Molen de Hoop, an 8-sided tower mill that you can visit by appointment.
The shop selling flour and baking products is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There is also a website where you can order their products. Bouwhuis.com
The mill was built in 1850 by H.B. Meyer. Two years later (1852), the mill is owned by the Pijnappel family. Around 1900, the windmills of Babberich, Ooy (municipality of Zevenaar), Duiven, Pannerden, Klarenbeek, and Posterenk also owned the Pijnappels. They are therefore a real miller and bakery family.
After the 4th generation, no one in the family was interested in taking over the farm and bakery. A new generation presented itself for the mill: Jan Pijnappel. At that time milling fodder was the main activity of Molen De Hoop.
