Not just a hotel, there are also free-standing apartments with private pools.
The restaurant is very good, there is a choice even for children, beware of the pounds;)
The beach is beautiful, calm, for the little ones.
No problem with noise despite a majority Russian presence.
I've enjoyed my stay

Basically, my partner (30) and myself (27) liked it a lot, but there were also points that rather disappointed us. The food from the buffet was varied, varied and delicious. The ambiance itself was really great, but it was often very crowded and therefore very loud. When we were there, there were also many couples with toddlers, so there was always childrens crying. If you are a German tourist there, you will quickly feel uncomfortable, because the hotel is mostly occupied by Russians. We really liked the direct connection to the beach and that here umbrella, beach chairs and beach towels were included and this was also guarded by lifeguards. Our first room was okay from the facilities, however, there were on our floor locked wooden doors, which you could hear what the neighbor drives. Overall, it was quite noisy in the hotel, luggage rolls, door bangs or loud laughter in the hallways were not to be missed. Since we complained about noise, we got a new room in the same category, which looked much better and was without a doorway. We really liked the daily entertainment program in the form of instrumental live music and singing. What we also a bit sour, were the salted drink prices (eg water 0,75l about 5,80 in the restaurant). Of course, this also applies to the food prices in the hotel restaurants. Basically we would visit the hotel again, as the ambience, friendliness of the staff and cleanliness convinced us. If you are looking for peace or would like to make a savings holiday, I would advise against this hotel.

The cleaning of the rooms is utterly awesome ((((I asked to change the bungalow for us because it smelled of damp and dead flies and carres lay on the floor near one of the toilets was a puddle) Of course I changed the room, but the cleaning was still lame because of this I put 4 stars, although I wanted to put 3, but otherwise they were on top and in other hotels everything was well decided to put 4

Amazing service. The people are genuinely welcoming, personable and very gracious. The hotel operation runs so smoothly even though the hotel is quite large with a ton of amenities.
We spent three nights and we couldn t have been happier.
The SPA was an additional happy accent with experienced massage therapists.
The in house chiropractor named Michalis, aligned my spine and saved me from back pain. I have been feeling amazing after his treatment.

As always, it's about the world's money. We have remained loyal to the Grecotel hotel chain over 10 times, and are a member of the Privilege Club (not important, it turned out that way) 11 times to the Creta Palace

Corona times are changing this world and society, but no matter where in this world it is primarily about money. Corona also overtakes the Grecotels. Some of their hotels like White
Palace and Marine Palace etc are all too in Crete, and Creta Palace is
not quite full. Due to Corona, the hygiene regulations are very well implemented. But what you expect in terms of the usual services and also get in normal times is actually a ... Especially because everything is so limited and other hotels in the group are closed, you should expect that the guest here will do their best Benefits. Far from it, under the guise of "Corona", austerity measures are being taken at the expense of the traveler despite the same price that was paid. The Sky Bar, a highlight of the hotel and a big criterion why we booked this hotel, was closed, again for the financially strong, it was opened for dinner. The cleaning of the rooms was only done every 2 days?
The hotel praises itself for environmental protection, and at the same time beach towels are provided in plastic bags, which has nothing to do with Corona, because at the pool and beach dispensing stations these are given out without a plastic bag. Important?? Food distribution by the staff works very well, but the meager distribution and selection of the dishes indicate very savings measures. You had to ask for a "surcharge" every time, which was also fulfilled but very much suggests ....... All inclusive has been a huge waste in the past, the concept is definitely better, but reduced too far to ..... and quality. Especially here you could collect "points" for the future, for your possibly returning guests. It has nothing to do with Corona if a typical Greek evening with a wood grill is missing, on which the meat and the dishes convey a typical Greek meal, instead of it, savings chips and gyros from the pan, which every restaurant Greek in Germany makes better and more. served. What about show cokking? Other hotels are much better positioned in terms of food. Again at the expense of the Greece vacation that you should arrange to make the vacation in these times an unforgettable one. Staff just great, mostly Greek, very accommodating. What can you say, Crecotel Creta Palace very good, can only be recommended, but the performance in Corona times is not okay, we are going back, but first we will observe the whole thing for ourselves. The management should change something here for the time in and after Corona. What is written here is true and should be a positive criticism.
Better late than never.

Nice holiday with very very nice and courteous staff.
Unfortunately, the bathroom was not up to date. Odors of sewage were clearly to smell.
Otherwise nice room (but unfortunately no double bed but two beds which are constantly slipped apart!)
The rooms were very noisy! Thus one could clearly hear the children's scream in the next bungalow. Even quiet walking did not make any sense you could hear the steps over one more than clearly.

Buffet was a dream whether for breakfast or dinner there was nothing to be desired!
The beach and the towels were all inclusive!

But for the price rather a 4 star hotel than a 5 star hotel!

The hotel area is well maintained. Our room was big and clean with a nice balcony facing the sea. The beach was clean but for older people bathing in the sea was not possible, because right at the beginning of the water only coarse gravel was. A safe bathing was not possible. A small jetty would have been very helpful.
The food was pretty good, especially the fruit and the salads and desserts. But the drink prices were exorbitantly high. Of the eight restaurants mentioned, only one was available for half-board guests. Covered pool chairs cost 32 euros per day, on the beach but even 105.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
For 1.10 euros you can take the bus to the city of Rethymno. Over the beach you can visit a nearby tavern, which is very good quality. The hotel is extremely kid friendly with appropriate consequences.
At half past nine there was no free beach chairs at the almost deserted pool. The result was that we were very often in our bungalow with sea view away from the hustle and bustle.
Repairs were carried out immediately. The cleaning Lady Katharina has lovingly taken care of our room.
The hotel's mini market was good. From the entrance of the hotel complex to the left you reach after about 300 meters a well equipped supermarket.
Guests in the hotel spoke a lot of Russian, German and English.
The latter is generally understood well everywhere.
Now that we have a stay at a 4-star hotel in Spain that cost less than half of the price paid at Grecotel, but was even better, our memories have become very negative.
It remains with us the impression that one has been ripped off in Grecotel. Too bad, so never again Grecotel.

Hotel good for the holidays.

Hotel good for the holidays.
Even if the sand is not smooth, the frame is still good.

The only damage is the food choice in the hotel and the lack of communication from reception.

The suites are good but still an improvement should be considered.

Despite my comment, one week remains to be done in the hotel

Lovely Crete hotel / resort. Two pools, nice "village" layout, easy access to the beach and Rethymno town. Loses a star because the buffet dinners are very overpriced - 39/adult. But there are alternative options in walking and taxi distance.

Even though we arrived after a storm and the water in the sea was not the cleanest for the first few days, the hotel still deserves 5 stars. The service at the hotel is absolute top notch. I've never had the pleasure of experiencing service at such a high level.

Vacation from the first to the last minute! The service is second to none. Almost every wish is read from your eyes. The well-known problem of other hotels with reserved loungers is also solved here.
I cannot understand the bad experiences you read here at all. Anyone who complains here can never be satisfied. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels, but this one is the best!
Thank you for the great holiday <3

60 minutes by bus from Heraklion. Stairs everywhere (annoying with stroller), kids pool a bit worn down and too cold. Beautiful beach. Overpriced: 5 for a coffee (nespresso), 3,90 for a bottle of still water, 27 for an okayish all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, 8 for a glass of house wine. Tiny glasses for breakfast buffet. Rather loud evening live concerts (20:30-22:30) made it challenging to put kid to bed.

The area and the rooms are well maintained and clean. The food in the restaurant was above average good! Even the offered meat and fish were juicy, very flavorful and fresh! I have never eaten so well in a buffet restaurant!
The prices for drinks or the a la carte restaurants are absolutely overpriced and totally inappropriate! A glass of wine for 8,00 you probably rarely paid! Despite booked half board you have to raise even for a large bottle of water at table 3.80. Therefore a star deduction!
In the vicinity (within walking distance) there is unfortunately no bar. Only a tavern that offers beer and wine. If you want to enjoy cheaper cocktails, you must drive to Rethymnon.

A great hotel, without all-inclusive, also not very popular in this not glorious part of the Polish and Russian society, which is characterized by a high appetite for alcohol. Despite many facilities for children, in May it was quite quiet and peaceful, without madness. The restaurant room service is a bit overexcitious at times, but at other times it does not see us, but everything is within the normal range, it is also ok. Bathroom trash can emptied frequently enough (check before going to Greece why it's so important!).

Everything you need in a 5 star hotel is, although I do not recommend spring bungalows with garden view. In summer, in my opinion, it does not matter anymore. Fantastic babysitter service - Crissy - which I greet with all my heart - solved all our needs quickly and effectively, the greater the thanks.

Food very tasty, plentiful, diverse. Cool!

Swimming pools - children's, in front of the outdoor and indoor lobby paddling in the spa area. There is no madness. For this beach with a bar and waiter service on a sizeable plus.

The hotel has a small shopping arcade and post office, and in the evening a diverse animation.

I recommend always to check if your room is already renovated - it really makes a difference! :)

arrived at this hotel from vienna in june 2017. the first impression was very good: drink on the terrace, after 15 minutes there was already a room.
The room was clean, but nothing special, the furnishings were very weak, the balcony door (ground floor) could not always be blocked. We were referred to the room safe for valuables.

The evening buffet is not very varied, but it is quite good. As I said, there are much better hotels that are around half the price.

the hotel's own prices are VERY expensive, a not particularly successful cocktail costs 20 euros in the bar on the roof!

DAY 2
Breakfast - OK. You expect more from a 5-star hotel.
Except for the very friendly staff and the cleanliness, the hotel has nothing special to offer. The facility is made for guests who want to DO NOTHING all day, just lie down and pay for every little thing.
Strowbery-Drakiry costs 13 euros on the beach. In terms of taste, we found the cocktail unsuccessful. After breakfast around 10:00 there are no longer any free loungers (although there is still enough space on the beach to set up), but a pavilion is offered for 68 EUR / day. For this and for the unreasonable prices, I take my rating back from 3 to 2 Google stars.
Apart from childcare, ABSOLUTELY NO activities are offered here. For travelers who want to experience something, it is a wrong destination.
Room is very clean but the equipment on a good 3-star level, not more ....

Day-3
At the pool there was DJ music in the evening. The mood was very good, cocktails convinced us and the prices were in the normal range (10-13 EUR), so much cheaper than in the bar on the roof on the first day. So after that evening my rating rises from 2 to 3 points.

hotel is dominated by russian guests, mostly with children.

We just came back from this resort. I would say that it s not worth the money that we had to spend there. We would never go back there again. For $800 per night they gave us an ugly room with poor ventilation. My children s beds were small and ugly. The food was very expensive. Only breakfast was included. We were charged for everything else including water. It s about 1.5 hours from the airport as well. The lobby of the hotel looks beautiful and that was it, the rest of it is nothing special. It s very hot on the beach as well.

We were rebooked by TUI and did not know this hotel. But I have to say that it was a great vacation and we'd love to come back. The implementation of the hygiene measures in times of Corona was great, it is impressive that you can vacation in Greece so carefree. Particularly noteworthy are the girls who served us. Just perfect.
Food, drinks and service mega

A very nice hotel complex, which is a bit remote, so that you can switch off very well.
The hotel has a large private beach (direct beach location).
The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The gastronomy is very varied and tasty.

Excellent hotel. Good food. Nice beach. Children's animation. Adult animation. Free sun loungers. Towel without deposit. Delicious variety of dinners. Children's water slide. Welcome bottle of wine. Daily bottle of water. Parking is free. Nice friendly staff. Beautiful beach. Volleyball. Beautiful well-groomed area.
Minuses:
1. The hotel is a bit old
2. The doors in the room are not soundproofed. At 8 am, noise from slamming doors and walking.
3. Alcoholic cocktails are not tasty, it is better not to take them.
4. The entrance to the sea is stones, the sea is not always transparent
5. The advertised Golden Dragon restaurant with rolls and sushi - I highly do not recommend it, the rolls are not tasty and do not look like rolls.
But overall, the hotel and the rest are 5 points!

80/90s feel and room decor to match. General staff very friendly, beach and breakfast the highlights of our 5 night stay. Stay away if you are single, young or old couple as this is baby and toddler hotel. Expect tantrums, screaming pool sessions and messy breakfast atmosphere. For young families however this should be a good option albeit the ageing room decor and high price make it a poor choice. At 450 Euro per night you would expect something special from a Grecotel.

But in my opinion good 4 stars not worthy of 5 stars!

Resting with children in a bungalow with sea views. The room is already tired with poor acoustics. The cleaning is weak. I liked the breakfasts, the staff is friendly. The restaurants are tasty but expensive. It s easier to take a taxi and take a walk to Rethymnon. The beach is normal, but uncomfortable at sea.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Outstanding Hospitality: As we arrived late at night on our first day and it was our first cold in a Grecotel, the hotel offered to spend the night in another pure luxury 5 star Grecotel ( Grecotel Caramel). The next day after breakfast we returned to the Creta Palace. Next surprise, we were upgraded to a suite on the top floor. When we left, we were able to keep the room until 3pm! The beautiful town of Rethymnon is 10 minutes from the hotel. Huge sandy beach connected to the hotel, sun loungers included.
Only negative points: at peak hours the restaurant looks more like a school canteen and the swimming pool more like a municipal pool, the hotel has more than 350 rooms and is extremely popular with families with small children. Decent food, a bit monotonous buffet.

We had a very bad experience at Creta Hotel during our honey moon, we had no special treatment from Creta Palace even though they knew we were on our honey moon (vs the other 3 hotels that treated us in a wonderful way), plus we found that the hotel is too loud and packed with families and kids (its impossible to have a romantic breakfast without paying BIG fees for something private) when we shared this feedback with the staff they simply replied "you are not at the right place, we are a family hotel". So skip this place if you are looking for a romantic stay as a couple

Great clean hotel with friendly, service-minded and welcoming staff. Good opportunities to go to the beach as well as relax at the pool. Good buffet for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some rooms are definitely better than others (newer and renovated), and the prices of snacks and food are quite high.
