Highlight of recent trip to Denver. Beef on bun was packed with smokey flavor beef and was enjoyed as I drove accross Missouri! I will have to find a reason to return to Kansas city soon to stop at Arthur Bryants again
Very good BBQ and large portions. We had to wait in line for about half an hour but when it was finally our turn to order the staff was very helpful and friendly. They were out of ribs so go early.
This was on a list of places to visit on a cross country motorcycle trip. It was some of the best barbeque I've ever had.
Food was hot, service was fast and employees friendly
Very friendly. Nice buzzy crowd. Had the burnt ends and sausage, wanted ribs but they were out by 2pm. Burnt ends could have been a little more tende, but nice flavor.
Very good food. The Presidents Choice. Always has been and always will be.
Went there today I know the workers were stressed from all the orders but they were nice and had a good attitude the entire time you guys have the best food in this city thank you for all you do for us customers I know you work real hard for us
If your a bbq freak this place should be on your bucket list. Lots of history and hasent changed in 50 years or more. Not my favorite anymore but you have to try it.
Believe the hype. It is good fast BBQ that has had a lot of high profile customers.
Very so-so BBQ, had burnt ends and pulled pork. Fries were soggy. Floors were filthy/slimy. Do they mop the floors with grease. Had to prop myself up against a wall to use the men's bathroom because my feet kept sliding out from under me. Didn't really like any of their sauces.. Too bad we took the time to visit this place.
Ribs = meat candy. Fries better than the onion rings.
Oh my goodness, the brisket is phenomenal. HUGE portions. So glad we took the time to try it while in town.
This place is an amazing kc experience if anything. Amazing paper wrapped bbq.
Best BBQ in town, friendly staff, and big portions. For these prices you can't get better BBQ anywhere! Me and my ol lady love AB's
Good food, generous servicings. Layed back and comfortable.
Cool atmosphere and great sauces.. HUGE portions and nice smokey brisket. Not the best, but certainly worth trying.
Came all the way from St.louis to try another "famous "bbq....well the gas station food was better ..not seasoned ..over priced. Sweet tea tasted like pure water .. ...I actually threw up afterwards This place has to be famous for the baked beans they were top notch..being born in Memphis raised in St.louis ..I'm sorry this was not ......my Husband ate only two bites . .to each his own I guess
My favorite barbecue place in the world! A must visit for foodies in KC
For me, this place deserves 5 stars.!! Authentic food, cosy place, friendly environment and courteous staff. Overall experience was wonderful.
Jan 2, 2017. I ate at Arthur's years ago and it was pretty good. Passing through KC today and thought we'd stop for lunch. I had high expectations from the looks of the meat being handled behind the window. After a bite or two, we were sorry we hadn't continued on to the hot dog and chili joint not far away!
Husband ordered a meat plate, 1 pound of any meat. Beef Brisket and pulled pork were his choices. Brisket was presented with no sauce, although it was in dire need of. Extremely dry, shoe leather style. His pulled pork was very shredded, soppy with sauce. Sauce did not help it, really couldn't taste anything except the sauce.
My son ordered a Burnt Ends plate, the ends were also sloppy with sauce. Not tasty at all, his fries were obviously the bottom of the barrel fries. Tiny burned pieces and the rest were soggy. Not seasoned at all. No salt. Cold to boot.
My daughter ordered the half smoked chicken and fries. The chicken, at least the dark meat, was fairly decent. Smoked well, tasted pretty good, still moist enough to eat. The poor breast meat was smoked into a dry, sawdust texture. Not good. Her fries were of the same batch. Soggy, not warm and not seasoned.
The employers were not particularly attentive or friendly. Not the worst lunch we have ever eaten, but we certainly won't be back!
Know what you want before you get to the counter. Worth going out of your way for.
Arthur Bryant s is a staple of Kansas City BBQ. It s been a place that you can t miss as a tourists, especially if you want to experience why our local BBQ is world renown.
As a KC naive, I go about every six months when family or friends are in town. Upon my most recent visit with some friends from Florida, I was utterly embarrassed about the service. My wife ordered ribs and the man behind the counter very rudely told her they were out. I wasn t a huge fan of the way he talked to my wife but no problem, I thought to myself. Maybe he was having a bad day. My wife proceeded to order something else on the menu. The man behind the counter barked back at her saying they ve been out of that for hours and if she would have been paying attention to the person ordering in front of her, she would have known that.
My wife and I were both shocked that he would talk to anyone like that, much less a customer. It was embarrassing to be treated like that in front of our friends and embarrassing to speak so highly of a place (as we were driving there) only to be treated like that.
The reason I m still giving them three starts is because Arthur Bryant is a KC tradition and I really, really want to give them the benefit of a doubt. I hope our latest experience there was an anomaly but it might be smart to prepare for some attitude as you deal with the staff.
By far the most bang for your buck when it comes to KC BBQ.
If you walk out of here hungry...there is something wrong with you. DELICIOUS.
Great sauces and sides ribs pretty good tender brisket
Great bbq. For the price, get a quality bbq and more than enough to eat. The sweet tea is a must.
I went into Arthur Bryant's with high expectations. Maybe that was part of the problem. I had been told that it was a well-known BBQ establishment, one that was renowned in KC. Being from the Kansas City area, I was excited to finally understand what was described as a "must experience" BBQ restaurant for travelers. I certainly hope visitors don't base their opinions about KC BBQ on this restaurant. Upon first entering the restaurant, I was a little disappointed with the atmosphere. It looked like any other small town restaurant with a greasy diner feel. Nothing like the sit down, classy BBQ joint I was expecting. So the atmosphere wasn t great, but I was willing to overlook that. Upon reaching the counter area to place my order, I was shocked at just how rude the workers were. I understand that working in a greasy restaurant is not the ideal situation, but that does not justify how impatient the workers were when it took me a few seconds to catch on to the cafeteria style ordering system. Some advice: grab a plate and silverware when you first get to the counter, speak loudly, and lose all expectations of class and courtesy when dealing with the men who take your order. It will make things a lot less irritating. As for the food itself, the experience just got worse. I ordered the pork-pulled open face sandwich with fries (about $10). Upon first glance, the plate looked delicious: generous heapings of juicy pulled pork smothered in BBQ sauce on top of white bread, a pile of fries on the side. The fairytale ended with my first bite. Maybe I have been desensitized to the wonders of average BBQ. After all, living in the KC area has exposed me to a variety of BBQ, from Jack Stack to The Branding Iron in my home town. Whatever the case, the overly tangy, spicy flavor that came with that bite was a disgrace to the sweet, rich flavor that BBQ should have. Bite after bite, I wasted calories on false hope that my first impression would be proved wrong. Even with the choices of sauce on the table, the sandwich did not improve. The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I left the restaurant with the waitress cleaning off my table after I had just stood up, with no attempt to let me at least leave the vicinity before swooping in. Hardly the farewell I had hoped for, but one I expected at that point. I am not a picky eater by any means, so my dislike of what should have been a delicious meal was shocking even to me. If the workers had made the effort to show even a small amount of common courtesy to a paying customer, I may be able to give this restaurant another star. What it all comes down to is the fact that a meal should be an experience. The atmosphere, the people, the food. This is something that Arthur Bryant s would do well to learn. Arthur Bryant s, you have potential. Now live up to the expectations of BBQ lovers and represent Kansas City better.
The service was awesome the food was a very high quality hot and fresh the young gentleman that assisted us his name was Isaac customer service skills were off the chart he was a rockstar he nailed it can't say enough about the place
A ways Great every time and they do have coleslaw. It was ok that One Big Ass Mistake America. Didn't get it.
Tons and tons of food for a good price. I've never had a larger brisket sandwich in my life. The beef was phenomenal. It had just the right amount of fat and a great smoky flavor. The sauce was not my favorite in the world, but it was definitely good. I especially liked the spicier sauce.
Absolutely delicious food, great atmosphere, and fantastic service.
This place is the real deal! Real BBQ. The food is excellent. Best BBQ in Kansas City.
If the 'Q weren't so good, it might be like a time machine back into the 50s or 60s. You can almost hear the Athletics playing Detroit or maybe Cleveland or even those Damn Yankees down the street at Municipal. Time in and time out, best brisket time and again.
My hometown favorite BBQ. Had to stop in during a visit back home.
Not a fan of the food but went there for someone else. The service was horrible and they were out of almost everything with almost 2 hours of business left. When we got our food the fries were cold. Also we asked for large sides and got individual size containers. Just a bad experience all around.
Hands down the best BBQ place in Kansas City. Make sure you go to this location off Brooklyn not the legends one, it's terrible. Burnt ends are unbeatable. Usually go before or after Chiefs games, love the food!
I get tired of people who don t know barbecue how is anyone gonna put Q39 in the sentence and AB s!!!!!! ENOUGH SAID!!! Que here is Guuuuuddddd!!!!!
I went there a month ago and my mind exploded with greatness
We were passing through Kansas City and had to try this place after having heard so much about it. Had the combo sandwich with short ribs and burnt ends. The ribs were a little dry, but the burnt ends sandwich is the best we've ever had. We tried the rich and spicy sauce too, but the original sauce is better. Took a side of coleslaw which was really good too. If you're in Kansas City for any reason, don't miss going to this place.
Bryant's Beef and Fries...just can't go wrong. Have them slather on their sauce directly to the sandwich . Nothing better than their hot fresh fries and that original sauce. It has always been my KC favorite. Just classic.
True K.C. barbeque. No other sauce in the world like Bryant's. Nearly always a wait at lunchtime.
Babyback Ribs were awesome
And they just have the right amount of tenderness and cooked to perfection.
100% sassy ribs
Been eating there since I was a kid my grandfather used to bring that food home all the time still have lost their touch
I had high hopes by reviews but it was not good at all.
You expect a certain level of rudeness with every trip to Arthur Bryant's. Tonight's was beyond ridiculous, arguing with the cashier on the number of drinks and of what flavor. They were sold out of their best meal, the smoked turkey, which is a good sign of business. Unfortunately, their next best meals weren't worth getting. The pulled pork was tasteless and the brisket was extremely dry. As a staple of KC barbeque, this was a disappointment tonight.
one of the best places for barbeque. The sauce is unique and the food is awesome!
Our party left full and satisfied, great tender, tasty meat from the Brisket sandwich to Baby Back Ribs. The fries were some of the best we've had.most fun of all was all the photos and memroibilia on the walls.
All time restaurant legend. Great food. Great portions. A must visit for BBQ enthusiasts.
It seems like their portions have shrunk recently. You used to be able to count on a good portion. Ordered turkey and I might have gotten 6 small slices. The young guy that helped me seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. The food was very good though.
Stopped into town and was recommended to go here for some great BBQ. Food was excellent. Little snafu while ordering but overall I'd definitely recommend.
The food was good and that was my first eating there
The best BBQ in KC. The master choice on the menu is the Beef & Sausage. Just order that and let things sink in- you ll be in for a BBQ Master Class.
Nice people good food
Horrible sauce
Standard old school bbq joint. BBQ wasnt mind blowing, but it was close to the best Ive ever had. Nice restaurant with great food and a little history.
I must have my turkey sandwich every week. Bryant's has the BEST TURKEY in KC. That's the truth and nothing but the truth!
Awesome bbq, the sausage is surprisingly really good. pork ribs delicious. And some of the best baked beans I've ever had.
Best KC bbq hands down. There are newer, fancier, more gimmicky places, but if you're new to KC bbq, this should definitely be your first stop. Burnt ends and ribs are ther best. Be ready to yell your order through greasy glass, it's just part of good bbq!
This is a must stop if you are ever in KC. Outstanding BBQ!
