Very poor experience. I ahve called 4 times in 3 months to have the dead tree removed from my yard. It is the city tree between the sidewalk and the street. First time i was told they would be at my house July 2nd to remove the tree. Second call, was told it could take 6 weeks. Waited 7 weeks. Third call - was told the forestry dept would contact me. It's been 2 weeks. They haven't. And the tree is about to fall on my house/powerlines/ etc. Poor communication and very disappointed. I am about to remove it myself and charge the city.

The outdoor classes offered by Parks and Rec are such a beautiful thing, in fact I wish they could continue through the Fall! Monday night Zumba is such an awesome way to start my week, Amy and Bri are the icing on the cake because they are such fantastic and fun instructors...and you ll never experience judgement if you are less coordinated haha!! I also love Amy Kwaiser s Tuesday night Sunset yoga, it s so relaxing and the park is such a nice setting. I go whenever I get the chance. Fall outdoor yoga would be an amazing addition to the line-up while indoor classes remain virtual!!

Attended free community events put on by this department and they have always been well-communicated, organized, and most importantly, fun! Can't emphasize enough how much they do for the GR community.

I have been taking yoga classes at the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation for more than a decade. I have also recently started taking a Zumba class. All the instructors are energetic, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The price is reasonable, and you can buy a punch card if you are planning to be out of town during the session or if you want to sample a few classes. The downtown studio space is excellent. I highly recommend the classes and the instructors.
