Attended their annual sheep-shearing festival today. It was loads of fun! The actual shearing was cool - they demonstrated both electric and hand-cut shearing techniques - but that was a small part of the whole festival. They also had demonstrations of spinning wool into yarn along with other crafts (basket weaving, smithing, metal crafting), herding with dogs, and a whole bunch of cool vendors and other demonstrations. Well worth a visit, and very kid-friendly. One of the sheep gave birth to two lambs when they started to shear her! In a few weeks they'll be having their annual plant sale, which is a fantastic place to get interesting and unique vegetables, herbs, and decorative plants for your garden. Lots of varieties that I'd never heard of, and already sprouted & ready to plant. I plan to come home with a lot of plants that weekend! Staff and volunteers are all very friendly and knowledgeable as well.

Love Gore Place!!! They are so knowledgeable about the mansion and grounds and very accommodating. Highly recommend plant sales, Jane Austen parties, and any holiday events- such bad frightful Fridays, and other educational tours/activities. The mansion is beautiful!! They offer outdoor tours now and stargazing, but I can t wait to do the moonlit tours inside when it s safe again post COVID.

It was great to spend the morning on the ground with my kids. We blew bubbles and had a picnic (taking all our trash out with us of course!). A great place to meet up with a friend for social distance low key hanging out too.

we visited for a corn roast event. food was way overpriced (outside vendors, $4 for a single ear of corn?!) but music and crowd was fun. needs more promotion and focus to achieve potential
