Very nice staff. Showed my son how to tie a good knot. Gave advice. Well-stocked place.
Such a great place. On vacation up in the cape and wanted to go striped bass fishing. They answered all my questions and helped outfit me with great equipment. They didn t push the expensive items but the right ones. Cannot wait to go back.
The best sporting goods store on Cape Cod, by far. Phil, the current owner, is doing a great job carrying on the high standards set by his predecessors. After years of travelling around in the military and government service, it was awesome to return home to find the same great Goose Hummock Shop under the current ownership. With the current pandemic, I placed an online order for some fishing tackle. I figured they'd just pop it in the mail. Instead, I received a phone call from Phil 3-4 minutes after placing the order, with his offer to bag it up and drop it outside the store for me. It was a great transaction, and it allowed me to take the kids fishing earlier than expected. A+ Service. The Goose has a customer for life, and a very happy returning native Cape Codder.
Good stuff. I always make sure I check out both levels
Always the place to go for outdoor equipment, especially fishing gear and tackle. The young fellows who took over the store are friendly and know where to fish to find the ones who are biting! You can also charter a fishing trip through the shop as well. Everything for the Cape angler!
Good selection and knowledgable staff. A bit pricey.
Over-priced, but somehow worth it. I love to spoil myself at this man store! Staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly, which I appreciate.
Great service from a knowledgeable staff. Only ace I will go for fishing gear and advice on the lower Cape.
This is by far the best and most helpful tackle shop on cape. I drive out of my way to go here, even during the busy summer months. Phil and his staff are excellent and very helpful. Every employee I've interacted with here knows their stuff and is more than willing to help. If you're an inexperienced fisherman or someone who has been fishing all their life you'll get great service and find exactly what you need. Their online store is great and you can get your fix if you're not local or if you don't fancy the drive up to Orleans. I can't recommend this shop highly enough.
Always the best guidance. Expertise in every category!
The best place to get your hunting and fishing supply's quality idems .
Got everything you'll need. But, very expensive and nothing's on sale.... Lots of fun just to roam the store
Great kayak rental in beautiful Orleans Town Cove. Helpful staff and reasonable prices.
Easy rentals , friendly staff! Was so windy when we went kayaking and current made it hard to get anywhere but it was a lovely day out! Kayaked to the island, went swimming & saw seals ! Park in the lower lot for rentals.
Great service, one of the guys was being scolded by this miserable dusty lady about him coughing and not wanting him to touch the items she was purchasing bit he kept his composure and dealt with it right. I would've handled that way differently. Just for that they deserve the five stars.
Lovely selections of tackle and fishing rods. The hunting section is well stocked and is decorated well
Highly recommend, these guys are great! The staff is knowledgeable and they have great inventory. These guys went above and beyond to get me into the exact rod/reel set-up I was looking for, and did so at an outstanding price! I will be a returning customer for sure.
Ordered an Old Town predator kayak. Dave was very informative, helpful, and made the delivery process easy and convenient. Looking forward to taking this rig out on the water!
They have a great selection of hard and soft baits. Also a lot of other fishing supplies. The only bad thing was I bought shinners and most of them died in about an hour/ hour and a half.
Store is a surf and fish shop plenty of things to browse, if your from out of state don't look into buying weapons
I wouldn't go anywhere else but Goose Hummock!! Great guys that know what they're talking about and amazing prices on good equipment!
Drove up from WV to fish the canal. Stopped by the Goose, Mark and Jasper fixed me right up. Got a inexpensive combo, but good and they send me in right direction. Got into some stripers on Monday so had to go back to thank them. Got hooked up with Maddie and Jake, they all took me lobstering. What a great way to see your area. It's good to see some of the younger generation really do appreciate what they have. Thanks again.
They have anything you need here and the workers are so very kind. It's great to browse and look at the plethora of gear they have in stock or ask for fishing advice. It's always fun to stop by the shop.
A good place to rent kayaks and enjoy the coast of Orleans in Cape Cod.
Nice sales people!, helpful with questions I asked! Expensive clothing!! Fun store to look around in(a lady speaking!!), asked for "Worms"(fishing), to use as a joke (for something back home in Pa!!), had quite a unique selection!!
All the staff I have encountered here are pleasant and knowledgeable the best part when they dont know the answer they will go find one of the others who may know better.
My husband fishes and I bow hunt. Great shop with lots to offer. Fantastic selections.
Goose Hummock is an awesome specialty shop. This sort of store is slowly disappearing. Staff has expertise in boating and fishing.
Great selection. Knowledgeable service. Seems pricey.
Rental process was easy, did it right online. $50 for a 3 hour tandem kayak rental seemed reasonable. Staff was very friendly
Nice store with very helpful and friendly employees. Gave us some great tips and places to go as this was our first time fishing from the shore for salt water fish. They also sell salt water and fresh was fishing license.
One step shopping for anyone who has a fisherman or Hunter they need Christmas gifts for.
Excellent place to shop just about anything that you want you can definitely get it
Ugh. I think I'll not go in there anymore. They used to be a good local source for fishing gear at any price point, but they've really gone over the top in terms of pushing the high-end stuff. In the attitude and manner of the young sales staff, it seems like they've given up on the local crowd. Most recent example: I go in with my child to buy a first pair of polarized sunglasses for fishing... a young sales guy with a smirk and southern drawl comes up to me and says, "Do you want something quality, or something el-cheapo?" Actually, I'm looking for something I can afford, so I'll hold off on the Maui Jims for my 7-year-old. Good news: Amazon delivers on Sundays.
Great selection of Benchmade Blue Class. More rods, reels, lures, and flies than you d know what to do with! Simms and Grunden gear, and Yeti too!
Fisherman - oh this maybe my favorite place in Orleans!
Great place, knowledgeable staff, (mostly). N8cwly set up. Have just about everything you need for fishing etc. My go to place on the cape.
If you're looking for some really good salt water fishing gear out on the Cape, I highly recommend this place
Yes, the prices are a bit high, at least for me, but you are purchasing quality gear and the staff there really knows their stuff
Rented a couple of kayaks here. We seemed to be a bit of a burden to the employees. Going out on the lake there was rough due to power boats and high wind. Better off renting from Jack's over in Nickerson State Park; smooth, clear water.
This place is great! They have so many good things like fishing materials and t-shirts! It is the best!
Great customer service and helpful with advice on local fishing spots
Bought a kayak from this store arrived damaged they did not return it or gave me a discount on it. Also the battery meter on the kayak did not work. Horrible way to treat a customer that bought a $2,500 fishing kayak!!!
I had a great experience at the Goose recently. Erik helped me pick out an amazing St. Croix rod and Shimano reel. He showed an awesome new way to rig a wacky worm and recommended Dartspins. Thanks to Erik's recommendations, I caught a ton of fish in both fresh and saltwater. The highlight was the 5 lbs. 8 ounce largemouth. I can't wait to come back to the Goose!
Great shop with a great selection, and helpful, friendly staff.
Stopped into this place on a whim looking for rainboots, did not have a very big selection- however if you're looking for more intense muck boots you'll be in luck. Lots and lots of fishing paraphernalia and the prices were all over the place; some things seemed to be a good deal while others were way off.
Friendly staff, competent and helpful with novice rentals.
Great place for hunting and fishing licenses and supplies. Suspect you could get good local advice here too.
Dana, works in the Firearms Department is outstanding he is willing to answer any questions you might have. His knowledge in Firearms is endless.
Great job setting us up with kayaks, at a good price. Went the extra mile to make our schedule. Good help getting in and out of the water.
Sam and Erik have been great resources in helping me find and decide what I need to keep on being successful in both fresh and salt water
Love this place for family kayaking adventures. The rental prices are reasonable and the support staff are friendly and helpful. Fun to spot a seal trying to get a closer look and tease the girls that a great white is lurking below ;) Water way opens up to past the cove and empties at beach. But that would be a trek which would best be explored via a boat rental.
Treated me quite well for a pair of emergency waders
Customer service here is amazing. The store associates are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonable about working within a budget. My husband followed their advice and caught a striper on his first cast.
Like any store, your experience there depends upon who you interact with. A while back, I had an unfortunate experience with a salesperson who I don't think works there any more. More recently, my experiences have only been hugely positive. I've become a total fan of "the Goose" and I only wish I had more money to spend there.
Near the Orleans rotary. Great selection of fishing gear. Pricey.
At the Cape for a week with the family, second day fishing had issues with one of two reels just serviced in CT. Staff said they couldn't promise it could be repaired by the end of my weeks stay but would try. Next morning while using my back up around Morris island I get a call telling me it was ready!! Tommy the Reel Mechanic explained what he had repaired and shared a few fishing spots. Great service, Staff, and Merchandise.
Thanks!
