Room and bathroom are pretty good, and everything was clean. Room is a little on the small side, but for the price it was pretty good. Location is quite good, 10mins walk to either darling harbour or central station.

Worst place to stay I've ever had. I travel a lot with work. I was booked this place for a week as other places were fully booked. I checked reviews and thought it's OK. I checked in on Monday the room was disgusting, smelly dirty and middle ages. I asked to change and was told we are fully booked. Then I went the AC is not working ad it should the guy went I cannot do anything about it!! I asked my employer to change this place as its beyond imagination however because of short notice I had to stay for another night where some drunk people was screaming below my room until 11. I escaped next morning and will never come back again. How on earth this place is ranked 4 stars. Photo of my QUEEN room when I checked in.
Recently painter room with new window shutters, decent ensuite and comfy bed. Make your own breakfast options of toast & spreads, cereal, tea/coffee/juice available in communal hall. Really nice atmosphere in the bar with great lunch/dinner options. Plus staff (especially Sarah who made us so welcome) are friendly. Pretty close for most excursions
This is a pretty old-school pub. Cheap drinks and great food specials. The TAB is one of the largest I have seen. Very conveniently located across the road from the Powerhouse museum.
The crowd is very local and it is generally not overcrowded which is nice for a Sydney pub.
Service was friendly and staff seemed to enjoy working there. The menu on the web is out of date but the food selection was good Aussie Pub food. The steak special we had was excellent with good quality steak and salad.
For the price, great accommodation. Friendly staff, cereal and toast provided for breakfast. Great location close to darling Harbour and the Powerhouse museum.
Went here to grab a quiet drink and burger with some mates, nice little beer garden for a city pub. Old school feel and pokies hidden away to not get in everyone's way. Fantastic place to go.
The place is good, stayed at the hotel for a night. The rooms are huge and clean. But there was a small hickup, I had an approved late checkout by 3-4 pm but they forced us to checkout at 12 pm. The food served at the restaurant is good.
I m going there just for the VIP room and I m so disappointed that this is the only PUB in Sydney that doesn t offer anything to their customers (every where else soft drinks and some snacks are free for the players )
What an awesome little pub. Food was amazing and crazy cheap, the ribs where superb at $19 and the fillet steak on the hot rock was so tender. Staff were so happy, chatty and fun. We will be back fantastic all round!
Needed to find somewhere quick to escape the sudden storm. Headed into here & ordered a pizza & a few ciders/beers on tap (only wished they had different ciders on offer other than 5 seeds & strongbow). Pizza came out quickly & was tasty. Interior looked like it was undergoing some sort of renos on the ceiling above the bar area which was a bit of an eyesore but hope they fix that soon. It could also do with some other fixes so that water doesn t come into the dining area. It has a decent sized outdoor seating area.
Update: ordered the schnitzel deal, food came out quickly & great portions & tasty.
Food here is decent pub fare & service very friendly. I ve updated my score to reflect this.
Surrounded by TV screens, horse betting and football commentary, this pub just isn't a place to enjoy a beer or two whilst enjoying a decent meal.
I understand the kitchen has recently changed management with a new menu. I tried the roast of the day. Slow cooked beef. Not so cooked - and not so tender.
Turned the music down and the sound up on the footy when requested. Friendly and prompt service, great atmosphere and food, service . What more could you ask for?
Nice little hotel. Didn't hear other guests any time during stay! Was clean and recently upgraded. Lovely ensuite bathrooms. Staff eere friendly and room was serviced daily. More than enough towels!
Didn't give 5th star due to smoke coming up from back outdoor area (I'm sensitive to smoke), included breakfast was cereal/tea/coffee (I only had tea).
Other than those two small things, I enjoyed my stay and recommend this place when traveling for business.
Mmmm, very expensive. Horrible service. It was announced that there should be breakfast. Which was not. There were days without any coffee. When I did the booking I put a special requirement to check in earlier, because I arrived early in Sydney after a very long flight from Europe. My request was completely ignored. The hotel was closed in the morning. The reception is in the bar at the ground floor which was closed. The location is quite good. Otherwise everything else terrible.
After the wentworth park dogs .. stopped in for a few quiet ones ... the barmaid got very aggresive when the pubs eftpos didnt work ... the barman was nice ... will never attend here again .... we paid our for our 2 drinks at extra cost to us ... and left not a nice experience for myself & partner ..
The environment is excellent, the service is fantastic, the food is marvelous. I had the rump steak, i had given up ordering this for many years because..no one can cook a rare stake...this place can 10/10...and take the little one's they will love it too.
I ordered the hamburger for $20. When it came out, it was just a bun with a small tasteless meat paddy topped with a slice of cheese, a piece of lettuce and a token slice of tomato. To add insult to injury, the serving of chips was smaller than a small serving size at Mc Donalds. All this for $20. You could do better.
Great accommodation for those on a budget, the Glasgow Arms provides fantastic value for money. A basic but clean room is remarkably quiet for quite a busy street. And the continental breakfast is a bonus. I will definitely be coming back here when I m next in Sydney as I would prefer to save money on accommodation and spend it elsewhere seeing Sydney s attractions.
I recently was there to meet a good friend for a meal and a nice drink , but I was appalled by the owner of the pub behaviour and his treatment of a long standing patron of Arabic decent.
Racisim unfortunately is alive and well at the Glasgow Arms Hotel. Honestly it saddens me to write this .
Also the food is very ordinary and expensive , and they dont like kids or small children.
This place was great. Affordable, walking distance to attractions in the city, there's a pub, restaurant and sports bar below, the outdoor drinking area is right on the street which makes it great to listen to the many European cars burn up the road.
Exactly what I expect from pub food except with the added bonus of huge pieces of meat. I'd be perfectly happy to have their creamy garlic sauce on chips. Highly recommend the schnitzel with diane sauce. Sound track is phenomenal. I'm talking Boney M, Bee Gees, Europe and MJ. I'm happy. Good prices too.
Been having beers at this pub for years, and it's changed hands many times. Under new ownership, the current version of the pub has seen a return to a more traditional local, with pokies and a TAB section put in. The food is quality with massive portions you can't get a better pizza than $10 pizza Wednesdays. The crowd is a mix of locals, thirsty post sport teams and the odd tourist.
The hotel had a horrid smell that was so bad it made it hard to sleep (seemed to be a mix of tobacco despite being a non-smoking hotel, alcohol and some sort of air freshener). It is a nightmare for people with asthma. You won't realise how important a "normal" smelling hotel is before experiencing this. The bright roof lights shine directly towards the windows at night time and leak through the window blinds. There was a considerably noisy plumbing system where I stayed (room 4), alongside noise from the bar downstairs and traffic that makes it even harder to sleep through the smell. The biggest pro is the location, but it is simply not worth it for the poor night/s sleep you might experience as we did.
