Friendly staff. Warm reception. Atmosphere homely. Reasonably priced. Meals were served , well presented. Manager is visible and enquires about the service. We agreed we will go back again.

It's a very chilled place to dine at. I find it very small though, hence there is no space to hang around freely. I loved their spicy chicken livers! Would wish for the service to be faster. The waiters provide a very good service though. My veges were more boiled than roasted, I didn't like it.

First the good news: the steak is still excellent.

Unfortunately, the rest of the dining experience left a lot to be desired. Dirty tables on arrival, as well as one table being used by waiters for storing glasses and cutlery (later cleared).

The service was something you d expect to receive at lesser establishment - casual, bordering on flippant or rude.

Evening cut short by the distinct feeling we were being shepherded out the door...as well as the waiters yelling at one another and telling loud jokes for their own amusement.

What a shame that the new owners have allowed this proud Cape Town institution to get to this point.

Never ever ever ever had a bad meal at Hussar. Their food is always amazing, as is their service. One of the few places left in the world who does free corkage, thank you hussar! PS make sure you have a chocolate martini before you go, yum yum yum!

THE BEST Hussar Grill in Cape Town! Have eaten there twice and they never disappoint. The cosy vibe is perfect for a date or a couples date. The steak is always cooked to perfection.
We have eaten at Grandwest Hussar Grill and the food was not good at all. My butternut and spinach was hard and my medium steak was cooked to well done.

The Rondebosch brach is definitely quality and the service is top notch too!

Had a great meal for a friend's birthday. The original hussar grill. Top quality steaks and sides. The service was excellent and our waiter was engaging and attentative. We had the Hussar ice cream for desert which was amazing. Highly recommended
