I was scheduled for a "woman's health" Gyn Appointment and was given a EKG, an emotional/ behavior assessment amongst a few other things. Ultimately my reason for scheduling an appointment as a new patient wasn't acknowledged. If you're going to accept new clients and randomly bill them incorrectly at least be honest and upfront about the services you truly offer. Highly disappointed and will not recommend.

I've been a patient of Dr. Goldson for over 2 years now she is very thorough and professional. She listens to her patients and works with them to manage their health. Her office staff is also friendly and professional there are no extremely long wait times.
I have been going to Dr. Goldson for seven years now. She is the best. She has morning, evening, and some Saturday appointments. She is very straight forward and tries very hard to keep her appointment times on schedule. My only complaint is the "new" front desk person and going outside the office to get blood work done. I'm not sure where they found her from, but please bring back the old person. I think her name was Keisha. Other than the "new" front desk person, the staff is great and helpful. The PA is good too if Dr. Goldson is not available. Please bring Labcorb on as a blood work provider.
Dr. Goldson and her team are really warm & approachable. The office runs smoothly, and they provide great care. All of my experiences with them as a patient have been really positive.
Unfortunately I can't give a rating due to many factors. One that stands out the most is when Dr. Goldson proceeded to tell another doctor on the phone while I'm in the room that I'm a problem. She also was so adamant about me having a test done ( which I did ) and I've yet to hear from her office regarding the results ( test done in January). So, no rating here and I'll stop because if I go on it would be a novel. Good luck! Oh I see I have to give something ...
I Attempted to support this black owned business four years ago, it was a two hour wait, I could not sit in there i left and did not look back. Four years later the reviews look the same. I made an appointment online called to confirm appointment made. I received two phone calls and i currently do not have an appointment. After confirming the appointment I was offered a appointment with the physician assistant who has a psychology degree, If I wanted therapy no problem. Sometimes you just have to stay on the other side.
I went here because I was sick with a bronchial infection, they're nearby, and they happen to take our insurance. Extremely mediocre experience. Staff was very unfriendly, zero smiles or sympathy, no kleenex in the waiting room, and I didn't even think the nurse or physician who checked my vitals knew what she was doing. She never checked me for the flu, and she said I sounded fine when she checked my lungs with her stethoscope (meanwhile, I could hear my own wheezing).
I called a few days later (on a Monday) because I still wasn't feeling better and wanted to see if I needed another course of the antiobiotic or a different antiobiotic, and nobody could help me. The doctor was out sick, and there was nobody else there who could do something as simple as phoning in a refill to the pharmacy. (I understand if the doctor is sick, but any doctor running her own practice should have at least some back up help for her clients.) I called multiple times, since I had to fly out of town the next day for work, and they paged the doctor but there was no response.
There is no way I would choose this doctor to be my main provider, and I've had better service at an urgent care clinic.
When I come in for my appointments I'm seen within 10 minutes of several of my appointment. The staff is always courteous and professional and I recommend this provider
By far the worse PCP I ve ever been to I had an infection and the practitioner that I seen didn t even check me out instead she gave me a referral to a surgical doctor and put me out of work for a week until I complained about how much sense that didn t make. During my visit I was asked inappropriate an inaccurate questions and I could obviously tell she had no knowledge in my line of illness. I will be contacting the board to file a malpractice complaint. Since I ve learned that I had an infection which was highly preventable had the practitioner took a look at my problem area. I m completely disappointed and mortified seeing as though in my previous years seeing Dr. Goldson herself was a pleasure.
Dr Goldson was very patient and knowledgeable in addressing all of my concerns. The PA and all of the support staff addressed All of my medical needs. It s worth every minute of wait time because she was thorough with my health issues.
I ve been coming to this office for 1.5 years now. My first impression was that the staff are a little disorganized and curt, but I decided to give them a chance, because I work in healthcare and I understand that it can be hectic. I m disappointed to say that my experiences with the physicians and staff here have not improved. The wait is always long, admin staff are rude and unhelpful, the online patient portal does not provide any useful information or resources, and my interactions with the physicians have been bland and disinterested. It s time to move on.
I would recommend Dr. Goldson-Prophete. I've recommended her to family and friends. I've never waited long to be checked in. When I had an emergency, she got me an appointment right away. Her staff was friendly. They filled out all of the paper work I sent in a timely fashion. Overall, I've had a good experience.
Wow. I wish I could give 0 stars. Today 02/24/2021 around 2pm I called to ask about a covid test and the receptionist was extremely rude unprovoked. I was polite but she was speaking to me like I was a child. It was uncalled for and just unprofessional. I would love an apology or explanation on why this happened. I ve been going here for years and it s unfortunate that I have to write this review but this isn t the first time.
TERRIBLE!!! I have been requesting my medical records from Doctor Goldson-Prophete and from her office since May, 2015 (over 1 year ago) and they tried to charge me $150 -- which violates New Jersey law. Then they stopped responding to my requests. I had to Complain to the Federal Civil Rights HIPPA Bureau just to HEAR from the doctor about receiving my medical records! Then the doctor wanted to charge me $100, even though all my records are kept and maintained in ELECTRONIC FORMAT! I asked the doctor to email or fax the records to me at a nominal cost, and Doctor Goldson-Prophete outright REFUSED to do so. She instead said she would send me an invoice for $100, and tried to get off the phone because she had a client to see.
The doctor FINALLY said she would give me access to my records via the patient electronic portal, so I can receive an electronic copy for free -- 19 months after I first requested the electronic records and after my Complaints to Federal Authorities. The doctor also said they would send my records to another doctor for free -- which begs the question: why can another doctor receive MY records for free, but you make the patient pay an exorbitant fee?!!! Clearly, the doctor is capable of providing the medical records for free, but she refuses to do so to her own clients. Speaks VOLUMES about the doctor's low level of patient consideration.
Doctor Goldson-Prophete also spends very little time with her patients and the doctor demanded to see me each and every month, just to refill a prescription that I have had for the last 10 years! Sounds like the doctor's office is just trying to get patients in each month just for routine refills. Is that even legal???
I would NOT recommend this practice even if they were the only doctors in New Jersey. So far, they did more HARM to me than good. The stress alone of trying to get my medical records for the last 19 months was tremendously damaging to my health and wellbeing, and Doctor Goldson-Prophete expressed very little, if any, concern for it. I thought she was great at first, but she and her office showed their true unprofessionalism and highly questionable conduct. I will NEVER visit that practice again.
I think that people only like to write poor reviews for people. When I moved to NJ I was searching for a Doctor. I found Dr. Goldson-pete's website. There I was able to understand that she is really serious about education and educating her patients. I setup my appointment. I had no wait time and I thought she was amazing. She is honest and she is able to get my husband to get full checkups. What more could you want? I really have had a very positive experience. I have been sick and have been able to get antibiotics to cure it from her.
I am writing to share my experience with Goldson Assoc. My wait time was a bit long but the staff and Dr Goldson addressed all my concerns.Over all my visit was very good and I would recommend Goldson Associates
I have been a patient of Dr. Goldson for many years. I found her to be detail oriented. She explains in such away that you can visualize what's occurring with your physical condition and the steps you can take to improve. She may prescribe a medication, encourage you to exercise or get on a weight loss regimen. And she freely offers other suggestions she feels may be beneficial to you or others. My insurance has changed and I now see Melanie, PA. I have found Melanie to be equally qualified! If there's something she's not sure about she'll confer with Dr. Goldson
Dr. Goldson has a very harsh beside manner. She can be very rude at times and does not pay enough time and attention to her patients. I had a hospital visit on Sunday and was given necessary meds. I had a follow-up visit with Dr. Goldson on Wednesday(yesterday). She provided asthma meds and told me to continue taking the medications the hospital provided. There was a problem at the pharmacy with the asthma medication that she prescribed and the pharmacy called her on Thursday(today) to correct the issue.
Later during the day I realized I was still getting worse from my original visit to the hospital. My medications from the hospital were low and without more I might end up back at the hospital TONIGHT.
I have spoken to her office at 4:30 Pm, 5:30Pm, 6:30 Pm, 7:45pm & 8:30 with her answering service.
4:30Pm & 5:30PM I was told she was in with patients.
6:30 PM I called the office back and gave a detailed account of what the problem was and my fear was the pharmacy would close before I was able to fill the prescription.
7:45 PM the office (not doctor) called back to say the doctor was not going to prescribe any medication because I (myself) just started taking the medication today. I informed the staff member that we are referencing two different medications and the importance of the medication. She said the doctor is in with her last patient and she will call you when she's done.
8:30 PM I called her office to get her answering service and no call from her.
I wasn't expecting the doctor to walk out of a patient visit to pick up my call however, I did expect a call and resolution before my pharmacy closed today.
I've seen both doctors in the practice so far, and have been very happy with their care. The staff is personable and professional and I've never waited too long to be seen. It's a pain to have to go in for a visit to discuss bloodwork, which is why I knocked off a star. Otherwise, I'm very happy to continue to be a patient here.
I love my doctor visits! My experience from reception to care to follow -up is professional, warm, efficient, effective and competent:-) Labwork? Efficient and easy. This is the best care since my pediatrician! <3
The doctors are fine although for the last 2 years it s difficult to get one. They rely on nurse practitioners. They have been fine also. The biggest complaint is the customer service. The receptionists are like calling a cable company. They keep you on hold and they are abrupt and rude. I will be looking for another practice. I m done!
I haven t seen the doctor in person so this review has nothing to do with bedside manner. Repeatedly been called by the receptionists to reschedule the appointment because the doctor either could not make it that day or had an emergency. I eventually just cancelled because it was the third time I was asked to reschedule. Also I wasn t allowed to see Dr. Goldson, because I m a new patient, I m only allowed to see the nurse practitioner...
I was sceptical going into this office based on the reviews, nevertheless I went . A month ago I went into the office to get a full physical and blood work done. There was never a follow up from the office of my results. When I called, I was told I needed to come into the office to go over my results because there were some concerns. I didn't understand why I wasn't notified sooner. Upon arrival of my 11am visit the review my results, I was'nt seen by the doctor until an hour later. This was my experience.
The office staff is friendly. Office wait is short and Dr Goldson is fanastic, she takes the time to discuss your health needs and answer any and all questions.
In this digital era you have no choice but to play the long game if you want to last as a practice/business. As a doctor you need to compartmentalize instead of projecting your personal issues onto patients and you cannot be toxic toward your own PATIENTS; that is contrary to that oath you took and it s simply not a decent way to behave for someone in your position. Dr Goldson seems knowledgeable but is rude, condescending, lacks compassion and clearly is a narcissist. How you do one thing is how you do everything. REALLY address the root of these inner demons, play the long game, do the right things in and out of the office and you will have a much more long term success.
They never answer the phone. If they do, they put you on hold forever! Front desk person has the worst attitude ever! I asked her long will the appointment time will be so I can plan around my work schedule and she said "what you mean? It's whatever you want to talk about!" She kept cutting me off when I was talking. After that, I gave up and told her I'll call back, she yelled "OK!"and hung up. Never dealt with a person so rude at a doctor's office. Extremely aggressive! LISTEN TO THE OTHER REIVEWS AND AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! There are other doctor offices out there that are well-mannered, professional, and actually wants to be at their job. I would never recommend this place to anybody.
My issue is being asked to hold but the staff not waiting for an actual answer, then being kept on hold for longer than 8 minutes. I do like the doctor though.
Do not go to her. I went for my annual exam and she asked me a question apparently outside the realm of an annual exam and because I answered it they charged me an additional $25. Because my visit went outside the realm of a regular annual.
Then I called a few weeks later because I had a UTI and was hoping she could call in a script for me. The nurse said she wouldn t call in a script for me unless I saw her and wasn t available to be seen and did not take walk ins. So I said to them basically you are saying you won t give me a script unless I m seen and you won t see me. So I m just supposed to suffer. And there response was well those are her rules. What a horrible doctor! This place is dead to me.
This review doesn t include a review of the doctor herself because after a 45 minute wait I never saw her. I did hear every word of her consultation with a patient through the paper thin walls. This was by far the most disappointing doctors office experience I ve ever had. I went as a new patient (arrived early as requested) and was totally ignored by the receptionist. She glanced at me and proceeded to continue her other conversation. I assumed that s how things are done here, new patients are low priority. During my 45 minute wait two people that arrived well after me were taken to the exam rooms before me. I spoke up about this and was told that I m seeing another doctor (I m new so I never specified a doctor...). I finally get to the room and the nurse asks me if i want to give her my weight and seemed to have trouble walking through the typical intake processes. This combined with being able to hear EVERY word of the consult next door was too much. I left, would not recommend.
First the line is constantly busy signal in 2017 (so silly) Then when the line finally rings their receptionist answers and immediately puts you on hold (thank god im not dying) after 10 mins she answers. This is before you even see a dr. I'm just trying to make an appointment. The receptionist confirms it's always busy like this so I made a decesion to choose another PC.
It shouldn't be so difficult to make an appointment.
I Guess Everyone's Treated different, I've been coming to This doctor for years Now. Staff is friendly doctor Seems To be ok but I have had better. I feel like I am being rushed out when I make an appointment for a concern. One time I was Ask how did you find me!? And I have been trying to figure that out every sense. I have been searching for a better doctor. Just don't want to rush into another doctor who does same
I am a patient of a PA she is really great but Dr. Goldson have an derogatory attitude with the patients which are using medicated an her did not work with that ensure.
It is unfortunate that I have to write this review but I must. I arrived at my 3pm appointment on time and noticed there was a patient waiting to be seen and a older gentleman who appeared to be frustrated while dealing with the front desk receptionist, I would soon learn why. Another patient entered about two minutes after me and then another. We all huddled into the waiting room area, while trying to practice social distancing. I wondered to myself why would so many patients be booked at the same time on a Friday afternoon. Once the older gentleman was done, I waited for the receptionist to call me up to the partially ajar window. Her computer is set up so that she doesn't have to make much eye contact with patients and the world or maybe she was using her computer as a social distance barrier. That alone was off putting, but I digress. I continued to wait for 5 minutes and she never called me. I could tell the woman behind me was annoyed that I wasn't more assertive, but I try to be respectful in tense working environments especially with Covid and all. A nurse noticed that I was waiting and asked me if I were checking in, to which I said yes. During this time, the receptionist still didn't acknowledge me. Finally, I walked up to the ajar window and asked "are you ready for me". I told her I was a new patient. Receptionist: Name, D.O.B. ? I gave her the information to which she responded very bluntly " Your appointment is for tomorrow at 3pm" I told her that couldn't be correct because I scheduled it on Zocdoc and the alert was sent to my phone. I showed her the calendar invite. As the nurse practitioner walks in to fax some documents the receptionist says "_____ this new system is messing things up. This one right here has an appointment that just showed up" I contemplated going off at the "this one here" comment but I didn't. The receptionist is blatantly rude. The nurse practitioner is even worse and said "It's 3:19pm and I already have 2 patients and it's Friday I'm not taking any more. You need to tell ____ to handle this" I have never experienced that level of treatment in a doctor's office. Unprofessionalism at it's best. The receptionist then went on to tell me that she could reschedule me for Saturday I thought maybe it would be for the next day but she told me it would be for the following Saturday. At that point I decided to leave and never turn back. If you're looking for a terrible experience, I would definitely recommend this doctor's office. I sincerely hope that the receptionist receives the professional development needed to thrive in the medical profession.
Very knowledgeable and understanding doctor. Took the time to listen to all of my complaints and goals for my health. She has a very holistic approach where she likes to determine the root cause of a problem before rushing to extreme measures, such as surgery. Office staff is very kind and professional.
I love Dr Goldson I really believe in her concern for her patients I'm so happy my friend started me going to her I'm confident that what ever the problem she got it also the other Drs there r great too I'm great with them yea for me
She has been my doctor since 2009, some of these reviews are ridiculous. Oh i came in and they didn t worship the ground i walked on , give me a damn break!. This woman is the best doctor i have ever had. Everyone in this office is great, of course they are times when they super busy, as far as people who complaints about not seeing the doctor; when you call say you want to see her! Not the other doctor, or the PA! Her specifically. God help me if i ever move out of jersey and having to find a new doctor.
I don't know how anyone has nice things to say about this doctor and her staff. I'm extremely disappointed in her care toward me as a patient and highly upset to how she handles billing. First of all she doesn't take time to give you a thorough physical and then when she is finished she just leaves the room without any communication. Talk about people skills! I went to her because she was local and easy to get an appointment with to get a check up for my medical records for school but what should have been a fully covered visit with my insurance turned in to a $200 bill. This doctor and her staff's negligence is beyond pathetic. A simple check to make sure they were sending my blood work to a lab within my network or sending me to the lab with a prescription would have done the job. Just laziness and a lack of care. Consider yourself warned! DON'T USE THIS DOCTOR!
I've been a patient for 4+ years, and services have definitely declined. Dr. Goldson has the right idea in mind in expanding her practice; however might I suggest she start with communication as a necessary skill and decide on the most effective way exercise this skill (i.e. verbally, or electronically). Communication is a skill that is lacking among the staff and Dr. Goldson's practice. A staff is representative of the doctor and her practice; therefore personal appearance should be professional, followed by knowing how to interact with the patients, i.e. basic introduction of who you are when checking my vitals is helpful. Having a staff member come into the room to inform me that the doctor I came in to see will be with me shortly, is helpful. (Last experience, after waiting for 20 minutes, I left the room to find out what the delay was when I was told the Physician's Asst who was supposed to see me would be with me soon. About 15 minutes passed by and I asked again how much longer it would be, I was told I would have to wait an hour). Are you kidding me??? I left. Most often whenever I pay a copay, a bill finds its way to my mailbox, despite having a receipt. It would be especially nice to make an appointment without being on hold for 13 minutes just to ask my name and place me on hold AGAIN. Based on the hours listed (and 45 minutes to spare), I called today, just to get a message saying the office is closed.
Front desk staff is extremely rude!! They never pick up the phone and when they do they immediately put you on hold. I called the other day to make an appt. they claim they're only doing virtual visits at this time. I say that's fine. She checks my chart and says oh but you're not due for your physical until July. I say I'm having chest pain and would like to schedule an appt for an ekg. She proceeds to tell me to go to the hospital. Smh. Dr Goldson you should def invest in better representation of your practice.
Dr. Goldson herself is EXCELLENT. Even in this era of electronic medical records and the need to document as one is in the presence of the patient, she still takes the time to make eye contact, touch and listen. Very rare qualities to find these days; and, very well carried out. I just got off the phone with her front desk person; this was a much better executed interaction. Kudos! Keep up the good work Dr. Goldson and team!
I have worked in the healthcare field for over 3 decades so I usually give physician practices some leeway however, this time -- I cannot. I always make sure I aririve 15-20 minutes before my appointment time--especially, since this office will send you two text reminders and a live reminder call. However, I was placed in an exam room. Then, the MA took me to a cramped multi purpose back room where a scale is tucked in the corner to weigh you in while another person was there. Then, the MA took me back to the exam room to take my vitals and she hears another employee call her name out loud in the hallway and stood their hiding in the exam room until --all the while making comments as to why this individual was calling her stating that she's roomed too many patients already! She waits at least ten minutes before stating the doctor will be right with you before she exits. However, after waiting in the exam room 1 HOUR AND TWNETY MINUTES --THE DOCTOR NEVER CAME IN!! I decided to walk to the front desk and told informed the receptionist that I have waited an hour and twenty minutes and I would just like my copay credited. The receptionist inquires "the doctor has not seen you yet?" I replied No, she hasn't and it's a shame that after her patients arrive on time--she makes them wait for over an hour --without anyone communicating to patients about delays--- without a word being spoken. She then calls the doctor via phone and advised that "another patient wants to leave!" The doctor then comes out of a room and the only thing she says is "I guess I'll see you another time. Sorry you had to wait!" I was absolutely astonished for the lack of empathy she displayed for her patient's time. I informed the receptionist that I wanted a copy of my records and I AM TRANSFERING MY CARE TO ANOTHER PHYSICIAN! As I said earlier, working in the healthcare field for almost 30 years, this office did EVERYTHING WRONG!! I had been coming to this office almost two years --in the beginning, they were better but have just gone downhill this past year--their customer service is horrible, lack of access in getting through the phones to speak to someone or even get an appointment. I had labs done with some of my lab numbers elevated--glucose, etc. yet, no one ever called me!! I told the receptionist that I had to get a copy of the blood work myself from Labcorp because I couldn't get through to schedule a follow up appointment until now. Her response--" well, you work in the healthcare field, so I would have just pulled one of the doctors to review my results!!" I am just infuriated with the lack of customer service, patient follow through, lack of access and most importantly--the lack of empathy that this office has towards its patients. I have transferred my care to another provider!!
My most recent visit to Dr. Goldson's office was consistent with the prior 4 years. The doctor is terrific; thorough, professional and kind. My wait was 5 minutes, and my annual physical was handled by Dr. Goldson and her very competent nurses and techs very efficiently. Everyone was personable and I felt as though the time I was given was more than sufficient.
I appreciated Dr. Goldson-Propehete's experience and honesty. However, when I had an important follow-up conversation it took weeks for a return call. Her staff, actually only one specific woman, was very impatient and rude with me. Again, the doctor is great but not as available as I needed. I hope to continue to seek her medical advice in the future when she is more available.
I have an extremely complicated medical picture, and have had more Internists over the years than I can count. I rely on Dr. Goldson's expertise, direction, common sense and information/explanations. I've gotten the best care here than I've ever received anywhere else- she helps me navigate a very complicated chronic illness and keeps me together. Simply the best.
My set of experiences have been positive. Sometimes there is a wait to see the doctor, but I have always been treated professionally and with kindness.
Worse doctor ever. Do not waste your time and money to go here. Dr is very rude and doesn t know how to behave professional. She shouldn t b called dr she should be call gal. Black is always a waste of time. Do not go here you will regret it. Thank you
My partner and I went there for our annual visit on the same day. I went to Dr. Goldson who was okay. She wasn't very warm, but I could deal with it. My partner did her physical with the PA who was EXCELLENT. As a result, I decided to go with her for my follow up. I rate them a one because the front desk staff there is very rude and abrupt. Sadly, I chose not to write a review about them until today. Today makes 2.5 months since our visit with them but those women are still rude and miserable. I called to inquire about a copay that they should not have charged me, and the girl was rude, dismissive, argumentative, cut me off while I was speak then just put me on hold mid conversation. She then must've asked her colleague to speak to me and when I asked for a manager she told "they do not have one" I then asked who they report to and she said no one. I then asked do you report to the Doctor and she said yes. She then proceeded to say she can only take a message she cannot speak on the phone. By this time, I could hear the irritation in her voice as her tone became a bit escalated. I asked for the billing person. She said they did not have one and I explained someone reached out to me about a bill. She told me look on the bill for the number. Although the most enjoyable experience was with the PA and the phlebotomist. Both my partner and I will find a new PCP. The staff there was since day one was rude on the phone and when I interacted with them during my visit. We thought maybe they were just having an off day but almost 3 months later and to receive the same barely mediocre service. They act like anything you ask them is a huge feat. We will take our healthcare and insurance elsewhere.
Phenomenal doctor's office. Dr. Deborah Goldson-Prophete and her staff are outstanding. Staff is great about working around my schedule as a single parent. All staff members are friendly, courteous and extremely professional. Doctor is knowledgeable, always concerned, extremely accommodating. Dr. Goldson-Prophete and her staff treats me with the utmost care while maintain a very efficient office. I suffered from very painful chronic migraines. Dr. Goldson didn't let up until she find the exact source of my migraines. Her staff immediately would come in the patient room and close curtains and do whatever needed be to make me comfortable.
Dr. Goldson is Awesome! She is very attentive and informative! The only issue is her front desk staff is unpleasant and unprofessional. It s unfortunate for Dr Goldson that she has provided opportunities to young black women and they are unappreciative and not pleasant. Your receptionist sets the tone for your visit.
I am not a fan of turning to the internet to spoke badly about someone. I have really tried to give this office a chance and even made the mistake of referring my dear parents to this practice. The office is kind but that is the only reason i give 1 star to say the least I regret ever going to this office for reasons I prefer not get into detail on line.
I have been going to Dr. Goldson since 2010 and have not had any issues. She has taken time on several occassions to thoroughly explain things to me and her staff has always been very friendly. I was referred to her by a coworker and I have referred several other coworkers to her. I have never gotten any complaints about her. As far as I'm concerned, she is a great doctor and I will continue to refer her to my friends and family.
Dr. Goldson is extremely knowledgable and attentive. She has really great bedside manner, and even though there was a bit of a wait, I totally understood why and forgot about it once I was face to face with her. She doesn't rush appointments and above all she listens to her patients and really keeps drilling down on what's going on so she can solve it.
I give a 5 star because Dr. Goldson is an excellent doctor. Always straight up no sugar coating nothing and will refer you to the best doctors. But her staff has been really unprofessional lately when I call they put you on hold immediately and make you hold for at least 10-18 minutes before someone picks up and sometimes they don t you gotta keep calling back. Called one day only to keep getting put on hold for a total of 1 hour now I gotta go up there when I get off of work because they are clearly not doing their job up front. So disappointed and I will be letting Dr. Goldson know how I feel when I visit again
I have been here a few times since it's across the street from my apartment and I am young healthy woman without any major medical issues. I have came here a few times over the past 2 1/2 years and every time has been HORRIBLE. Everytime I have come here, I have waited in the waiting room for over an hour and at least an additional 20 minutes once put inside a room. I have come 2 times for a physical, each experience has been terrible. Another time I called to get a steroid shot for an allergic reaction I was having. After waiting for 2 hours, when I finally saw a doctor she said they didn't have shots and I would have to go somewhere else. Don't bother coming here.
I went in for a physical with Dr Goldston which was a very difficult appt to get about two months ago. I called today to find out where are my test results. They informed me that she is on vacation and NO ONE including Dr Goldson has yet to review them. Completely unprofessional and irresponsible for a physician. She is suppose to call me upon her return from vacation...let's see if she does? Then second and more importantly hope that there are no bad results. Update....Now two weeks later and they still have not sent or called me with results. Apparently this doctor do not speak to patience over the phone for any reason. I suggestion everyone to stay away from this doctor.
I have to say I really tried with this office. One word to describe them: impersonable and greedy. Every time I called for simple tasks such as an appointment, I would be on hold for at least 20 minutes. They do not ask to put you on hold. They just put you on hold before you get a chance to say yes . When I wanted the results for lab work, they said I would need an office visit even if the results are normal (greedy) when I ask if I can come in before my physical to get lab work and have it reviewed, they stated that it would need to pay a co pay (never done that with my insurance for lab work). When I told them if they can mail me the results, they gave me such a difficult time! I gave up on getting lab work results. From now on, I will be going elsewhere. AVOID THIS OFFICE!
They will just do what they need to do to get you in the door. They wouldn't even freeze off a wart. Made me go to a specialist with a referral ... Wasted co-pay and delectable payment.
Edit: The regular front desk girl is RUDE. Also, if it can be handled over the counter, why cant it be handled at the doctor? Every doctor I ve ever seen has liquid nitrogen on hand. Perhaps ask your patients why they're coming in when they make an appointment.
Dr. Debra Goldson-Prophete is a very knowledgeable and down to earth person and doctor. I have always felt that I can have a conversation with her beyond the physical symptoms. This is a great skill for a doctor to have in this day and age as we have learned that treating and curing diseases go deeper than identifying symptoms, making a diagnosis and prescribing drugs.
I have been looking for a doctor to fully check me. To find what was the issue and that can talk too. Dr. Prophet is all that you are looking for. She explains everything in details and make sure You understand before leaving the office. The staff is friendly and very attentive. When I walk in they know who you are. To top it off no long waiting period. I'm never there no more than 30/45 mins. The office is clean, smells good, and she keeps jazz playing. Not my kind of music but it relaxes you. I wouldn't change anythig about her or I would not change her from my doctor. My whole family goes to her. If u are looking for a good doctor she is the doctor to get. It's because of her that my health is gettin back to where it should be. #mydoctorisbetterthanyours.
The doctor herself is quite terrible. I go to the assistant instead. Doctor once told me something regarding my health status then when I went back, she changed up and told me something completely different, and said that she never said what she told me last time. Yikes. Only reason this doesn t have 1 star is because of the assistant who does her job and is kind. I will be going to her for now on until I find another Doctor. Every one bar the PA is quite cold and off-putting.
I am new to N.J. - recently moved from NYC. I ve been going through a lot and needed to find a doctor that genuinely cares about people and not treated like a number. The PA that have worked with me so far have been nothing short of extraordinary. Thank you for showing me that your patients matter
Absolutely terrible experience. She talks to me like I am bothering her. Very dry personality and just speeds through our visit. I never feel comfortable asking questions because she's so rude about it. There is no way I can have a dr that behaves this way. I would think compassion & patience is dr 101. I really do not think this lady cares if I live or die.
I also had an appt for 1:30 and did not see the dr until after 3:30. It was my 3month follow up and she didn't even know why I was there. She began reading off test results from tests done 3months ago with no regard. With some of the results I didn't understand why I was getting them 3months after the fact. She really does NOT care! It's written all over her! I don't even think during my visit if she even looked at me. Just bizarre!
I can say that with the other nurses I have had a good experience. They are patient, personable and kind. Once I find another dr I am out of there!
As much as I appreciate this doctor and that she is busy, every time I need a prescription filled my pharmacist can not get in touch with her and when I call the receptionist is always hanging up the call without any warning. I leave messages and they are never returned. Not having my prescriptions filled is quite dangerous because I have Type 2 diabetes. She needs to get a better staff or take less clients to have time for her patients.
