Unfortunately only pebble beach, food not very good, were not thrilled.

First of all, we want to thank all of the staff at this hotel! We have just come back from a wonderful vacation in our everyday life and would like to go back to Crete and to the Creta Palace. We can highly recommend this hotel. Everything worked out wonderfully on site and we felt absolutely safe.
Our room (a junior suite on the 4th floor of the main building) was equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
As for the furnishings, it's a matter of taste and you can argue about taste. One doesn't like it the other. We liked it. It was cleaned automatically every two days, we could have ordered it more often, but we didn't need it. The carpets in the hallways should be replaced as they were unfortunately very badly damaged by water damage.
The food was a 1mit * for us. It was cooked with spices and the fact that we were in Greece we tasted at the buffet. There was nothing that wasn't there and everything was just very tasty. One evening we also went to the Barbarossa specialty restaurant. There is only one rating for this -> incredibly good!
What actually made our vacation a special one were the staff. We have already stayed in many very good package hotels. What is added to all the good points in the Creta Palace is that this hotel and its employees have a soul. Despite the end of the season, despite a full hotel, despite the Corona year, despite the worst storms that ever existed in Crete, there was not a person who was not friendly, mega-service-oriented and warmly approached us !!! Thanks a lot for this!!!! That was exactly what we needed after the last few months :-)

This hotel is not the swankiest hotel on the island, but the staff are the best ever!! If you want to be treated like a mix of royalty and family, this is perfect, nothing is too much trouble. It has all the amenities you could want, and amazing views. I come here for a week each year, just get pampered!

Been there a few times - we always loved it. We will have to take a break this year. The currently published cheap offer for a stay in this hotel is dubious: no airline will fly to Crete any time soon !! What's the use of a bargain?

Great hotel with excellent staff. Nice and cosy area. Very close to the beach but a lot of big waves all the time. If you like swim in the ocean you better choose another hotel. The poolarea is nice. The breakfast is excellent and big but the dinner was not a five star, especially the fish was a big dissapointment. One more thing is that the dinner close way to early, already 9 o clock.

If you buy beer, wine, icecream, water etc its very expensive. The sky bar is worth a visit, its the most beautiful bar i have ever seen. The gym is ok, what you can expect in a hotel. They also have entertainment during the evenings and that was quite good.

Food is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms and corridors are unfortunately not so nice. In the bungalows you can hardly sleep because grasshoppers make noise. On the beach are many sharp stones which when you go into the water that hurts.

10 stars for the always so happy and helpful staff throughout the hotel.

I was there last week! The hygiene measures in the hotel were more than exemplary. Perfect service with really nothing to complain about. Excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great beach with all the amenities you could want. Very clear 5 stars from me.

A very nice 5 star hotel that offers you everything and anything you need. We stayed at one of the garden bungalows. Would not call the room or the amenities anything superbly special, but still enjoyable. Main building, pool area, beach and all the restaurants were terrific. Service overall was AMAZING.

Very well run hotel with a great staff and very tasteful furnishings. We haven't regretted going on vacation here despite Corona. Hygiene standards were adhered to the whole time, own loungers and disinfectants everywhere. I would also like to mention that we were more than satisfied with the food: everything was very tasty and fresh. For us, this vacation at Creta Palace has been the most relaxing for a long time and we thank you very much for that.

There is a wonderful kids club for children, a small pool with slides, a climbing wall, an animation program for every taste, the food in the restaurant is excellent, only the beach did not upset much, I expected a sand

Pebbles and more pebbles! No fine sand! Very noisy hotel poorly soundproofed, children run everywhere! Atmosphere summer camp, small room, a dirty shower curtain in the bathroom, we are in a 5 * which is not worth 2! Extremely disappointed!

Grecotel is a very nice hotel, but this is not for smaller children (1 year)! They have a "baby pool" where the water is so high that no baby can stand there and the water is so cold that babies tremble there, so to sum it up: super nice but not for babies

Great service and beautiful renovated rooms. However, very noisy and the not renovated rooms look quite old.

Fabulous structure, impeccable customer service, almost 24-hour cuisine with a wide choice is always very varied, large rooms with every comfort, nothing negative. Private beach of the hotel, beautiful and functional facilities, excellent sea.

The hotel can only be recommended. Country and people are great. Come again.

I've spent there a great week of my holidays! Resort is really well maintained and constantly renovated. Numerous attractions, themed evenings. The entire service of the hotel is top notch and always helpful for what I am grateful whole team, especially Chrisa :). Delicious, diverse food, especially local, all fresh. After a week, I was upset to leave such a wonderful place and I cant wait to return there next year.

A very nice one from the Grecotels chain. Despite the current Corona situation, everything is done to make the guest feel comfortable. The house belongs to the category of luxury houses, which I can only recommend to everyone.

We had a wonderful vacation and a dream wedding with you. We are still overwhelmed.

Subjectively, we can give 5 stars here, because the beach was wonderfully empty, the staff treated us more than well and the food (Corona-probably equipped a bit clearer) was really delicious.
Most of the employees are very concerned about the satisfaction of their guests.

In addition, we were moved from one in need of renovation to another, more beautiful bungalow with a great view - thanks again to the hotel management!

In summary: during the Corona period, things went understandably wrong (it can also happen that the table is given to you when you eat your meal), but the hotel management in particular gave us a wonderful holiday. Hence the very subjective 5 stars

Extensive older but very well-kept area with direct beach location.
- attentive service, very courteous staff. When we arrived at 11 p.m., drinks were offered at the reception, refreshing towels and a small snack in the room. A reception like after a trip around the world. You feel you are in good hands and well looked after.
In addition, sufficient staff everywhere with a smile on their face.

WiFi and service (waiter) right up to the beach chairs. WiFi with good speed. LTE network also well developed

Drink prices outrageous. Cola z. B. 250ml for 4.20. For this they could offer at least 330ml or even 500ml. Then a full-grown person has a normal serving. A bottle of water 750 ml for 5.80. I am happy to pay an extra charge for the service. But that is usury.

In the hotel area there is a mini market with normal prices for drinks. Bottle of water 1 lite 90cent. Except sun milk: here prices between 20 and 30 euros ...

Unobtrusive entertainment, children's disco away from the main building.
Children's pool also located off the beaten track, two slides. Life guard / lifeguard at all pools and on the beach.

Water quality in the pool sensory / subjectively good. Little chlorine. Probably because mixed with sea water.
Beach chairs at the pool were pretty tight. In addition, the loungers are often reserved. Old known problem.

Guests
In the first half of our vacation 80-90% Russians, the rest German, Dutch, French, English and Greek. Then at the end of August suddenly increasingly Germans.
Almost only families with children ...
Was 10 years ago in Turkey and had very bad experiences in a hotel complex with mostly Russians. Fortunately not so extreme here. Children with bags of chips and ice cream in their hands playing at the poolside ...

Dinner:
Long trousers for men are compulsory in the evening. 5% still wear shorts and get something to eat.
Excellent service again, courteous staff.
There was plenty and plenty to eat. There was a lack of variety, especially in the starters and salads.
Difficult to say, but overall I wasn't as thrilled as when I was last in a 4 * Iberostar on Fuerteventura. Here the food was just a class higher. But that's grumbling at a very high level.
The 'Greek Corner' with typical local specialties, on the other hand, was top - but rather manageable.

Beach:
According to the board on the beach, it is an award-winning beach. Positive: wide, fine sandy beach, lots of loungers, wooden walkways on the sand, WiFi to the sea, waiter service.
Cons: plenty of pebbles in the surf zone, then quickly sloping. Rather unsuitable for small children and non-swimmers. Our water was always cloudy. Not dirty, but due to the sand, suspended matter and other things (I don't know what) visibility under water under half a meter.
Beach with sea is okay, but the one who gave this beach a prize was probably full of ouzo. Or has never seen another beach.

Room:
Had a double room at the very back in the corner of the area. No reason to complain, air conditioning, balcony, German TV, USB sockets in the wall. Nicely decorated. Everything worked.

Overall a very nice facility.
But overall no reason to come back

Not a bad place, especially for holidays with children. Comforted that there is a children's kitchen, children from the main breakfast and until dinner can have an extra snack. Accommodation in a bungalow with an opportunity to immediately go out into the garden is convenient. I note the careful cleaning of the rooms. To enter the sea it is desirable to have appropriate shoes, but it can also be purchased in the territory. There are a number of shops with various useful little things and souvenirs. The kitchen is not bad. Wishes - to provide guests upon arrival with more information about the hotel rules in order to avoid misunderstandings.

An interesting hotel, a lot of animation, you can quickly find a company, in the summer there are many Russians.

Here I was spoiled for 13 days! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive! Is in all respects recommendable!

Good food, excellent service and a nice location. The hotel has everything you dreamed for.

The hotel is generally good, but there are two big drawbacks:
1) uncomfortable, especially for children, entering the water on the beach (stones, and a sharp descent)
2) rooms for five stars do not pull, especially the bathroom.
On the plus side: the food is very tasty, and the staff is extremely kind and attentive.

We didn t stay here as guests but as it s a sister hotel to the one we were staying at we could use the hotel for our dinner. The food was excellent and there was lots of it! And the staff were generally helpful and attentive. There was also evening entertainment and beautiful views down by the beach which is only a stones throw away.

But.....

The dress code for men was smart which included having to wear trousers. Being a Brit I only took smart shorts and shirts for evening occasions (which is normally no problem, being a hot country and all). Even though I looked smart (actually smarter than a lot of the men in trousers) I was told I NEED to wear trousers. After a lot of waiting around, they turned up with trousers for me that they had found in the hotel... they looked like waiters trouser and they had to be cut at the bottom to fit so ultimately I ended up going to dinner looking very scruffy. The whole thing was was a bit of a palaver and for the rest of the holiday I had to wear these ugly trousers as trying to find smart trousers in a tourist area was a no go.

I just hope they ve changed the dress code, other than that it is a lovely hotel.

Service and hospitality 11 out of 10 really very good! Food nice and well varied! 1 small comment animation could show better shows little for this price! And drink quite expensive! For the rest topper!

For hotel, the beach is rocky, but it is clean and warm. The pool is excellent. Breakfast is very good. 4 stars instead of five only because if the Rocky and very quickly deep beach.

A great hotel that leaves nothing to be desired ... The best relaxing vacation I've ever had! Very good food, great service, very nice rooms, 2 minutes to the sea with the hotel's own beach - a dream!

We got home again and already miss everything and would like to go back immediately. The fond memories of the vacation in this great hotel will stay with us for a long time.
We felt very comfortable. The location is unique. The hotel beach is very well-kept and gently sloping. The hygiene measures are carried out wonderfully undisturbed. We are enthusiastic about the whole atmosphere, always friendly and the well-being of the guests. Always friendly faces and varied food every day. These contributed a lot to the recovery.
The staff is unique and cater to any kind of request.
We would recommend this great hotel to anyone looking for a memorable vacation.

5 star hotel, rooms very clean, food very good, staff very friendly and helpful, resort has shady places under trees, own beach with beach bar, the beach a bit gritty, a small part beautiful sandy, pool chairs are hardly covered with towels from guests, holiday from the end of July to the beginning of August, you can eat outside and inside, in the dining room has unfortunately no air conditioning worked and was therefore humid, shops for shopping there are just 4 km away in Rethymno - best with taxi are punctual and cheap, a way to Rethymno costs 8 euros.

What can you say, just a great hotel. The food is great! We liked the Asian restaurant best. But the fish filleted at the table in the fish restaurant doesn't have to hide either. The breakfast buffet is great.

Some of the rooms could be renovated and the fitness area is only worth three stars for me, as there are too few devices, some of which are also defective.

The staff is very friendly and always courteous.

For me there is nothing really wrong with it.

In October 2017 we will fly again for the first time to the Grecotel Creta Palace Rethymnon with our 2 year old daughter. My wife and I were already there on our honeymoon September2014. We were so thrilled with the great hotel, the super nice service, the variety of entertainment to the small port city you reached by bus and the ticket costs only 1 . Even though this time we paid more for 11 days of vacation than we paid in 2014 for 13 days, we had realized it must be the Grecotel Creta Palace again. Everything we experienced was just great. The staff was always very social and makes every effort to fulfill. The very large buffet with the delicious food, the daily clean rooms, the beautiful beach area eonfach everything delighted us. We are especially looking forward to the kitchen staff Pavlo. This human is simply a pure soul.

Beautiful, comfortable, funny, fantastic, PERFECT! The food was great, the room was big and pretty, the gardens are wonderful and the swimming pools are fantastic. Also the beach is great. I WANT TO RETURN THERE!

We had a very nice week. The service and the friendliness of the staff are excellent. Really remarkable! The first time in such a big hotel we found the pool scenery and resto opportunities a little too crowded ... Rooftop bar very cool. Too bad that in the evening many guests with short shorts to table. Here a dress code should be proposed. Beach and beach bar are very nice! The sea is beautiful. If you do not like stones you have to organize shoes. We had 2 rooms. In the main building (for us too urban) but very nice, a lot of space .... in a bungalow directly near the water, geschmachvoll, made. The shower, bright and clean. All in all ... who just like I do not want to do anything with my daughter for one week ... enjoy the beach and in the evening stroll in the town or at the rooftop bar drinks and dinner would like to enjoy a very good recommendation !!!

Very luxury hotel about 4km from the centre of Rethymno city !!!!

Quite ok, but paying over 3000 euros doesn't have to be. I had a small wall next to my bed and it was rather hard . But I still have to say the staff is very friendly and helpful . The food is mega and our view is great Genial . Everything is actually very clean. You should just get used to the fact that the pools are filled with salt water.

Everything was excellent and staff very friendly. Great breakfast. Very fresh and modern rooms, comfortable beds and spacious bathroom. We highly recommend this hotel for any kind of travel/travelers.

Didn't actually stay here however we was given guided tour round the facilities , and what we saw was really nice, we saw the breakfast buffet, and there was a very good selection on offer , two nice swimming pools and accommodation was very good, overall a good place to stay, one we would consider if we decide to return to the resort

First because it is Greece, second because the service is wonderful
