Visited last night for the first time. Although the service was great and food was great that will be our first and last visit there. The owner Rob was extremely rude to the staff and I overheard him yelling on more than one occasion at his employees. Extremely unprofessional and rude.

This place is fantastic. I've been coming back as often as I can after my boyfriend and I first stumbled upon it in our neighborhood. The manager, Rob, is so awesome! I've had nearly everything on the menu now and not one item has disappointed. Don't forget they have half price bottles of wine on Monday's! :)

If you can....save room for the bread pudding. Seriously. You will thank me!

Convenient location on the south side, lots of free parking. Was quiet when we went in. Service was excellent and the food was quite good. I would definitely go back to try other options. My pasta was alright, but my girlfriend's meal was absolutely delicious.

This is a pleasant neighborhood gastro pub, however I feel their reach exceeds their grasp. They present their menu as a cross between casual and fine dining, but their actual food leaves much to be desired. I had their burger, which, though it was good, for the price and the attempt at more upscale dining experience lacked any thing to set it apart from more common dining experiences or even chain restaurants.

Food here is amazing. The owner obviously takes pride in what he does and it shows. The atmosphere is casual fine dining and has tv screens to watch sports. Also the seating is very comfortable. Great place to go with the family, friends, or a first date. Service has always been great and informative. The owner supports the community by donating gift cards for a large variety of events including sports teams and gay pride. This place is truly remarkable and everyone in. Edmonton should eat here at least once. Order a charcuterie board as an appetizer and you won't be disappointed.

One of my regular spots within a short drive from home. Once inside you forget you're in a strip mall and transport yourself to the ranks of upscale pubs as you'd expect in Manhattan not Edmonton. Menu is gastro-pub style and the daily specials usually include something spicy from the Asian-inspired chefs. A good wine list and friendly well-trained wait staff add to a pleasant meal out. Look forward to the patio in season although the interior decor is well-designed and inviting.

Fantastic atmosphere, professional and friendly waiter.

I had the burger, which is ground fresh, in house (no fillers) and ordered it medium rare. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had.

The missus tried the Mac and cheese with duck, which was also incredible.

Very extensive beer and wine list here as well. Highly recommend this place for dinner or late lunch.

We found hair in the Mac and Cheese. The manager did not address the situation to the customers. I do not know the perspective of the manager or what was going on but he yelled during two separate instances towards to the staff in front of customers. A $100 dinner for two should not be exposed to such inappropriate behavior and lack of customer service.

A first class establishment, with a tasty menu that can solve the need of a full meal or amazing snacks.
I love to have a quick peak at the menu via their website, just so I can narrow my decision when I am at the restaurant.

I simply want to share how much my wife and I enjoy the atmosphere and food at Glass Monkey. Rob and his staff are simply AMAZING. They are professional, kind and the food they serve is DELICIOUS!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. We shared appys and a meat and cheese board. The selection was perfect. The wine list is extensive. The staff were so attentive and professional yet very personal. The waitress even brought us over Champagne to help us celebrate. Overall a wonderful atmosphere and we will def be back! Thanks Glass Monkey!!

Great wine selection and super friendly staff. Great food. I ordered their lamb shank and it was so really good, lamb was juicy and had amazing flavors. Highly recommend this place.

Went there again on Wednesday and this time I had half price wings and ordered the Fish Entree. Totally enjoyed my food. Amazing experience. Staff is so friendly and polite makes you feel so welcomed at this place.

Everything here is amazing!! The menu has alot of selection and they always have unique feature dishes to choose from as well. Its a smaller restaurant with a more personal feel, they do have a patio too!! A great wine list is also a huge plus.

I've been here a few times now and I have to be honest. The place is improving from an already high-set bar. It is north american meets a few spices from India. The flavour profiles are delightful. We've tried many items on the menu. In my opinion grab the lamb dish of the night and you'll be in seventh food heaven. The other dishes will still get you into food heaven's gates.
Tonight there was no lamb. I still found found that would give lembas a run for its money. The butter chicken at The Glass Monkey just blew my mind. Why? Oddly the rice was the star of the dish. Jasmine rice so floral and bright with a hint of earthy as if jasmine, basmati, and jasmine flowers could co exist with lemon, salt, and butter to form perfection. The naan was better than Haweli's and the butter chicken itself was amazing.

I was very excited to try this place after hearing so much about it. I was, however, disappointed. While the ambiance and the service in the restaurant were both excellent, the food was nothing to write home about-- small in size and shockingly expensive. If I put down $75.00 for a meal for two, I want to leave either with a memory of an unforgettable dish or with a full belly, preferably both. After leaving the Glass Monkey I left hungry-- despite paying double what I usually do for a night out-- and with no "wow" experience.

That being said, their bread pudding is delicious.

Overall, I will not be coming back unless guests to my house like gastronomical things, small food portions, and high prices.

Absolutely love this special place in southish Edmonton - the hostess is incredible, servers friendly and not intrusive - always offer great suggestions. We leave full and happy - can't ask for anything more. We love the snacks to start (5 for 2 of us :) but we love food!). Followed by small or large plates depending on how hungry we are (any of the menu options we have tried have been excellent). We have often shared a single large plate - rarely have room for dessert but the bread pudding is rich and delicious.

Although this was back in February it still bothers me about that night. I called to make for a reservation of 10 people on a Saturday night for my birthday and was happy to hear they can accommodate that. Upon the day before or of, I received a call from the manager/owner confirming the reservation and asking if it was for sure 10 people as their Saturday nights are quite busy. From the sounds sounded flustered and a bit agitated. I brushed it off but upon arriving and getting seated, some of my friends were running a little late but was shocked to be approached by the manager/owner asking if I was going to use the rest of the table as there were people waiting at the door. My two friends and I were actually shocked about being asked to give up the chairs that night, not the best approach.

I can appreciate and understand Saturday nights are busy and honestly speaking it's busy at all places. Majority of people will wait for a table, I know I have numerously at other places. I think moving forward if you guys are not able to accommodate large groups you should not have taken that reservation or any large ones for weekend nights. At the end of that night 9 out of 10 friends stayed past 10pm and we spent quite a bit.

That said, although I was completely disappointed in that on my birthday I was however really, really impressed with the waiter we had which I wish I can remember his name. He was honestly amazing, funny, accommodating and above and beyond to make it enjoyable. If I can rate just him, he would receive a 5 out of 5. Unfortunately have not returned nor do I plan to just due to that experience

Great assortment of wine and beer. Definately a great place to take a date. Even if it's four colleagues from work. This place is a hidden wonderland that Edmonton needs for an eat like royalty experience. The service and food was warm and spectacular. Try it for yourself and tell me I'm wrong. Peace and thank me later.

Overall, I was not impressed. Beer and food was good or decent, but I had issues with service, atmosphere, and price. The server hovered over us, making us feel like we weren't welcome. They repeatedly asked if we had additional guests coming (we did, as per our reservation), as if they wanted to take our extra table. Except many other tables were still empty, so it's not like the tables were necessary. We were repeatedly made to feel like we weren't drinking fast enough, and the server even tried to take someone's glass before it was empty. The brussel sprouts on special were practically raw or really tough. Aoli served with fries was just the tiniest amount, and charged $2 for an extra tablespoon. Mac and cheese was quite good but very small portions for price. Draft beers weren't listed anywhere, leading to surprise $10 pints for some of us. I think perhaps this was not a good fit for our group - surely some people wouldn't be offended by the things that bothered me. However, this was not a casual place to grab a few pints with friends after work, in my opinion. I think we were also double-charged for a couple of beers.

Very nice bar and restaurant. Wednesday is half price wing day. They got many nice beer selection. Good for watching sport game, and saw the other group had even a birthday party. Definitely go back when I need a nice place for my company:)

Great beer and wine selection . Server was attentive and helpful. Went on Wednesday which was pizza special. Between the group of four we had all three types of pizza. All were really good. Also had the smoked salmon spread which went over great. The only issue we had was partially our fault and that was it was pizza special night and we didn't get the 1/2 price discount. We never checked before we got home. Id still go back any time. Enjoyed the evening.

This place left us feeling uneasy and we are unlikely to go back. The atmosphere was nice with dim lighting and suggestions that it should be considered "fine dining", however the quality of my entree immediately reversed those feelings. I ordered the BBQ Chicken dish: The meat was not as tender as I had expected, the flavors were abrupt and uninteresting, and the vegetable and mashed potato side was simple and boring. It was not unlike a dinner I would whip-up on a busy evening for myself at home. The service was questionable with our particular server struggling through his thick accent and ambient noise, and unable to properly explain the specials. He also appeared disgruntled that we did not order drinks or appetizers, with several inquiries for both, and seemed to treat us differently because of this.
