So sad. It's like a war zone.

So sad. It's like a war zone.
The coral is nearly dead and the fish depleted.
Absolutely stunned with the change from when I was last here.
I felt guilty being there and contributing to its demise.

What an experience, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This is what travelling is all about! The Reef is a magnificent place to visit. Snorkelling is a must, if you are game, do a diving course and explore the Reef from a different angle. Couldn't believe the different types of fish on the Reef with so many colours and sizes.

Passions for Paradise made this day one of the best of my life. They even re-certified my sister's 1968 SUBA license. It was a day I will never forget. We saw so many different types of fish, coral, sting rays, giant clams, turtles, colors of coral reefs I thought I would only see on television...but I got to see it for myself. I got to save a shark by using the services of a company that makes conscience choices, as do I. It was a less than 2% chance to have the weather and ocean conditions we experienced... getting to dive inside and outside of the Great Barrier Reef. The wall was amazing, beyond words.

The Great Barrier Reef is 2300 kilometres of livin...

The Great Barrier Reef is 2300 kilometres of living coral which is located on the north-east coast of Australia.
It is home to marine life including sea turtles, manta rays, reef sharks and many colourful fish.
It is an Eco-Tourist hotspot. There are many organized tours which depart from cities and towns along the coastline where the Great Barrier Reef is situated. You can go to see the Whitsunday Islands in a seaplane and circle over Heart Reef, a heart shaped coral arrangement. You are then dropped off at a coral lagoon nearby where you can snorkel around the Great Barrier Reef. Getting back on the seaplane you are flown to Whitehaven Beach, a seven kilometre stretch of beach with pure white silica sand.
There are many diving tours available such as diving to see the wreck of the SS Yongala which sits 28 metres below the surface on the sandy ocean floor.
This is considered one of the best dive sites in the world. The ship sank in 1911, it is 110 metres long and it is now a home for sea snakes, turtles, manta rays, sharks and many tropical fish.

Being able to swim with sea turtles, surrounded by tropical fish and see whales jumping off Lady Musgrave Island was an unforgettable experience and the highlight of a fantastic trip to Australia.

To dive on such a reef is something wonderful.

To dive on such a reef is something wonderful.
You can often find turtles. Amazing experience. Of course, there are often sharks, but also large, friendly Maori wrasse fish, which swim themselves to caress them. Such big pets;)
The price, however, for Polish conditions is quite high for just reaching the reef. But that's where it happens.

The Great Barrier Reef is truely a wonder of the world. I Flew over the area on a Seaplane and a helicopter. Saw wild Dolphins, turtles and even a whale and her calf. Was lucky enough to have a picnic on the shore and swam around for a while on Whitehaven Beach and then flew back to Hamilton Island. Such a magical location and one I will remember so well. #LetsGuide #whitehaven #GreatBarrierReef #whitsundays #Queensland

Fabulous..a must do! Stay overnight or for a few days on a boat to enjoy to the full. Snorkelling amazing..soo many fish. Seeing the coral standing out of the water when the tide was low ..fascinating.
Watching the sunset.
Too many wonderful things & hard to describe the experience..just do it!

Visiting one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World...what is there not to love. Listening to the marine biologists, who clearly love their job was fantastic. This is a "must do", I am not a swimmer but even I went snorkeling (probably not very well..but that's OK). Semi-submersibles, and glass viewing stations as well as optional ocean walking and helicopter flights over the reef.
So beautiful...I feel privileged.

We took the tour from quicksilver. Took big fast catamaran out to their platform in the reef. Included snorkeling, skindiving, helmet walking, semisubmursable sub, and buffet lunch. Helicopter rides for fee also available. They had lessons for all activities and pushed safety. Free suits available to protect from jelly fish. There were several hundred people on the platform, all having a good time.

To say it is an amazing place to visit in just about the biggest understatement in history. I have been in Northern Queensland now for 4 years. I have been going out to the barrier reef as often as I can. I am a very keen fisherman and spearfishman. I always ensure that I am abiding by the laws in reference to no fish zones and bag limits.
The diversity is fish and animals that you can see out there is awesome. Everything from coral to humpback whales. This is something that we must look after so that future generations can get the chance to enjoy it too.
If you have never experienced it I would definitely reccomend it to anyone to experience.
