Awesome, but dying. I'm glad I saw it before it is completely dead.
Seas were SO rough we were able to snorkel a few minutes
But, the staff was VERY friendly and helpful
You can do it even if you don't know swimming, just snorkel with your guide!
Beautiful to see. Snorkeling for all skill levels. Diving too but costs extra. Only 3 change rooms on the Pontoon that smell like urine. Stinger suits provided. Mouth pieces for the snorkeling are sanitised. Semi-submersible available for those that don't want to go in the water. Ropes at 3 levels to help snorkelers and divers. It got a bit crowded in the water with flippers all over. Does take a while to get there through some open waters.
Barrier Reef Definitely worth a visit and with boat snorkel / diving equipment certainly go up the sea. Possible to see whales in good time. Barrier Reef was one of our 3 highlights!
Very clear water and the reef is growing back and recovering.
What a fantastic day out on the Great Barrier Reef we had to awesome amazing dives around the outer wall of Lady Musgrave Island. Lady Musgrave experience very professional staff were so friendly and helpful and the island was beautiful. I highly recommend visiting Lady Musgrave Island Bundaberg Queensland Australia
1 good hour boat trip to the diving platform anchored there will then give no (EXPECTED!) Experience. because the coral bleach has already left its unpleasant appearance here: mostly dead corals (appear 'kitzegrau').
Your too busy look at your screen to realise you actually have a life....get off ya phone n tv n live your life as our heritage has bought us up other wish it will be demolished and another brick building will take it's place go find your being...... suggestion....hike.bike.fish.camp.discover what your missing be inventive and find it....
We came here with the company Cruise Whitsundays. You get to a kind of Marina station they call Pontoon. It's fine because after almost three hours on the boat, it's good for you to be in a firm place. The food is also pretty good considering that it is an offshore buffet. But do not expect haute cuisine. The staff of the company is very good and in general they are all very nice. A recommended experience here in Whitsundays. It's not cheap, but in the end, which is cheap in Australia apart from Japanese food?
Great service and workers. Always have a smile on their faces
Excellent area for recreational marine activities in a protected environment. Just beautiful.
Horribly depressing to see the reef in such a state. Coral bleaching and pollution have turned this natural majesty into a wasteland where there are only about 3 types of coral left.
The fish that are there are gorgeous as is the coral still alive.
The Keppel Islands are an absolute dream to visit. Especially when sailing through the 18 Islands and 35 Beaches.
The Southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef is at the doorstep.
Unforgettable. Beautiful experience to not stop doing once in a lifetime.
Go scuba diving! Even if only 30 ft..good intro to breathing with tank and clearing your ears
Amazing. A life highlight. Saw reef shark, sea turtles, barracudas, jellyfish. Watch out for the trigger fish!
Beautiful, diving is a must here. Tusa6 cairns highly recommended
Really lovely day trip to the outer reef, definitely signs of bleaching which was sad to see.
Absolutely amazing experience. Massive giant trevally and other spectacular fish and corals to see... fantastic!
It is a bit double. Because of the rough sea I became seasick and I have had little fun at this place. For those who do not suffer from seasickness it is really fun! You can snorkel with a submarine or walk on the sea floor with a diving helmet with oxygen hose. They also rent out goggles on strength which is nice for me as a spectacle wearer!
Go see it before it's gone.
The underside is a completely different world
We had a great family day out! Friendly crew with great customer aupport. Nice quiet island for relax not too many people.
Great reef absolutely beautiful , no bleaching false reporting from stupid green group's.
Lots and lots of options to explore the reef. Shouldn't be missed.
This is one place the Government and the so-called Greenies should keep their grubby little hands off. With a bit of careful management it will complete it's own restoration.
Absolutely amazing reef out here
Mind blowing
Swimming with GT and sharks and many many other fishes
Sharks sharks and more sharks. Very difficult to get a fish past them. They are now in plague proportions.
Beautiful reef. Moore Reef took is 3 hours of sailing
Cyclone Linda could not stop enjoying beautiful Heron Is.
Loved the place. Loved the boat trip to Hamilton Island. Lovely place. Plenty to see and do. Meal fantastic. Staff great.
Such a fantastic place. Unfortunately coral reef is almost dead.....
The sea is clear, the corals are many, and the sky is blue.
Can't believe how beautiful this place is. We must protect it at all cost!
Unlike anything else you'll ever experience! See if you will run into some rare animal gems!!
When you visit a place and you think to yourself, it can't really be that beautiful and special, well it can. With every view and turn you get the wow factor. If ever in Australia you must visit Hamilton island and take a trip to Whitehaven beach in the whitsundays. It will not disappoint.
Being at the great barrier reef is a privilege and being here was just so. Loved Australia as a whole and the great barrier reef made it the cherry on top.
Sad to see these beautiful place losing the corals.
The sea is not too clear, the sea creatures are used to living with people, unlike nature.
A wonderful experience. 1 1/2 hour ride from Cairns wharf to a permanently anchored pontoon platform that is like a giant floating tent. Snorkeling, glass bottom boat, and semi-submersible boat are included. Options for scuba, snuba, helmet dives; helicopter, and more. Beautiful reefs and abundant, colorful fish. Another option is sea-bob, a powered sled that pulls a snorkelers. It turned out to be a major upper body workout in the choppy water. My ribs ache from the banging around and I saw a lot more snorkeling without it. I won't do the sea-bob again.
The GBR is a bucket list item for many people. And this wonder is definitely worth the title. But pick your tour operator properly as a lot of tourist-trap options are there.
