Sorry but the price of this place is not at the level of the accommodations. Denali as a whole seems like it's trying to squeeze opportunity hard but this locale was the largest illustration of that in my experience. Nothing different than basic accommodations and a window AC unit. Service was fine and the room itself was fine but I have slightly higher expectations at 400 a night.

The location is lovely, and the staff generally attentive and service oriented. There is a total lack of oversight of maintenance, housekeeping, and amenities which made this a really substandard stay. I stayed three nights. At nearly 400 a night. First the AC wasn t cooling. I removed the filter and there was about 1/4 inch of dust blocking the entire return. I called for maintenance and they came up and vacuumed out the unit at 10 at night and it cooled fine after that. It was clearly no one s job to check these. Housekeeping only came once. I had a do not disturb up one morning. I told the housekeeper I d be out of the room at 11 so she could clean. I saw the housekeeping supervisor checking rooms and she said that she was aware and that my room would be cleaned at 11. I come back late and tired and no one had been in, I had no towels, no coffee, and my room was as I had left it. I walked back up to the lodge and got coffee and someone brought towels. The WiFi didn t work in the room at all and didn t work well anywhere on the property. The staff said that there was nothing they could do. Then the last morning I couldn t find my breakfast voucher and the staff would not allow me to go grab a piece of fruit. Then I find out that two of my travel mates had just left extra breakfast vouchers at the hostess station to be used by anyone who didn t have theirs. Of course no one mentioned that so I just went hungry although the hotel had been paid for all of those breakfasts. Really I can t recommend this place. They just don t have their act together and it made for a really challenging stay.

Fantastic place with an even more fantastic view! Staff is very helpful and friendly. Christina at the tour information desk is a amazing. We came and asked a few questions and she gave us so many options with advice, along with booking everything from pick up to drop off for us.

The views from their deck are sufficient for five stars. And the food is superb, but pricey, even for Alaska. Gracious service from a wonderfully diverse staff, including many lower 48 and international students on summer work/vacation. It would help to make sure the cliffside buildings are reasonably
safe during an earthquake. Thank you!

Nice location, WiFi is horrible but was able to get some cell service. It was really in the season, so they were all still learning, but they were very accommodating. Loss of one star for the free WiFi as it slower than edge cell service.

The Lodge is okay. The rooms are a bit dated. The property in total needs a little maintenance. there is a giant depression right as you walk into the front steps that holds water. The only way to get through it is to walk through the puddle. Not the best first impression. Although the signs coming up the road are funny!

The rooms provide beautiful sweeping views of the mountains, but they're EXTREMELY basic and aren't worth more than $75/night (at the most). Their rooms are a complete rip off at $450+/night.

Dinner, on the other hand, was amazing. Yes, expensive, but well worth the money!

No hot water. They ran out of propane and are aware of the problem. Offered me a $3 cup of coffee for my troubles. Room needed vacuumed. Makes you think about other things. Food is average and very expensive. You are pretty captive here and your choices are limited.

This is a nice lodge siting high above glitter gulch. Overall I enjoyed my stay as they had a nice bar and decent food. It is about a 10 minute walk down a service road to get to the shopping, restaurants and bars below. The only downsides to this lodge are poor water pressure in the shower and slow internet.

The information desk was quite comprehensive and they had a convenient shuttle system in conjunction with all the hotels in the area available for use. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless when we walked in. Unfortunately there isn't any indoor recreation area to hang out in. Wifi speed was good and the tv had a good selection.

Visited for one night July 14th, and stayed in room 3111. Our room was directly above a water cistern and every minute and a half the water pump would click on and make a loud noise that seemed to amplify in the room. I called the front desk and ask them if there was any thing they could do. I met with security outside at midnight and showed them the problem. The next day I went to talk to the manager about the problem and she said she would notify maintenance. I explained I was not happy paying $379 dollars for a room that I couldn't sleep in. She asked me if I had breakfast yet and I told her I hadn't. She offered, "Well, let me get you a cup of coffee and maybe you will begin to feel better." I told her that a cup of coffee wasn't going to help me feel better and after pressing a bit I left knowing I was getting no where. If you want to spend close to 400 dollars for a room and not get any sleep and then get insulted by management when you complain, then this is clearly the place for you.

Nice place but don't expect any help from the staff. I could give you many stories but below are just two examples...

We asked the front deck clerk today if the Denali Bluffs (their sister property) is a good place for lunch. They said yes and told us how to catch the shuttle to get there. Once there we learned the restaurant is not open for lunch!

Last night we were given a copy of the shuttle pick up times but quickly learned it was last years scheduled so all the times were wrong.

Just two of many examples of the incompetence in their staff!

Excellent rooms, comfortable and clean. Check-in was flawless, and they were great about handling luggage for us. The shuttles are wonderful, getting you wherever you want to go. We were there early in season, and my only negative is that a few of the staff werent as knowledgeable about things as I had hoped. Onsite Restaurant is very good, if a bit over-priced, but what isnt in Alaska? Overall, I highly recommend this property!

Not a ton of options for decent hotel accommodations at Denali, but this place rose to the occasion. Perched precariously at the top of the hill, this hotel can be a little intimidating when you see it from the train station down below... But from the moment we are picked up on the bus we were treated as valued guests we arrived with a completed itinerary for 3 days, but we were assured that if we came up without any set plans the guest could help make all the arrangements that we needed for any of the local area attractions. We were almost sad that we didn't get to spend more time at the hotel because the views were gorgeous and the staff was so friendly. The main lobby includes a coffee shop that can make you bag breakfast or lunch to go, I would highly and you take advantage of that. There is a beautiful bar overlooking the park, and a large sit-down restaurant. The median age is probably around 60... But being in our thirties we still felt as if we were respected and treated as valued guests. We were lucky enough to stay for solstice, and the housekeeping staff even left sunglasses in the room for us to enjoy the party overnight.

We chose this hotel because a friend recommended the restaurant, touting it was an amazing experience. This hotel was by far the most disappointing experience I have had at any hotel I've ever stayed at. The front desk clerks should be fired for incompetence. We checked in and asked if we needed a reservation for the restaurant and we're told no. So come 5 hours later we go to eat and they say they are all booked up and as we walk by the front desk the clerk starts laughing that checked us in. For $450 a night I would expect top notch service, but instead get laughed at about booking a restaurant reservation. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

Not a four star based on accommodations, but definitely a five star based on location! Nice trails from the lodge down to the Park highway or up Sugarloaf (a difficult climbing hike). Once down to the Park highway there is a walking recreational trail along the road to the downtown shops and to the Park entrance crossing over the Nenana river. There are many strives available including rafting, bike rentals, or simply walking. The location can't be beat!

Breathtaking views!
Stayed here on our anniversary in September of 2014. Brilliant yellow trees, very scenic. Enjoyed watching the train snaking along the river and float planes flying past under us. The staff brought us an anniversary plate of cake and berries free of charge!

Great rates, too. Liked everything about this place.

The room was large, clean, and comfortable. We had an amazing view out our window. The grounds were gorgeous and well kept. We were very pleased with the staff. In the front lobby there is an area to buy drinks and snacks. There is also a restraunt and a bar. The shuttle will drop you off down town at no charge and take you back to the hotel. Wonderful place to stay.

Overpriced is the best way to sum up Grande Denali Lodge. A good 3 star hotel priced like a 5 star hotel. Food was fair but badly overpriced. Room was clean but very basic. Location provided great views but the road up the hill was crumbling, and too far from the town to walk there. Service was very good but no room service. Ok, just overpriced.

A very nice hotel with wonderful views over the valley the river the mountains and a beautiful sunset. The services are excellent: the restaurant, the bar, laundry service, housekeeping .... the staff is very welcoming smiling and prompt to requests. The bedding is on top, the room clean with small gifts to guests. Thank you to all the staff who thanks to their professionalism allows us to appreciate even more this country by offering us quality services. Group stay in July 2019.

The views from this Hotel is amazing. Most of the staff were great. The rooms were fine but no better than any other hotel. There is NOTHING here worth the price we paid for the 4 day stay. Breakfast was very expensive in the restaurant as were all the meals and was not that great. Order of eggs ($21.00) did not come with toast. Another $3 for that. WHAT??? The young hostess was not happy we wanted a window seat and the place was empty. The place is nice but walks to the rooms are long. The desk help (TJ) was great as was the Concierge.(Dani) I know Alaska is expensive but this place is insane. We wound up eating at a Food Truck down the road for much cheaper and GREAT FOOD. Go there to eat.

Wow...The views from this hotel are outstanding. We actually stayed in the Bear Cabin, which was adorable. The space was nice to spread out and unwind. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The wifi at the cabin/hotel is very good and efficient.

Room had amazing view over the valley. Although I see some other rooms face the hill/car park behind (terrible view). Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms a little old but functional.
Restaurant is in an amazing location and has awesome views!!!! Prices are high and quality of food average.

The view is absolutely amazing. The rooms are nice enough. The restaurant was very over priced. $40 per plate for not a lot of food. It tasted excellent, but there are a lot better places in Anchorage or Fairbanks for $40 a plate. Spend your money on excursions.

After you have seen the view and stayed here once, I'd recommend some of the cheaper hotels in Denali. You don't spend much time in the room, so don't over pay.

Stunning views. Excellent accommodations. Clean, quiet. Very good restaurant next door, albeit fairly pricey, but that s Alaska. Would stay again. Perfect accommodation location for a visit to Denali.
