invitation. I've seen the Guinness building by the road, and thought it was just part of the industrial row with the adjacent buildings. Once you pass through the gates, the interior courtyard is spacious and very modern. The steps leading inside are tall and grand looking. The inside is a mix of cement walls and pillars from the original building construction mixed with modern lighting and decor.
On the walk-in level is the tap room, which was considerably larger than I expected. The staff was very friendly and patient - there was no rush to take an order and serve a beer. Many here-only beers were available. The Black IPA was great.
Upstairs was the restaurant. Service was great, as was the food. Plenty of seating space with modern tables and seating options (rounded couches, table tops, and bar-stools). Food was brought out in a timely manner and prepared to order. Our table had a salad, crisped pork, French Onion soup, burgers, a Delmonico steak, scallops, and an orzo dish - all well done.
I did not expect a "brewery" to have a restaurant I would consider going out to dine, but I will be back. On a side note, the bar serves only Guinness products and not liquor.
The facility is beautiful, the tour was fun and informative. I had a great time and I can't wait to go back!
Great brewery tour! The bar and food are also great. They have a great outside space, can't wait until summer!
Friendly and informative staff. Plenty of space. Outstanding food. Best fries I've had, and the Churro Donuts were out of this world
Good place for a beer. Wide selection. Good food and spacious! Plenty of room to spread out in the outdoor area when the weather is nice.
The experimental beers are always great and fun to try. Food is delicious and quick. Environment is chill and family friendly. Always a good time. Picked up food and beer during the quarantine and was all just as good to go, plus it supports the MD Food Bank.
The 1817 restaurant is phenomenal! We were 2 hours early for our reservation and they accommodated us. Our server was extremely attentive and communicative! The food was EXTRAORDINARY! They had a great beer menu. I REALLY enjoyed chilling in the courtyard, they have plenty of beer games to entertain, but i liked people watching! The outside bar was great! They keep the grounds pretty clean and everyone working there, both inside and outside were so friendly! I recommend this spot to anyone looking to experience the awesomeness of Baltimore!!
So glad we live ten minutes away from this amazing place! I can't wait to come back again and again. The outdoor/indoor feel gives it all weather appeal. So glad for Maryland and all the tourism Guinness will bring to the area.
The food was pretty good but the service at all levels was absolutely terrible. To start from the beginning, we were first told we had to wait 2.5 hours for a table so we ordered starter food and beers downstairs while waiting. Less than an hour later we were paged for our table and told we couldn't bring our food we had just ordered upstairs. Once upstairs, we sat for almost 15 minutes before even being greeted. Once eventually getting greeted it took almost 20 minutes to get our beers. The food (an $18 burger and crab bisque) was surprisingly good, though we waited another 20 minutes for beers and water while eating. Finally, to finish the night, several people ordered a final round of beers that never came. When we asked to just cancel our order and get our checks, we weren't even given the slightest apology and were simply told by the waitress that she forgot to put in the order. She then offered one person a free beer after he questioned the service at which point she even then brought back the wrong beer. I say all this given many years in the restaurant industry and encourage all to think hard before spending your hard earned money here. There are many places you could go to get better service and better food for a fraction of the price and hastle. If you do make it out, remember the cheap food (also great tasting) and decent service can be had downstairs while the expensive food (though still good) and terrible service seems to be upstairs. To give you a fair non biased perspective, we also had a lengthy conversation with the table adjacent to us before leaving about how they had been having a similar experience. Furthermore, be aware of coming out on cold days because the patio, despite a good attempt with heaters, is unenjoyably cold. At the least, the establishment should invest in dropdown vinyl covers that close off the patio to retain the heat.
If you love Guinness beer and a great atmosphere come here. Came here for an happy hour and had a great time. They have a tour which is very informative about the history of Guinness and very interesting experimental beers that you can only drink from that location. People are friendly and the building is very modern and pleasing to the eyes. This place is fairly new opening late August and is a bunch of space and potential to host events. Just a warning they only sell Guinness beer not other liquors or wines.
It's a corporate brewery but they've set it up to be family friendly. Decent food and good beers. We enjoyed our visit and will be back soon.
Great stop for beer lovers, especially Guinness lovers. They pour the perfect pint for sure.
They also offer pints and flights of their many experiment brews. These include your typical craft brewery offerings: ipas, pale ales, blonds, sours and stouts.
The inside bar is quite spacious but I can't wait till the weather warms up to sit outside in their immense patio area.
Service was great and the bartenders were friendly.
If you want to do the tour make sure you book it well in advance as it is a must-see.
The gift shop is also amazing. Lots of Guinness swag including shirts, jackets, mugs, glasses, barware, growlers, etc.
You can also get a pint of Guinness with your picture transposed onto the head!
They only serve beer and soft drinks (no wine or cocktails) and the menu consists of mostly bar food and apps.
I've been here 6 times in 2 weeks since finding out its 14 mins from me. I absolutely love this place. Great vibes. The beer is great. The prices isnt bad . And the outside is what sold me. I love coming and I was able to bring my children. A mist must visit if your in Maryland
Wow. Opening weekend! Perfect. If you missed it. You missed it. Restaurant opens by end of August. Gearing up to go again.
Great beer, food and building. Clean and modern. Fun and safe.
The tour guides are awesome (Sam), and the guided beer tasting was informative. Great shop and outside venue. Guinness Blonde beer was delicious.
Great customer service, great atmosphere and great beer equals a great time!
Thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and beverages at a private event upstairs. The service and good was great.
Great beer and food!! People are very nice and accommodating. Can't wait to come back!
The beer is great, the food is great. The remote ordering makes getting more food/drink seamless without having to wave down an overburdened server. It was relaxing and seemed to be a good spot for a date night as well.
As long as you like Guinness, of course.
Go at night and chill next to a fire with a group of close friends.
Staff very friendly
Food was good and the beer was great
Good beer and usually good food, but not this Ruben! It had too much fat!
I asked the bartender if it was lean. She said that she didn't know because she never had it. Shouldn't all the employees know about all the products they sell??
Went to the restaurant for husbands birthday and was disappointed that their full menu wasn t on offer as it was Paddy s weekend. No mention of that on website or when we booked. Food was good but everything was lukewarm except fish:( Personalized Guinness was a great idea but won t be returning to restaurant.
Nice beer list for everyone. Big beer garden with lots of seating. Highly recommended for when the weather gets warm!
