What a beautiful place, my fiance and daughter had such a great time, magnificent views, peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The service from reception to breakfast staff was amazing, they made us feel at home. Our one night stay wasn't enough, we definitely coming back before the year ends. Keep up the good work!

An absolute oasis. Staff are wonderful and certainly go the extra mile.
Accommodation extremely comfortable.
The animal sanctuary and the objectives of their conservation programme are most heartwarming.
The elephant feeding on a Sunday was a wonderful experience for all the family.

Accommodation - Average (blankets smelt really bad, very difficult to take a shower, there was no wall unit to hold the shower head up) Food was Average - lasagne had to much salt, sandwiches were good. Walk with the elephants was AMAZING. Overall service was pleasant.

Great Sunday afternoon drinks and light lunch stop off, let security know you are visiting the restaurant, but Glen Afric has so much more to offer, so on your second visit you can stay over at the lodge or just plan your day around this wonderful location.

Elephant feeding is normally at 2pm

Quite a nice peaceful setting where there is a guest lodge, other accommodation, plus pubs and bars for day public to have a drink and sundowners. Many movies, adverts and TV serieses are filmed here. Quite a bit of wildlife in the bush and clearly viewable including zebra, hippos, buck and one very tame and friendly giraffe.

I volunteered at the Lodge 2 years ago. It was a experience of a life time.

We didn t have much to do with the actual lodge, but we used the restaurant and bar. Both were really good. Very nice staff as well.

Their animal sanctuary is amazing. They have beautiful animals all over the place. This is an amazing place to take a vacation, but also to volunteer at.

Might come back one day!

Lovely place wild wild life that roams the place and lords over it. We saw zebra, ostrich elephants, kudu and an abundance of bird life. A real lovely place to away to for some R&R. The only thing that was not to my liking was the food. The restuarant needs some talent in that area to achieve 4 stars . We drove out on the Saturday for dinner rather than dine at Glen Afric. Staff are super friendly and efficient.

A real gem. Absolute must visit if you want good food. Beautiful views. Elephant, giraffe and many more animals to see in a safe friendly and well cared for environment. So relaxing and beautiful.

We are currently sitting in the dark here. What was suppose to be a fun Mom and daughter get away turns out to be quite a let down.
The swimming pool is a disaster. I specifically looked for a place with a pool.
The stable room is really not that great, considering what we're paying for it.
Then to top it all we are without electricity. No one bother to go around to the guests to apologize for the inconvenience. .

We arrived at glenafric to have a coffee with a view and then some lunch but were not made to feel very welcome. We had also wanted to do a tour of the house set but it was fully booked and you can't go near it unless you are on a tour. All in all we were not feeling relaxed or welcome so decided not to stay for lunch. Shame

Did a hike/run with Wild Africa Experiences here. It was particularly fun. Far away from the city and in nature. There are some elephants and you can see some lions as well. Perfect place to spend a Saturday morning.

They have a range of accommodation, so I cannot comment on the accommodation I did not see. However the room I stayed in only had bath. The room was tired, and needed attention. Probably unfair if me to rate it as 2 star. The staff were friendly, the waiter and food was good. Probably a venue for weddings and functions etc. So if you do go, I would recommend you check the other accommodation, it might be better.

What a disappointing stay after reading the rave reviews!

I chose the Rhodes Suite for a romantic weekend away :(
No view of the bush at all and NO HOT WATER and NO WATER PRESSURE ??? We had to go home to take a shower!

Further on the Saturday night when we returned from an early dinner the room service who kindly turned on the electric blanket left the door to our room ajar and open for R200 to go missing from my wallet???

Great views of Pelindaba Nuclear Research Center NOT from the restaurant Balcony - makes you really feel like you left the city behind ...Genius Architect

I was really very disappointed when we arrived at the room. It did not look close to the room they advertise on their website and is definitely not worth renting for the same amount of money. When asked if we could rather get a refund so that we could go to a proper place they did put me into the room they advertised on their website. The photos I uploaded is of their lodge suite.
The one thing we really did enjoy here was the sunset drive. The staff that took us out are really professional and the only reason I might drive back here again for another outing.

Incredible place, bring back all the memories of Wild at Heart on TV. The elephant encounter was out of this world. Three and her two "babies" are so beautiful and we'll mannered. Perfect end to out honeymoon. Thank you.

We really enjoyed ourselves. Very relaxing and great scenery for memorable pics. Restaurant staff friendly, warm and professional. Menu was limited I suppose due to covid. Love the hamburger sauce on my steak egg and chips order. Thank you for hosting us.

Stunning place but disappointed with the elephant walk.. Have done this several times before and even taken overseas guests there specifically for this. I understand covid has changed a lot of things but it was more of an upclose encounter in a small area than a walk this time. Price had also suddenly gone up by R30 pp but they did then charge us as per the website price. Restaurant staff not the friendliest but food was good.

What an interesting place, I ofteny visit it for the beautiful scenery and its hospitality. Meet Mr. John Brooker the boss,he is such a wonderful business man and humble. His son Richard is no different. I really adore property and its entire staff.

Such a beautiful little getaway in the nature slightly outside the city, amazing staff with quick and efficient service , tastiest food, great food specials(steak and brandy for R99 on selected days) and a beautiful atmosphere, live music and the owners are very interactive with the customers which makes the experience very personalized

We just went for the 30 minute elephant interaction and breakfast. A friend sponsored us. Wouldve liked to spend a bit more time with the ellies but still worth it if elephants happen to be your favourite animal. it was an enriching experience made even better by the friendly ranger Mel and the trainers. Brunch was delicious! Ostrich steak with chilli-chocolate sauce and sweet potato chips - main and dessert in 1! What more could a person ask for! All in all, a great experience

Awesome tour and tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She took pictures for us through the cages so we did not have those between us and the animals. Very classy dining facility as well. And the view from the lodge is spectacular.

It pains to write this review on one of my most favorite places in the world. We visited Sunday for the buffet and for the famous elephant feeding with friends. I've been raving and sharing pictures with them over the years of our visits to Glen Afriq and couldn't wait to finally share it with them. I wish I did not bring them at all! The dishes on the buffet was dismally lacking presentation and variety and taste. Secondly, complete lack of sanitation!! One guest after the other handling utensils with no sanitation in sight! I found at least one bottle of sanitizer in the ladies bathrooms. Luckily we had our own to sanitize with. Thirdly, the staff was unattentive and remained seated when we stood in front of the carvery station waiting to be served, seemingly off their feet tired as we got not even one friendly greeting or acknowledgment when we voiced our requests with a very slow rise to to something which it seems we're a massive chore. The waitress was completely untrained. We ordered drinks of the menu. She brings a different drink already opened and give it as the alternative... Being polite we felt we had to accept as she had already opened the drinks... A big no no in my eyes. I sat next to a massive spider web. Looking up a few glistened in the sun around the railings. The windows and glass doors were filthy and overall the gardens, ponds and restaurant was UNKEPT and dirty. For the prize charged on the bland food and dirt and all around, I will rate you as not worth what we paid or a return visit. At least Three and the youngsters were the highlight. However, owners and management of Glen Afriq, stop depending on their magic to draw people back to cover up awful food, rude and unattentive service in the filthiest surroundings. I will never be back. I did not notice one person of management to address this. I have full empathy that CoVid lockdown and the restrictions placed on the hospitality industry must have been beyond detrimental to your operations. I understand that finances must be tight to do the maintenance on the wooden decks etc. Yet, open your doors with friendly, knowledgeable staff and clean surroundings. That is not too much to ask if you charge for your hospitality services and products?
