We stated at the Grand Hyatt New York on our only trip to Manhattan. The price was very reasonable, and the lobby and public areas are very well kept. The staff was helpful, and the food at the restaurant was of a high quality. This is close to Times Square, and centrally located in Manhattan. Ideal location for tourist and sightseeing activities. The concierge desk was very helpful.
The reason for not rating a five star was that the room itself had a few deficiencies: the drain flies in the bathroom were an annoyance, and the room was slightly less well kept than the hotel overall. Clean and functional, but not what I would call posh. Still, at the price it was well worth our stay.

Easy location to get to at Grand Central Station. Nicely decorated & friendly staff. Can be confusing getting around the hotel using the escalator or stairs so stick to waiting fir the elevator to get exactly where you are going.

This is my favorite place to stay in NYC. It's like getting to live in Grand Central. If you can get a room with Club privileges you should definitely take advantage of that, as the food is really good. It can get really crowded though, especially towards the end of the breakfast window, so go as early as you can.

Hotel is getting dated and older, but still much better than neighboring Westin on 42nd. Service decent, location is excellent, but 30 dollar per night "service charge" bites. Bed was clean, but sheets are really worn and not of Grand Hyatt quality .

If you want to be just another hotel guest in a ant farm of a hotel then the Grand Hyatt is good for you. This place is packed and often has several conventions, parties etc. Even being a Diamond Hyatt member wont get you good service.

The rooms are nice the bathrooms are super small, the lobby is busy. The good points are the Hyatt Club Lounge and the 24 hour market. Oh and access to the trains wont get any better than this.

I prefer to stay at the Hyatt Andaz just a block away.

There is a problem with the water coming out badly, the stopper of the bathtub is hard to close, and there is an obstacle because it is old ... Just,
It is convenient to walk to major attractions such as Times Square!

You can have a delicious and healthy meal by eating in the Whole Foods Market buffet style of about 10 minutes on foot ( )) )

Next to the station there are also Shake Shack and Drag Store!

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Room floorplan is a little weird, we had a king with a sofa on the side but there's barely any room between the sofa and the bed. Room service was also a bit slow when we asked for more towels and soap, took almost an hour. Other than that was a pleasant stay, the 24/7 cafe downstairs has good selections and decent food.

The room sizes were large for the price and very clean. They have a grand club addon to your reservation which i highly recommend! The food is amazing and we did not have any problems except for the key card not working due to the dead battery in the door. Will return soon!

Large hotel, conveniently located right by Central station. Pleasant and helpful staff. Lacking "personality", enough comes from the size.

Had breakfast included but it was for the adults only. But they agreed to switch to four breakfast tickets per. day, and halve the days. So we all ate "free" together, then ate buffet breakfast elsewhere the days we did not have breakfast included.

I visited my friend here who was visiting from out of town on business. The hotel was clean and beautiful, but the shower had no hot water for during her stay which she repeatedly contacted housekeeping about. I would not recommend this place under the circumstances.

The area is great, obviously. The staff did try to work hard for you, but we had some semi-minor issues with the room check-in but our checkout was delayed. Rooms were clean but one room did had a bit of perfume smell. The bar closes quite early and the light switches are annoying too.

hotel was nice and provided great service and discount (had a group which booked 30+ rooms at a time)
it was until the restaurant in the lobby denied service to room. I asked the restaurant if they're part of the hotel. They said yes. But when I asked if I can bring the dishes back into my room. They told me they're different from hotel. I'm all confused :O

Stayed here for a work trip and had a great experience. Times Square was only about a 10 minute walk away. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was very modern, clean, and comfortable. Would recommend to family and friends.

Great sized room, fairly clean. There is some water damage in the bathroom and everything looks as if it s seen better days. That said, there s nothing really that bad. Our previous hotel looked cleaner but had some weird smells. So at least there aren t any smells here.. The employees have been very friendly and helpful.

Centrally located, clean and decent amenities. You could not ask for more feom a hotel thats walking distance from time square, central park , Rockefeller center and empire state building. Its also a 15 mins train ride from one world observatory and Brooklyn bridge.

I got the room at $180 night which was an unbelievable deal. The rooms are on the smaller side but its Manhattan you are talking about.

The lobby has a market place which has decent food and bottled drink choices if you are in a hurry or late at night.

This place deserves 5 stars if not for the $30 destination fee racket they are running and if they kept a coffee kettle in the room without me having to ask for it.

I'm from Mississippi. I came here for a vacation in January and it was great. Grand Central is literally connected to the hotel. The room service was great. Best shower I have had in a year. They have a room safe, concierge, friendly staff, a restraunt, a place to buy snacks, and probably more. Right down the street you can get breakfast/coffee. I would recommend for a vacation to N.Y.

Not staying here again. Was up there a couple weeks ago for work and I left covered in bedbug bites. Wrote the hotel, and they claim to have zero trace of bedbugs and they're not compensating me at all. What a joke.

The hotel was nice. But they ran out of rooms even though I booked my room weeks ago. So they did bump me up to a suite and the next day will get a regular king. (I was happy then) We got up to the suite and the floor and the walls were dirty. But it didn't fully upset me. The following day we go down to check in our new room and they are booked up. So we did a bag check at 11:00am and they told us that we will get a call in a few hours. Well after it get to 9:45pm we decided to go back to find out why we didn't get a call to inform us that our room was ready. And they told us sorry but its been ready since 11:45am.

The check in and check out process flowed smoothly and efficiently. The staff was friendly and eager to assist. The rooms were refreshed early in the mornings, and the rooms had a contemporary flair that were pleasant to the eye.

The hotel is incredibly convenient if you are staying around the midtown area. It is right outside of Grand Central Station. I assume depending on the room size, some rooms are wider than others but the one we were in was quiet NYC narrow. The amenities were great but the elevator banks from the lobby were a bit confusing (some elevator banks went to certain floors). Other than being narrow, the room had the TV/sitting area right when you walk in. A standard bathroom and a double bed room. It was just enough room for 4 people but we did "bump into each other" a few times when getting ready in the morning. Overall, great for a NYC experience.

Hotel is huuuuugggge, as a Hyatt globalist, I am pretty familiar with Hyatt hotels around the world. This one in my opinion could improve, as the rooms were tiny, Dusty, and overall subpar for a Hyatt. The fitness center was okay, but could use a bit more equipment. Otherwise, it also lacks spas and pools, and some other things you might want. Otherwise, still a pretty good hotel at a stellar location.
