My family is quite satisfied with our family doctor. He is very professional, and we ve never had to wait too long to get an appointment with him.

The few times that a sudden illness has come on and he wasn t available, we were able to see another doctor the same day. I think that s wonderful service.

Our family doctor is also great at communicating via the clinic s secure email service. A wonderful resource for a new mom.

I am a patient at Greenbelt since it was opened. My doctor was retired, so I have to find another one at that time. At first, it was ok, but lately, I find very hard to get the services. There are long waits on the phone and checking in. It has an online portal for patients to send messages to doctors, but lately, no replies. I found doctors there aren't very experienced, my annual check-ups just like regular appointments. This clinic has never let me feel like going to a family practice clinic, more like a walk-in. I see more family doctors are in Barrhaven now looking for new patients, I think it is time for me to move.

If you are looking for a family physician get on the waiting list - this group of doctors is fantastic. I needed care for my six children, my partner and myself. We got in 5 or 6 years ago and have been treated exceptionally well. I live with a chronic condition that requires regular bloodwork and follow up visits. My md tracks my results, phones me personally when I need to be seen in a hospital emergency room and has seen me within 3 days of my requesting an appointment. The children have all received timely and appropriate care.

I know this group of family physicians are genuinely working to improve the lives of others. They re not in it for the money and it shows.

The removing boots to save the clinic floors is a drag but would be less so if we all were a little more careful about where we leave our wet footwear...

Don t do it if you can avoid it. The answer to everything is a prescription pad, you have to wait forever to see the actual doctor ( though the RPNs are excellent), and the front staff are rude. Then, when we found another doctor for our daughter, they signed us $100 for her records, and still haven t supplied. The place is the pits.
And yeah, getting your feet soaked walking into the place in the winter is not particularly fun either

We have been patients of this clinic for several years and have found their service to be superb. The staff from reception, nurses and doctors provide stellar care. We have always been able to get a same or next day appointment. My mail messages are forwarded promptly and a response from the doctor is always quick. Our doctor always assesses what is best for the patient and, when appropriate, reduces the number of physical visits to the clinic to reduce the risk of exposure to others in the waiting room. This serves also to free up clinic appointment times for those that need one. If possible, he uses the portal to provide advice, requisitions or prescriptions leading to timely handling of minor health issues. His regular blogs are always very helpful and interesting and lead to clarification of a particular health issue.
During COVID19 frequent messages have been sent to all GBF patients to keep us updated on the latest happenings -- they are always clear, concise and easy to understand lending to a better understanding of what we need to know as citizens.
We are sure that all those working in the clinic are under tremendous stress. At times they no doubt likely feel that they are overwhelmed and experience a sense of helplessness, uncertain of their impact. They need to know that they are MAKING A DIFFERENCE to each patient, one patient at a time. We, as patients, need to remember to thank them for all they do and reassure them that they are doing a tremendous job at keeping us all safe and healthy under very difficult times in unchartered territory. THANK YOU to ALL GBF STAFF, NURSES AND DOCTORS! We owe you all a debt of gratitude for all that you do and please know that you are making a difference. May you continue to provide the excellent care you have and surely will continue to provide to all of us in the future.

The 'concept' of the clinic is great. One big negative is that GFHT will NOT allow you to change Doctors once in the clinic.

Though GFHT policies may serve THEM well as a business, it is a not a good choice for patients. Business-over-care has never been a good model in my opinion. Patients should come first. I have valid concerns. In 20 some years with my previous Doctor I never had any issues.

Not everyone syncs.

A person should feel comfortable with their doctor! I don't, and with good reason. My doctor at the GFHT, Nathalie Moreau, has now done FOUR things in the past 6 years that put me in an uncomfortable situation, and I feel my well being is at risk. I don't feel like I'm getting good medical treatment/advice.

My options are limited under Ontario Government regulations. My preference ... stay at GFHT but a different doctor! The reality, because of clinic policy .... look for a new doctor, but I can't register with Health Care Connect til I break off our relationship. Breaking off the relationship will leave me without a Doctor.

It is better to have NO DOCTOR, than a BAD doctor ... so I broke off the relationship.

years ago I wrote a review saying I really enjoyed my experience here but I was disappointed in the way I was treated by the receptionist. I think its impossible to note that since then I have had nothing but very good experiences with every front staff I have dealt with. very caring and compassionate. thankful to be a patient of this clinic.

Very friendly, unbelievably fast! My whole family has been going there for several years and we can get an appointment on the day we call almost every time with either the nurse practitioner or our doctor. Communication is excellent as well. Love this clinic! I was at apple tree before and it's like going from Mcdonalds to a fine dining restaurant!

This is a great clinic! After reading some of the negative reviews, I felt I had to give mine because we have been with our family doctor at Greenbelt for more than five years and have NO complaints! We can always get an appointment same day with either our doctor or an RPN/urgent care - we never have to wait when we arrive and our doctor is caring, smart and knowledgeable and doesn't just whip out a prescription pad for every little thing. The clinic is clean, the reception staff do an okay job but most of all our entire family gets quality care from an excellent, caring doctor and team of nurses!

I like my doctor and haven't had any issues with scheduling, unlike many other people here. Though, I don't make too many appointments in a year to really have an opinion. I like the online portal that thy have to talk to your doctor and book appointments since I hate talking on the phone. Wait times to see your doctor are usually between 10 and 20 minutes after the scheduled start time, unless you go at a time where there's not a lot of people (tip: never go on fridays). I've seen a couple of doctors and nurses here and I do agree that some of them seem to be in a rush.

Family doctor always in rush and not caring at all.
Visited the doctor and told her about all my symptoms and instead of running some tests and blood work to find out more about the problems she asked if I need anti depression medicine.
Very disappointed.

The administration staff are horrible. They are rude and impatient especially on the phone. There is no consistency in the information they provide. There is an all around lack of communication (ie. Between doctors and admin staff, between admin staff and patients, etc.)
This incompetence almost seems to be a ploy to garner signatures on their petition (seeking support in preventing provincial budget cuts to health care) as service used to be much better prior to the signs going up around the office.

Returning a phone call from my doctor today, however didn t get very far because the rude receptionist was screaming in the phone with attitude. I kept talking in a calm voice to see if this would continue and it only got worse. I have never experienced someone so rude and aggressive. I ended up asking her why she is screaming at me and she then lowered her voice but it was to late, I hung up the phone. This women needs to be sat down and talked to because I m obviously not the only person that has a problem with rude receptionist at this doctors office, and I wouldn t be surprised if the complaints were from the same girl. Very disappointed.

i looked around a long time for a new doctor. i tried many places but when i got in here i stopped looking, i love it. the wait times can be long for an appt with your doctor but not always. very friendly, clean, knowledgable, and efficient staff all around.

I absolutely love the reception staff and everyone...

I absolutely love the reception staff and everyone else that works here. They always accommodate the best they can. The only issue is sometimes I need to wait on the phone for longer than I would like but that's what happens when you have a large amount of patients trying to book at the same time. Patience is key :)
In the case I can't get through I will use the portal to book or send a message! They are awesome and amazing <3

I have been a patient at this facility for several years now and have been pleasantly surprised by the service. The doctor assigned to me is more like a friend than any previous doctor I have had in the Ottawa region and unlike my wife's experience at Appletree I have never had to wait weeks for an appointment. The facility has nurse-practitioners who are available if you suffer an urgent situation and from my experience they are excellent. I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking a new doctor and while I cannot comment on all the doctors Dr. Matin and those who have back-filled for him on the rare occasion that he is unavailable have been exceptional.

The Doctors are great, staff is friendly. My issue is the fact that instead of having adequate winter carpets, they make you take your boots off in the winter but don't provide you with any slippers. So you walk over salt and dirty water to even get into the office. Disgusting. Now not only am I sick, but have wet feet. Wonderful.

While the care provided by physicians and other health care providers is quality and the integrated services are very helpful, the clinics policies and management practices make it a frustrating experience and stand in the way of being able to receive care. After being rescheduled multiple times it became apparent that my doctor's three day a week schedule did not match with ours, making it impossible for my daughter to be seen. The management will not discuss allowing her to be seen by another physician even though this means she cannot receive her recommended 'well baby' appointments. I understand policy to prevent endless patient transfers between doctors, but this is taking it to a ridiculous degree.

The family doctor I was assigned here is fantastic my problem comes from reception. I'm generally a very thoughtful kind person and have been treated poorly by reception on numerous occasions. Unimpressed.

The receptionists here are atrocious. Dr. Matin has been great with our kids but it does not make up for the rude attitude of the reception staff.

Another frustration is that they almost always change the appointment time within a week. Makes it very hard to schedule when you have multiple children.

Update July 2019:
My Doctor Lauder is still the best Doctor and I thank God for her everyday. She is going away on sabbatical for a year. I cried because she knows my case so well. She knows my body, my diseases and everything I go through daily. Another Doctor will be taking over for her and she has been briefed on me. I hugged her and I cried and said I will miss her dearly and she better be coming back. She gets it...she gets me!! I hope she has a beautiful time and I am already counting the day's till she comes back and she's not gone yet. She is a diamond.
My Doctor Lauder she is the frontline Doctor on my medical team and I thank God for her everyday. She does not leave any stone unturned where my health is concerned. I am treated with respect all the time and because I have many pressing health issues, I am treated with a sense of urgency. My family now sees my fabulous Doc. Thank you to the team Brea NP, everyone in the front, you understands my illnesses. Thank you for taking such good care of me and my family!!! I know I am in good hands.

Appointments made same day you call for most things, excluding anuals.

I've had a few issues getting information from my doctor over the phone, but the reception staff is usually very good. Not as personable as my old, now retired, family doctor, but those days are gone now.

I've been going here since high school I am now 26 and I love my doctor. She replies to me so fast on the portal and the receptionists are always so welcoming to me. If I need to be booked in and there's no availabilities they always find a way to book me in.

Dr. Karim is a rip off, I was her patient in her old clinic Vital Medical Center and I moved to Toronto, so my new doctor needs my file and she wants to charge me 100$ + tax for her to release the file. As if the government does not pay them enough to start charging such a fees. FYI I looked into other clinics and most of the good ones do not charge such a thing, and if they do charge it would be 30$ and NOT 100!! Shame on you doctors.

I suppose it depends on which doctor you are assigned to, but I have never had issues with our family doctor, Dr. Peters. Yes, her calendar can seem full, but anytime I have had an urgent need, the clinic has been able to see me the same day and I expect to get a different doctor.

Yes, the best plan is to go into the appointment with a suggestion, such as seeing a specialist, getting imaging, etc. so that if you feel the doctor isn't helpful, at least get them to send you somewhere.

I will say reception is hit or miss. Trying to get through on the phone can be a nightmare, so use the portal as much as possible. Sure, sometimes reception has forgotten to attach files to a message, but when I point it out I usually get a reply the same day.

I know how hard it is to find a family doctor in Ontario, but PLEASE avoid The Greenbelt Family Health Team at all costs!! It is impossible to get an appointment with your actual doctor and when you do, you often get rescheduled or end up seeing a Nurse Practitioner. In my case, I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Staples, then had my test results lost which resulted in having procedures done twice, and the lack of response/sympathy by the receptionists is uncomprehending. It takes them weeks to provide you with an update regarding test results and months to provide you with a referral to specialists. They honestly create a humiliating and horrendous environment for patients.

My experience with this clinic has not been the greatest. There seems to be a lack of communication between office staff and doctors. I have been waiting to see a gastroenterologist and was told by Greenbelt that they submitted the referral back in December. However, when I contacted the gastro clinic, they told me someone from my doctors office cancelled the request. So all this time I have been waiting patiently for an appointment when in fact there is no referral in queue. Why does the patient have to be the one to suffer because of the incompetence of others who are supposed to be professionals in their field. This is not the first time there has been a misap with the scheduling of an appointment for myself. Disappointing is an understatement. Their online communication tool is terrible. When you send them an email requesting a follow up all you get is a reply stating that my email was forwarded to my doctor then you don't hear back from them. Always left in limbo. Time to find another doctor.

It is almost impossible to see your own doctor at this place. Even when you make an appointment specifically with your own doctor, you will often find yourself with a stand-in at the last minute. Even worse, the stand-in will often say that this is something you should discuss with your own doctor, necessitating another appointment. The people who say that they seem to be gaming the system to make the most money are not wrong.

I'm really thankful to have this clinic in our community. I've always been able to get an appointment within a day or two. The nurses and support staff are top notch, and I can't say enough good things about the physicians.
