Great location. The beef tip appetizer is very good. Dip the chips in the barbecue sauce!
I brought out of town family here and today was not a great experience. Grease sandwhich, chicken tenders ordered from the kids menu loaded with black pepper, and the Monterey cristo was underdone and flabby. My fish was good and fries were cold. Took 20 minutes to get a beer.
Service metiocre. Server apologized at least 6 times. Had to ask someone else for our drinks after 20 minutes or more. They need to take lessons from Bonefish, several waiters work together to bring food/drinks out to you in a timely matter. Food was delicious!
Good food. But why did it take so long to get our first beers?
Have dined here for years. Used to work nearby. Have always liked the atmosphere and the food. Was overcharged on my credit card and called to ask them to fix it. Spoke to the GM, but didn't know he was the GM. At no point in time did he even apologize for what happened. He said he would take care of it and get back to me in 20-30 min. He never did. I wrote an email, assuming it would go to the GM, to inform said GM of the lack of training and need to visit for improvement. Well, Scott the GM was snarky at best and though he did apologize this time, it was insincere and I am convinced he only did it because I mentioned the lack of apology in the first encounter.
Last visit. Too many other great places to dine.
Good HAPPY HOUR. Still $4 for Coors Light . The Happy Hour food is really good and is half price. (Gimme $2 pints and it would be awesome...)
Ribs were fairly dry, but seasoned well and edible. The service left alot to be desired as well.
Very nice servers and they gave me free dessert when they noticed it was my birthday when they checked my ID for a beer! I didnt even have to ask! Thanks guys for making my night
The service made up for a rather lackluster attention to the food. My bleu cheese and bacon burger was delicious, but the salad was taken off my bill after I found something that appeared to be a root in the spinach. The manager and waitstaff were very gracious and handled the situation appropriately.
Excellent food. Wonderful patio. Love the Mimosas. Reasonable prices.
Service wasn't as attentive as I would've liked for being one of only 3 people in the place. With that said the beer was great, happy hour draft 5 dollars. Food was satisfactory nothing bad about it, but the tender tips were very well done and there is no option for med rare or blu rare.
Nice steakhouse type place. Good for a special occasion.
We had an early Saturday seating for 7. The bar was packed, college football on the TV in the bar. They had a diverse menu and a well stocked bar. The place filled up and the staff was overwhelmed, confused and not very happy about it.
Good food & drink. Seating is terribly uncomfortable.
If you are short DO NOT sit in a booth- you will feel like you are in a hole! Wine was excellent, artichoke dip a bit wonky with spicy tortilla chips. Very attentive wait staff
Great place for a meal and to hang out with friends. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
solid food. never too busy when i go to sit at the bar and eat
Service was terrible! We almost walked out. Waited at least 20 minutes to even place an order. Waitress never checked back to see if food was okay or to refill drinks. We even had to get our own "to go" containers and walk up to the desk to ask for our bill. Horrible experience!
Consistently good food and good service. I have only been here for work lunches. The dining room can get a bit loud but the patio us an option. The burgers are deelish
Perfect perfect perfect perfect that's about all you can say
I will be back to this spot... Beer selection is great... Food is amazing!!
One of my favorite places to eat I have the walleye fried fish and sweet potato fries. It's always good but today the fish was a little too overdone but still tastes great.
Nice restaurant.. Staff was great, building was clean, lots of parking with a well lit lot. The food was good nothing to write home about.
Fun place. Eclectic menu from tacos to chicken pot pie to ettoufee. All good. Nice appetizers too.
We liked it. Went there at lunch hour on a Thursday. It's a pretty place inside, though you'd never know that from the exterior. The food was really good and plentiful. We had the pork pan fried potstickers, chicken tortilla soup and chicken and berry salad. Delicious.
Love love love this place during happy hour. Classy, slightly more upscale atmosphere, but happy hour is where it's at. Tenderloin tips are delicious and the sliders served with onion strings and a special sauce are to die for. They make a darn good martini and their happy hour drink specials are great. They carry a good selection of craft beer and have a couple of rotating taps as well. We rarely dine outside of happy hour so this review is only for dining at the bar between 4-7 pm on a weekday. :)
Spotted a hole in the wall, or so we thought, and we did not leave disappointed! From the location, the atmosphere, to the food oh man the food! Even the picky kid left happy!! Can't wait to get the crew back to Great Northern
Love this bar!! Great, friendly service! EVERY TIME.
Kitchen gets too backed up for them to do pickup orders
Great for lunch, happy hour or dinner. Personally I think this place is underrated, I've never been disappointing by any aspect of this establishment; food, drinks, service, price, location, parking, everything about this place is great. Although i don't understand the purple outside of the building it makes it easier to spot i guess... go give this place a try!
The food wasn't very good but the service made up for it.
Food was good, staff was nice... Believe they were under staffed, took a long time for someone to great and bring drinks, bother manager and waitress seemed confused about who was helping us. Still had a nice meal, glad we weren't in a hurry.
Happy hour menu rocks, bar selection is on point and the burgers here are hand ground and made with LOVE and you CAN taste it.
Beat buffalo or classic burger on this side of town to me. The rottiserie chicken is always fresh and despite perhaps building layout oddness interfering with private parties or seating.. the patio in the summer is dope for a group dinner or lunch or happy hour.
So fun for dinner. We had fish and chips and street tacos. Great Northern bought dessert. A lovely evening and we will always remember Great Northern's kindness
We just had our last meal at Great Northern! I can honestly say that the horrible service and poor food quality was the worst we have ever witnessed, anywhere at anytime.
Here s our list of problems from 2-14-20:
1. 6:45 reservation and was seated at an uncomfortable table at 7:10
2. 7:45 chicken and steak dinners were served cold. Plates were cold and the food seemed as though it had been sitting for 15 minutes.
3. Food was remade and served at 8:00. The food, albeit warm, had the side orders all messed up. My wife ordered cold slaw and mushrooms and they brought cold sweet potatoes instead. I ordered sweet potatoes and green beans and got asparagus with a small bowl of cold sweet potatoes. The manager took the potatoes and never brought a replacement!
4. We spoke to the manager about all these problems after she had given us a mediocre 15% discount. She did nothing more.
What a wonderful evening out with my wife. We had frequented GN many many times over the years including business lunches, Easter buffets, special occasions, etc. The name may be the same but that s about it. We will be telling all of our friends and family to stay away!
TT
Always great service and food. The atmosphere is great.
Was here for brunch so can't speak about dinner Run of the mill american fare. Kind of slow service. Just okay all around.
Outstanding staff, good food.
Big giant comfortable booths.
First date or 20 women birthday party!
Complements on the corned beef hash! The ceder river chicken fried steak not so much. The breading separated from the meat and the hot oil made the inside of the steak a little too crispy
We went on the weekend. Maybe their menu is different Sat & Sun but the food was mediocre, at best. I don't plan to go back!
Atmosphere is nice, service was pretty good, portions were too large and food, like the crazy parking lot... not impressed. Not all new experiences are good experiences. We would not go back.
The food was good the beer was better, however they keep it cold. Doesn't make you want to stay there.
The food was amazing. Got the crusted goat cheese appetizer which was awesome. I could have ended the night worth that. But I pushed on to the blue bacon burger which was cooked perfectly. The bacon was delicious, thick and sweet. The beer selection is good. Lots of local beers on tap with a rotating selection. I will be back.
The waiter was great but food took forever to come.
Menu is WOW! Very pleasant dining atmosphere. Not your average restaurant, had trouble deciding what to order, so many good choices.
Wow. Total comfort food! You can only eat this stuff in Colorado. On a cold snowy day at the end of May. It is yummy. I had meatloaf with mashed potatoes! Not California fare. But it warmed my heart. Hubby and sis-in-law had fish and chips. Big. Beautiful. Lightly breaded cod. Delish. Go see for yourself. Plus, they have a lovely Happy Hour!
Great service! Really good comfort food, the chicken pot pie was yummy :)
This was a terrible dining experience. On a Sat night we had a clueless waitress and rude staff attend us. The food was only fair. It took There was nothing good about this experience and we will never go back or recommend this place.
One of my local go-to restaurants. The menu doesn't change very often, but the food is consistently good and they offer a very generous happy hour. Additionally, the ambience is great and they have one of the best patios around!
Place has seen better days. Food was tasteless. No flavor. Entrees were uninspiring.
I had their BBQ sandwich. Some pretty good food. The service, however, was...meh. Not too many smiles, and not all that much attention. They have a great patio, though. If you are in the area and are looking for a good place for a lunch meeting, this would be a good place.
Great service, corned beef hash was pretty light on everything, "corned beef" was mostly fat chunks or half meat half fat. So much grease they're was a pool. Meat was like jerky what little there was, veggies were overlooked. Beer was overpriced. I don't leave many negative reviews but when I can't leave the bathroom, and the only thing I've eaten in the last 24 hours was this slop... yeah, won't be recommending them anymore in DTC.
Slow delivery and unresponsive. Sent 2 burgers back and it took even longer. It was not very busy and a lot of staff just standing around. Probably won't go back to eat but maybe just for a few local beers.
Great service, nice patio and great happy hour menu. And, not too crowded!!!
Really outstanding food and service. Katie was awesome, the food was spectacular. Get the filet mignon with bleu cheese fondue. You may end up openly weeping because it is so good.
Lovely patio with shade trees so we were able to enjoy the outdoors even on a hot day!
I wouldn't call this restaurant bad, but it wasn't anything special unfortunately. The food seemed a little expensive for the quality. It was tasty but not a $13 dollar burger tasty. Great beer selection. Friendly waiters and waitresses, but they aren't quite at the top of their game. Overall, I'd go again for a couple of beers, but not if I'm looking for a meal.
Food was great and service was attentive and pleasant
I'm a vegetarian and I love this place. They have the best male server there who will treat you right and amazing lasanaga.
Must try Peruvian Wings. My boyfriend craves them.
Absolute garbage made reservations for Valentine's day show up 10 minutes before I reservation to let them know we are there about 30 minutes goes by before they ask who we are again after about 45 minutes we finally get seated, a waiter comes by not very fast with water asks us if there's anything else we want, didn't have two different beers on the drink menu, we place an order for an appetizer (nachos) come out fairly quick and are decent, then we place an order for a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and another order for a buffalo burger with pepper jack cheese bacon, avocado and chips on the side, it takes forever for food to come out when it does come out the chicken fried steak has Rice not mashed potatoes with it, the burger was ordered medium rare and comes out burnt with no pepper jack cheese and No bacon, I catch the server who then proceeds to go back to the kitchen and come back and says oh sorry it'll be awhile on the mashed potatoes takes the burger back and says it won't be very long finally with still no burger or mashed potatoes we say why don't you just put the burger in a box since you've already ruined the night, they still can't get the order right and put the burger in a to-go box with fries not chips like we originally ordered, the manager finally comes over and barely apologizes and takes the food items off of our check, thanks for ruining my Valentines dinner will never be going to this place again and I would NOT recommend it......
This place is centered in the heart of dtc with the most beautiful wood floors and gorgeous bar. BUT IS FILTHY! I live close by but never go in because every time I do, it is just too dirty for me to swallow any food. Floors are disgusting with food, dirt and trash on them and NO ONE bothers to clean them. Glass/windows have hand prints and the tables are nasty. The place smells like sewage and the bartender says it's the bathrooms. My God, the bathroom........don't go in! If the outside of the restaurant is that nasty, imagine the kitchen??? This place has so much potential but no one gives a damn to make it great by cleaning it.Too bad.
Food and Drinks are great, wait time to receive food and drinks was a bit long unfortunately
This food is the bomb. never better. I loved it. try it. it is the diggity
Not good. Food was mediocre at best. Peruvian chicken was reheated and way over cooked. Veg was cold to the touch.
Service was worse, though. There were so many plates and glasses left on the table that we had to stack them. Empty appetizer plates were on the table even after we paid our check.
It was okay. Some of the bar staff are not inclined to help other members of the resturant when help is needed.
Cold food due to waitress letting it sit. Might have been OK but will never know. The manager had to apologize to the booth behind us for something, but never bothered to come around to us. Have eaten here before and it was OK. Place was dirty looking - they were not busy but there was food on floor, tables not cleaned, etc. Oh well! won't be back.
The service was top notch. I had the pastrami egg burger and it was amazing. It made my mouth make the happy noises!
