Outdated bungalows, but good service and beach. Not a place for a romantic getaway, but a good place for families.

Amazing place for a Greek beach vacation. Usually, we come back from vacation eagerly wanting to eat some healthy food, but at The Creta Palace the food was healthy and outstanding as was the service in nearly every aspect. The only exception was that the dinner was typically cleaned up 30 prior to closing time and the staff was not so pleasant about it, but it is a bit understandable considering the long hours that they keep.

Greek Hospitality at its best
We booked 8 days at the Grecotel Creta Palace as part of a holiday package from Germany. Everything went really smoothly regarding our transport and stay at the hotel. The hotel staff at the reception was really very friendly and helpful. Everyone at the hotel is respecting Covid19 protection measures, without any effect on the service quality. During our stay we had a feeling of safety which I believe came mostly from the Covid19 precaution measures by the hotel.
There are activities on a daily basis from early morning until late in the evening to keep both grown - ups and children entertained (yoga sessions, ping - pong tournaments, dart contests etc).
Nice pool at the center of the premises. The beach staff is doing a great job on customer service, not an easy accomplishment these days (wearing protection masks on the beach under 30 degree sun, while you could tell the smile beneath the mask...). Very nicely organized beach, the sea was most of the days fine (2-3 meters of pebble entering the sea, then sand you can walk without problems), some days there was a strong wind that raised waves which some may find entertaining.
The food menu is different every evening, you can find local products and specialties, the Cretan night was a blast . I would recommend local brands that you can find at the hotel (AGRECOFARMS), top quality.

Overall very pleasant experience. If you're looking for a five star hotel, Creta Palace is up to par. our only problem was with A/C not blowing warm air (we were there when it was rainy and cold for a few days) but I understand that 360 days of the year this is not a problem! Great place to visit with children (small or big). Our 1y/o enjoyed the stay (but watch out, our apartment had cold stone floors everywhere)

The hotel is good. Dear. But the beach is weird. I expected more sand and less pebbles, and then it s inconvenient to enter the sea. In the photo the beach is better than in reality.

The hotel is really very nice! I definitely recommend it. The staff here at the hotel are really very competent and very friendly. The facility is very beautiful, but for small children I personally think there is still a little thing missing on a slide or an aquatic animal. Why I can only give 4 stars is the room we stayed in. It was very noisy, we heard every word the neighbors said, which I found not so pleasant. Nevertheless, I would come back again and again, as there is something for every age group. Sitting relaxed on the terrace in the evening and listening to the live saxophone or being able to relax and drink cocktails or eat ice cream on the beach is very relaxing, enjoyable and suitable for everyone. The cellars in the restaurant are very friendly and excellent at their job. I know that so well because I come from this industry myself. We felt welcome here and received every request, no matter how small. The reception was excellent! They were not only friendly and competent but also helpful and accommodating. We noticed the following people particularly positively: Julie from the reception, Argyro guest / service, Girgo from the restaurant and Ridi from the restaurant and bar. Thank you again for the excellent service!

We have now stayed at Grecotel Creta Palace 20 times and can be noted that this is a fantastic hotel. We travel a lot and have seen "most things", when we return to this hotel. They have everything; friendly and service oriented staff, great restaurants, very good gym, spa, beautiful surroundings. We can really highly recommend a stay here.

Excellent hotel, top class service, clean and new rooms, buffet style dining room with plenty of fresh and tasty food!
At night there is always organized activity of the hotel, a taxi to the city center costs 7 euros in the direction.

Right on the seashore

Great location on a private beach. Top service. Great food, especially breakfast with lots to choose from. Beds also very comfortable. Drinks and foods from a la carte is very expensive. You can buy drinks from the mini market at the hotel which is cheaper. Nearest supermarket is at least 15 minutes walking distance so not you normally do on a hot day! Taxi to Rethymnon is 8 Euro, which is ok price. The only negative is the entrance to the sea. Lots of small pebbles so having shoes is a must because easy to fall down. Also there are many small childrens so it can at times be noisy at dinner. But over all its a top hotel with everything you need and more.

Luxury in high class. Everything is gathered in one place, the staff are generally accommodating. Excellent breakfast buffet and corresponding evening buffet for the price. The rooms are clean and neat, but just lack the extra level compared to other five star hotels I have visited. The new manager seems promising. He is very visible and acts as a good pioneer for the other staff. Thanks for a great stay.

Super hotel, delicious food, with a lot of choice and different meals every day. The most important thing here is customer friendliness! Always worth a visit.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff couldn't be friendlier. Despite the wheelchair, I even got straight to the beach and into the water, as there are wooden walkways everywhere.

The food was a dream. The service was impeccable. And the free photoshoting gave us incomparable memories at a great price for the photos.

Every evening wonderful live music that we heard from our terrace.

My conclusion: we will be back.

Really nice Hotel! We stayed for a week in a Bungalow with Seaview and everything was great. 5star Resort.

We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a relaxing and special holiday. The staff and service was exceptional, we were welcomed on arrival and shown personally to our room which was superb. The food was excellent and the beach access was great. The hotel has its own private beach area and pool bar and sun loungers and towels were in abundance. We would like to say thank you to the manager and staff for making our holiday so special!

What you would expect from a five star hotel. It's a shame they use nespresso in their espresso based coffee drinks.

The Grecotel is a beautiful hotel. The food and the staff get 5 stars from me. The food was always freshly prepared. However, the hotel is not central, so there is a star deduction. I can recommend the hotel.

If you need relaxation, you've come to the right place, despite the difficult Corona situation in the world, everything works here.
Hygiene is ensured everywhere, hygiene kits in every room and for every hotel guest. In addition, disinfectant dispensers are set up everywhere. There is no mask requirement in the entire hotel complex, which is very pleasant. Distance lines are set up at the nodes. At check-in, a fever is measured once by infrared. The staff cleans all contact surfaces, tables, chairs even the loungers on the beach after each guest.

The buffet is always clean and tidy. The staff serves the hotel guests at the buffet and so the buffet always looks great. No food on the floor.
The taste is great, as you are used to from the Greeks.

We are very satisfied.

Nice place. Good for family people and couples. The sea can be rough. You should use special shoes as the beach is not sandy. Staff is polite. Food is good.

Wonderful hotel with many amenities for the grown-ups and for the little ones, the rooms comfortable and clean, excellent buffet. Anyone who has the money is worth visiting.

Room equipment average. Reheated dinner, small choice of meals. I will not write about the bar - hopeless. And of course, all that is bad is covid's fault. Ok thank the hotel for the reply. DRINK or Mohito served without lime, mint only from the extract is a sweet, nasty juice. . The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean. A bit far from the city for a walk, but we manage. Average beach, lots of stones. But the hotel located directly on the beach is important to us. The downside is information, i.e. the lack of it, the downside is the food, vanity of animation. The room itself does not impress either. Besides, the observation deck is closed because covid, the gym is closed because it is covid, the playground is also closed. And after the trip it's nice to receive a snack, for example from water. But maybe I demand too much?

We felt very good in this hotel. All employees were very friendly and helpful.

We went on the last day of our holiday as we had to leave the villa at 10am and our flight wasn't until 8pm. I booked an Aromatherpy massage and it was wonderful, it was probably one of the best massages I've ever had! Unfortunately, it was let down by the general run down atmosphere of the spa. I highly recommend the massages, I just wouldn't stay for the day.

We were from 21.9 to 2.10 in Grecotel. An unexpected problem was solved by Mr. Antonio Stathakis to our full satisfaction. We felt very comfortable in this hotel, the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. You can only recommend this hotel. The 5 stars are completely justified.

Amazing hotel, even during Covid times. Great rooms, beautiful pool area with all day service and direct connection to the beach with a nice beach bar, also connected to the hotel.

Dream location and very well located to the city of Rethymnon (less than 10 minutes by car, 15 minutes by bus and 1 hour on foot) great hotel from A-Z!

It was a dream vacation with 2 kids, 6 months and 18 months old. Very, very good food, constantly changing and of course there are also a few standards that make up a very small part. Our room (family bungalow) with a terrace was clean and very well maintained. The staff are also very hospitable and courteous. We can warmly recommend the hotel and will be back in 2021. P.s. the beach is also a sandy beach for the usual conditions there.

Corona rules or Corona special features:
- There are disinfectants everywhere, every room has disinfectants and mouth and nose masks for each guest for free, hygiene kit etc.
- Guests can wear masks voluntarily (no obligation for guests), the wearing of masks is mandatory for employees, the employees wear transparent masks,
- the classic breakfast and dinner buffets have been converted into non-self-service buffets, each guest receives plates and the respective dish from the staff, the classic buffets are set up, the dishes are placed on the plate by employees,
- In principle, the restaurants have been relocated outside, the dishes are served or eaten outdoors,
- Arrows on the floor show how and where you can walk and stand, a distance of 2 meters applies, according to the seating on the beach, restaurants etc.
- on the beach you have fixed loungers,
- you can decide for yourself how often the hotel room is cleaned,
- public areas are disinfected after each guest,
- a fever is measured at check-in,
- Toilets are cleaned very frequently, please note the number of people limited,

Great hotel on Creta, less busy during Corona times. Service exemplary nice and dedicated. Great vacation despite all the restrictions. Air in early October 28-30 C water 25C today windy with gusts.

Super nice staff, some maintenance in the bathroom. Relatively small apartment for four people. No lifts. Delicious breakfast.

Nice Hotel but the standard rooms are not at a 5 star level (very old furniture).
Great for kids with many activities.
Minus:
Too many russians and ukrainians. They are very unpolite, arrogant and rude. If you leave your sunbed for swimming they just take your towels and throw it on the beach and occupy your bed.
Also on the nice breakfast buffet they act like they are the only ones there.

The Grecotel Creta Palace is a nice hotel. The staff is friendly, the food is good to very good. Great pool area, beautiful and well-kept garden and soft sandy beach. The rooms are in need of a bit of renovation, but still very nice. We enjoyed the week there. It's great that you can get to Rethymnon in no time. A beautiful place.

A pleasant place, a lot of staff
The only downside if you sleep on the same floor as the reception rooms from 600 to 627, it is a highway of noise and children who scream and very wide corridor to park the strollers
We are inside the room we can hear the people in the hallway and the neighbors as well
And yet I slept a superior room of what?
Everything else and perfect, it's a shame for a 5 star hotel not to have thought of the sound system

We loved the hotel and the beach. Food was outstanding in quality and variety. The staff always helpful and kind, they went out of their way to ensure customers' satisfaction. Definitely a 5 star!

Very nice hotel with very good service. The staff is very nice and attentive. Our room was very clean. When I go to a 5 star hotel I don't expect anyone to be allowed to have dinner with flip-flops. In the 4 star Hotel S, the guest is addressed.

Truly 5 star service. Staff made you feel like you were the only one there. Property was beautiful, even if the weather didn't cooperate. Rooms were clean, bed was super comfortable.

Great holiday for children! , very good-natured and helpful staff !!! BUT!!! 1) The hotel is old, the hotel room capacity is 3-ku, WC-3-ka, territory-4, food-4, pool-4. In a word, far from 5 *, really 4 *. Need to know what to pay for !!!

I will not be objective to the hotel and its people because I just feel like a family after so many years. There are hotels of the same chain with modern facilities, with better beaches and maybe more amenities ... but really ... such warm people guarantee you will not meet anywhere else in the world !!!!

Generally OK, but rip-off pricing of food and drinks.

Absolutely love it here, here in May 2019 (just leaving now ), returning after four years. They had refurbished a number of rooms and public areas and the place is much more up together than it was on our previous trip. I think the food is marginally better at their sister hotel (the White Palace, stayed there last year), but it's still of a high standard here at the Creta. Disappointingly, only two of the restaurants were open this trip, and the Sky bar wasn't open yet either, which kind of limited the public areas we could enjoy. Why do I love it? Without hesitation, the people! It is a much more personal experience here at the Creta, and the level of service is fantastic. They take such good care of you, always efficient, and always with a smile and a warm welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for the team here. Worthy of special mention is Penelope, best cocktails and most beautiful smile. Giorgio at the beach bar is just lovely, really quick and super friendly, Nadia, Nikos, Eugene, Katerina... all wonderful! If you want to holiday somewhere where everyone knows your name and makes you feel special and thoroughly welcome, the Creta Palace is for you. We will definitely be back!
