Amazing meal. Everything was so good. Really excited to hear that everything on the brunch menu except the French toast could be made vegan. Vegan hash was excellent! Vegan banana chocolate cake with coconut sorbet was incredibly good. Highly recommend for outstanding vegan dining experience!!

We had a visitor from Beijing China ,and we had picked GREENS to be a perfect place to for him to have a dinner. All of us enjoyed the meal surely had entertained our guest with excellent choice of location.

Went for brunch but the kitchen was not open. Got a sandwich from the to go section. Flies all over the scones. The sandwich was disgustingly soggy and the "mozzarella" was flavorless. Overpriced for crap food.

Amazing vegan burger where you can barely tell it's vegan. The shrooms burger is creamy with some crunch. Bun was bland but flavors of the inside were prime. Side of broccoli was some of the best broccoli I've had - a good snap and flavored with salt, lemon, and something spicy.

Amazing vegetarian food and amazing ambiance! Be sure to grab a seat by the window around sunset. Prices are reasonable considering the very high quality of the food. Creative recipes. Innovative flavors. Nothing mimicking meat. Managed by the Zen Center which provides free Buddhist meditation classes to the public. A truly fantastic organization to support.

Great spot for dinner that you can actually hear the other people. Cheese plate was delicious but the seed bread was off the hook. They have a cocktail and tea list that is curated like the wine list. Bee knees with lavender was amazing.

Wasy for a mixes group of vegans and meat eaters, although no meat is serves They were very flexible and everything was tasty and I left pleasantly stuffed. Just perfect to walk off to my car along the water.

I have never written a review on anything but because of my bad experience here I feel compelled.... Not sure how this is so popular or rated so highly. Way overpriced for mediocre quality of food. It's a beautiful location and the service was good, but food is really nothing special. And food portions are small.

Great fresh food and fantastic service. I loved the location, the seasonal menu and the restaurant itself has great decor and some great wood furniture. The only thing missing (on some occasions) was meat - but that's not what you go there for now is it?

Who says being vegetarian sucks? 'Cause this place will completely change your mind. It is always a challenge for me to find good vegetarian dishes when dining out, however, the menu here is so delicious sounding that it was hard to make a decision. Their menu also changes periodically so you are sure to find something new during your each new visit. I highly recommend this place to everyone, even to non-vegetarians as it will be a unique experience for them as well. The restaurant is very cozy and casual and located in a great part of San Francisco. Their service is outstanding as well. A bit expensive just to warn you all!

Went here a couple times now. Both visits were good experiences. Tried the filo wrapped cigars over stew and the veggie lasagna which was a special. Also had the arugula salad. Everything was fine, I think I would have ordered the egg yolk fettuccine or the gratin instead of lasagna as lasagna was a bit heavy for me with too much cheese and would have preferred the veggies to be cooked more as it was hard to cut through the harder kale. Perhaps a softer dark leafy green could be used in a homey comfort food lasagna instead. For dessert I had the warm apple galette...this and the wild mushroom spinach filo were so far the best and the apple galette was a perfect ending to my first visit. Never any complaints about the professional service here. I still want to try a couple other entrees and desserts too so looking forward to my next visit!

We have been coming to Greens for years when we visit San Francisco and we are never disappointed. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the marina are spectacular (even if you are not able to snag a window table), and the food is imaginative, fresh and always delicious. We try to go for brunch as their dishes are creative and filling. Service is excellent and we highly recommend the restaurant.

The ambience is really good so 1 star for it
Outside views are really good as well if you come during sunset, so another star
Lastly, our server was fabulous. He catered to our Jain Vegetarian Diet ( no onion, potatoes, garlic), he was a Gem of a person
Sadly, the food was very dry and didn't have any taste. I would love if they add one or two more dishes to cater Jain diet
Lastly it is a little on the expensive side but definitely worth visiting for special occasions.

I'd read good and bad about this place, but it was brilliant from start to finish. Excellent food, with a great deal of attention paid to the mix of taste and texture. Wine pairing was excellent too.

Great ambiance and view of the bay. The main part though, food selection is pretty nice and feels fresh; lot of good choices for vegetarians. Worth visiting for a special occasion when you want complete package of service, food and view.

I love coming to Greens when I want a nice light meal. I recommend this restaurant to vegetarians and vegans because they carefully prepare their vegetarian food to fit many different tastes. The service is nice and the food was amazing. It tempted me to consider trying to be vegetarian for a while. I love the natural light that comes in from the windows. I would say it's a bit overpriced, but it's not too bad.

Finally had a chance to return to this wonderful restaurant
Gary Danko has been a standout in San Francisco for many years, and it's still necessary to plan two months in advance for a reservation. We had originally planned to go in June for a special occasion, but we had to postpone several times until we finally were able to go. The restaurant reservation staff was most accommodating, part of...

The ambience was beautiful and expectations were high, but unfortunately they weren t met. The appetizers were good, but the $24 overcooked pasta which tasted like it had been tossed in sweet barbecue sauce was terrible. The tofu dish was also bland. We hoped the dessert would redeem the overall meal but it was underwhelming too. Service was also extremely slow making an already unenjoyable meal very slow to get through. Sad experience as we are always excited about vegetarian hot spots.(Two stars is for the cocktails/wine selection and the lovely setting)

Even though I'm not vegetarian myself, I find vegetarian restaurants always satisfy by focusing on flavours and textures just that little bit more than the omnivorous establishments. Greens certainly fits this category, and my Aloo Gobi was packed with subtle flavours to tickle my palette. Add to this the glorious twilight reaching in through the large windows, and the view towards the Golden Gate bridge, and you have here a winner. I didn't make a great wine choice, and the dishes my dinner date and I ordered arrived a little too far apart, but overall this was a very enjoyable experience.

Sure, it's relatively expensive but it is still one of the best and historical vegetarian restaurants of San Francisco. The food is not the best I really ever had but it is certainly very good (just maybe does not match entirely its price). Very romantic if you get a table near the windows!

Had their lunch options for takeout and was delighted by everything I ordered. Friendly staff, but what's available for lunch is limited so be sure to get there early if you want something in particular.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! I'd highly recommend it to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Took my girlfriend here for a romantic Valentine's day and had delicious food. One if the best desserts I've ever had and nice live music.

The atmosphere is calm and a little classy with natural wood all around. The staff is professional and very friendly.

I want to believe that perhaps we were just there on a bad night, but the food was outstandingly bland, the chefs should be commended on their amazing ability to completely forget to season anything.

If you're in San Francisco for a short period of time don't waste your time or money here. Perhaps wouldnt have been as awful if the prices hadn't been at least double what the dish was actually worth.

Expensive, bland and lacking in any atmosphere.

Great ambiance. Disappointing food. Too complicated and not filling. Not enough vegan options. No separate vegan menu or labeling which is very weird for a vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco in 2018. This pasta I got was slipping around in a little broth with some flavorless vegetables mixed in. It was supposed to be fettuccine but the fettuccine noodles are made with animal products so they substituted with this flavorless spaghetti. I ate at home afterwards.

This restaurant is situated in an amazing location with breathtaking views of the Golden Gate bridge, as well as a beautiful, natural setting inside the restaurant. For example, they have tree stumps that make little tables. Overall, it creates a welcoming ambiance. For dinner, we ordered three appetizers and four main dishes, all of which were extremely delectable and scrumptious. I think one of my favorite dishes was the chanterelle mushroom pasta main dish, and the two salad appetizers. We also got the assortment of cheeses as an appetizer, which was also quite delicious. Finally, we had the absolutely delicious flourless chocolate molten cake with butterscotch ice cream on the side. It was absolutely amazing! I definitely want to come back to this restaurant again soon.

This place definitely deserves all the raves it gets! The location and the view out of the dining room are great! We stopped in for lunch and got seated right at our reservation time. Lunch was great - we ended up sharing hummus, soup, the grilled cheese with apples and spring roles. Portion sizes are small-to-normal sized, so we also had room for dessert. The apple dessert was good but nothing special, and the flourless chocolate cake was awesome. One star down for getting my drink order wrong - for a place this expensive i would expect them to know the difference between Sauvignon and Pinot Blanc...

What's not to say about this place? It's hands down the best vegetarian place I've been to. Anytime I'm in San Fransisco, I make it a point to have dinner there. The ambiance is awesome (right on the pier) and the customer service is equally great.

The only thing I don't like about this place was that the last time I went there, they stopped taking orders for takeout food at 8pm.

For all vegetarians & vegans this restaurant is a must!

The restaurant is beautifully designed & has a great atmosphere. The food is delicious. I would certainly recommend the lasagna. Fantastic wine/beer options & well priced.

If you're lucky Teddy will be your waiter, he certainly made the night even more enjoyable for us.

We just finished a lovely Saturday brunch at Greens and will definitely return when we visit SFO, again. Service was lovely and quick. Everything we ordered was really good and creative. But a special mention of the smoked cheddar and chive biscuits - divine!! But order with extra jalapeno butter, ur gonna want it, believe me.

This place was one of our favorites for a family outing. My father preferring a fresh vegan menu and aesthetically beautiful environment with equally great service, this was a hit in our families eyes. Delicious food wonderful ambiance

This restaurant is just AMAZING!
The flavor of the food is absolutely delicious and the ingredient combinaison are original, almost adventurous.
But, added to that, we had a fantastic service and ambiance.
You have to go there when you pass by.
Vegeterian yes, but anyone will enjoy.
