Their food always hot and portions are good sized. We get take out from there all the time

Went for dinner tonight with my partner. Wonton soup was served cold. Entrees were not bad, not specially tasty just okay. But the real issue was there was an animal tip towing on the ceiling above, you could hear it had gotten in some how and was stuck on the panels above and was running around. The waiter heard it and apologized and said it was a racoon. But either way very uncomfortable experience as we had no way of knowing if it was a rat or what it was. I think if it was a racoon it would of fallen as they are too heavy for the plastic tiles.

I suspect it was some type of rodent. Either way very upsetting as it got inside the restaurant very easily and the young gentleman who might of been the owner's son didn't seem to be especially surprised. Will not be returning and kinda wish I've gotten my money and meal back to be honest!

Sadly I have been ordering from here for years. But my last few orders require one or two calls to find out where the order is and waiting couple hours. Tonight was over 2 hours and 2 calls..then they say my order has been sitting under heat lamp and wanted to deliver it. Likely it had been sitting for at least 90 minutes. I said no thanks to food sitting around. Now looking for a new restaurant to order chinese food from.

Got the food and you could tell just by seeing it that it was reheated atleast 3 times. Very soggy and clumped together

Cheap and cheerful Chinese food that really hits the spot. Generous portions. A dinner for two feeds me for 3 days! Always try and make the trip here when I come into town to work.

We recently moved to the area and ordered twice from this place, the first time the food was mediocre and we thought perhaps it was just a one time we ordered a second time and the result was even worse.

Very bad food quality and very poor taste, very dissapointed. Not ordering from here again.

Pretty bland. Don't bother with the house special chow mein. Steamed noodles, no sauce of any kind & a small amount of dry chicken, pork & a few shrimp on top.
Nothing special about it.

Best Chinese food in lower mainland. Always consistent and always delicious. Very reasonably priced. We've tried a number of places near to us and we still make the drive from langley to golden lion each time!!! Can't get enough

Food is great! But changing my review to 1 star because your pick up service is going downhill 100%!
Close to 1 hour wait for pick up?!?! You say 35 minutes and you take almost an hour??? And having people there waiting?? Unacceptable! You are always slow on pick up, but this time you took it to another level!
Every time we order the food is great. We haven't done the dining in yet but if the food is that good as a pick up, I see no reason that it will be bad inside. 5 stars easily!

Very impressed with this restaurant. The lady behind the counter was very kind. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I don't know how this restaurant survives. I have been eating chinese food for over 50 years. I have had some great food, and some bad, but nothing as bad as the food in this restaurant. No flavor, greasy and very very plain.
The chow mein - nothing in it for flavor, no color and very greasy. It was topped with a few pieces of very dry chicken that tasted like shoe leather. The sweet and sour was just barely ok. Goopy with a whole lot of little pieces of batter, hard to find the pork. The egg foo Yung was the worst by far we have ever had. Some scrambled egg with bean sprouts. Absolutely no flavor and no sauce.
Skip this place there are at least 20 better places around the area. In fact you would be better off walking across the street to Safeway and pickup some of their (sitting there for hours) chinese food, at least theirs has some flavor. Drive miles to avoid this place

Excellent. Been dining in and out of gear for years. Clean, fresh food.

Excellent service. Very friendly. Not fancy inside but food is consistently great.

Service staff is nice, however personally I did not enjoy the food as much as I have at other places. The plates here are big so I would recommend that you share them. The restaurant itself could also be cleaner, the washrooms were dirty and there was stuff stuck to the table.

We've been coming here for dine in and take out for almost 28 years. Connie is amazing, it's always a pleasure to see her. The egg rolls are the BEST anywhere, as is the chicken chow mein and mushroom fried rice....Yummmmm!!!!!

Good food. I highly recommend the sweet and sour pork. Service is nice, too.

Called at 2:40 pm to order dinner for pick-up at 6 pm. It's 6:38 pm and my father is still at the restaurant waiting for our order to be ready. Guess we won't be ordering from you again. The 10% off for take-out is a joke if you have to wait over 30 minutes for the food to be cooked, when you ordered HOURS in advance. And it's not like he can leave and go somewhere else because you made him pay for the order BEFORE even telling him that it isn't ready!

Food is tasty and delicious. I will come back again to get the combo on the menu.

I love this restaurant! I've been a very happy customer for more than 10 years. The food is excellent, and the service is equally great. The staff is very friendly, and they always make you feel welcome.

The one bad review that's posted below regarding wheelchair access seems a little ridiculous, I have a feeling that there was a language barrier that the reviewer was unwilling to overcome. And that his bad review stems from ignorance on his own part.

I love Golden Lion, the food and the staff are the best.

I love this resteraunt. They always provide the most excellent service and yummy food which is why I'm wondering what happened with my meal that was delivered last night. We ordered our usual , the Curry Beef which ended up to be a whole container full of onions with about 4 prices of beef. Then the Shangai noodles that were still white (usually they are dark brown with a grill taste) AND the deep friend prawns that were mooshy because they weren't fried long enough. I felt ripped off to be honest.

Terrible service after 15min. Went to bar asked if we good get served wonton came lukewarm. Took for ever to get our order every thing came like war but food was good just not hot. Will try once more so far not so good..

Take out order. I was told that it would be 1 hour to get my food. It actually took 2 hours and was cold. When I asked why it took so long they said nothing just told me to take my food and go. Extreamly unprofessional will not go back here.

I started coming, ordering delivery and pick up less than 3 months ago and I can t complain . I had one minor issue and it was resolved quick and diligently. Food is unbelievable tasty (been to tons of Chinese restaurants and so far this is my favourite) about the guys smoking at the back and grease some may claim for Pete s sakes most restaurants do so I wouldn t be blind by it although i hope it s not true in the event it was it should be corrected. Overal I recommend this place. I m very pleased by the food and friendly service.

Been going there 50 years. Still great food. Mainly go there because Connie is great and still works there. The place started as a house, then they built a big square building which later burned badly and was rebuilt into the current iteration which is a very similar building.

Best in the area. Always the go to when craving Cantonese.

We have been coming to Golden Lion for over 20 years. Best Local Chinese anywhere in all of Surrey. Family owned with real high Quality ingredients and great service. Will always eat here with all of my family and friends. Good take out too!!
