Vasanthi Kalidindi is the best! She has made sure that I get the appointments I need - to take care of the things I need taken care of.. & even reminds me of my upcoming appointments in case I forget. The care @GCB is something I'm so grateful for.
Don't bother, they barely work for your best interest, let alone call back or do any individualized care at any level.
Last message I sent to my care manager:
I can't even remember if we've actually talked, but last I knew you had become my care manager. I've been leaning towards ending the service I receive at GCB. My care managers change so often that I still haven't heard anything regarding the trauma informed therapist I requested months ago, and I even asked a couple of times since then, receiving the same response that they'll look into it and will refer me to someone. Will that be this year or next year? I'm not trying to be rude, but honestly I feel like the care I've received since utilizing GCB services has been worse than if I hadn't gone there for help to begin with. It got to the point where I don't even want to talk to my care manager because most of the time they'll have switched me to another one without even telling me, and why get attached to one of you guys for support, and actually try to trust you, when a month later I'll probably never communicate with you again? I don't blame you, I'd move on as soon as possible, too, because the company works you guys like slaves and doesn't pay you anything near what you're worth. I'm just kinda fed up, and I figured since I remembered what you seem to have forgotten, that I'm supposedly your client, I might as well let you know what I've decided. It's really a shame that I've been struggling really bad, and was led on to believe the help I requested was being set up. I don't care how busy someone is; if I'm having major PTSD issues and need to see someone who's trained appropriately to treat me, please advise your coworkers that they shouldn't lie to people like us, and if they don't have a heart for clients who trust that you guys will help us, then obviously customer service and compassion aren't part of their Identity. Go flip burgers because you'll get paid the same and not be working while you sleep. Plus you won't have to worry about letting us down anymore.
Therapist kept canceling on me every week for some reason or another. Only had a session and a half in three months time.
There is a place in the basement called the Wellness Center, I can go there and be myself with my Mental Illness knowing their are professionals there to get me threw my worst of day or call and check when I feel like I would be passed out in my apartment and no one would know or care about how powerful my mental I'llness when I can't get away from it.I miss the center it was a big part of my life.
It is rare to find a behavioral health agency with the amount of resources that GCB has. They are organized in a way that utilizes every dollar they are awarded in funding and it reflects in the work they do.
to describe this place is almost impossible , but i will try the place is filthy the staff are rude and poorly trained and they love to use foul language towards the clients. good luck getting anyone to call you back. thank god i don't have to use the services of a case manager after what i have read about other people's experience's have been while interacting with them. when you first walk into the agency on madison road one of the first sights is a police officer standing guard. i know that people do become out of control at the office but i have been called very nasty names by some of the staff there. one has to wonder if the reason they need police protection is because they call client's who have mental disorders names and taunt them. very stupid in today's social climate.and just uncalled for. when you are stuck here it is hard to find the will to want to continue treatment but it is what it is. what i would like is to be treated fairly and find different treatment. but i will not let them off the hook by just leaving the mental health board needs to look into some of the things that go on at this agency. i really feel pity for some of the client's here because their lucidity is greatly compromised by their mental illness and they don't have the ability to understand when they are being mistreated. serious overhaul needed i doubt that it will happen but you never know
I love their service. Been with them 7 years or more. Their case managers are pretty reasonable and reliable I've had. Only twice were they bad. In the last few years things been going great at GCBHS. No issues. They have good QOL pharmacy and support and caring doctors and nurses. I get everything I need from GCBHS. They are great!
Unprofessional, you call and make an a appointment, you wait for your phone to ring all day and they dont even contact you. Are people even doing their jobs anymore. Ppl are suffering from mental disabilities and cant get any help.
