A very nice old-fashioned mill where you can still buy genuine old-fashioned products such as flour, yeast but also baking utensils. You will be helped by friendly staff and they will explain everything patiently about how to use and about recipes

We were warmly welcomed by the miller and given a tour of the mill. I can imagine that this does not happen every day, it was a quiet moment. Then selected delicious things to bake a tasty cake.

Molen de Hoop, an 8-sided tower mill that you can visit by appointment.
The shop selling flour and baking products is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There is also a website where you can order their products. Bouwhuis.com

The mill was built in 1850 by H.B. Meyer. Two years later (1852), the mill is owned by the Pijnappel family. Around 1900, the windmills of Babberich, Ooy (municipality of Zevenaar), Duiven, Pannerden, Klarenbeek, and Posterenk also owned the Pijnappels. They are therefore a real miller and bakery family.

After the 4th generation, no one in the family was interested in taking over the farm and bakery. A new generation presented itself for the mill: Jan Pijnappel. At that time milling fodder was the main activity of Molen De Hoop.

Here we get our pancake flour and other bakery products for cake and cake, for example. Much tastier than supermarket products. The staff is very friendly. You can park well there. Keep in mind the days that they are open.
